Evening all, winter is definitely getting closer. Dentist this afternoon, but decluttered two library books on the way that I read.
New bridge needed for my mouth so also decluttered a serious amount of cash to my dentist (no NHS dentist on the IoW)
Where he had to remove a root three weeks ago as it had crumbled as he took it out I had some debris slowly working its way out, so he gave me a quick injection and whisked the last bit out that was giving me gyp.
I couldn't believe that such a tiny little thing, when he showed me had felt like a 4" nail while in my gumStill all sorted and back to see him in two weeks as he said it will give the gum more time to heal up
DGS Jack texted to say the electric airer I gave him to take back to his house was brilliant and he was so pleased and had caught up with his washing by yesterday and most of it was dried and so not hanging about ,so one happy grandson.
Tomorrow I may take myself off to Newport for a mooch as I really do need more cold weather stuff.I discovered some thick winter tights from the year before last, and I'll try them on tomorrow and see if they will do this winter they were a bigger size than I am now, so I'll see if I can wear them under some trousers without getting a 'Nora Batty' feelingof them sliding down.:)Have to see if it's warm enough though as it was a bit breezy today.
Another blooming blood test due on Wednesday I swear the Drs surgery must have a pet vampire as they seem to want blood almost weekly, the receptionist phoned this morning and said the cardio nurse wanted some more for a different test . I've never had so many tests done as I have in the past three months of being here, but I'm pleased in a way as it means that I'm getting a jolly good MOT on my body at least
Right off to have a read in bed as its my favourite time of day I read until my eyes get heavy then just nod off
Tiler came today and made a nice job in the shower room ,coming back tomorrow to do the grouting,
The builder popped in this morning and left some cheesecake he had made yesterday for DD and I.
I must say for a builder he makes a darned good cheesecake it was honeycomb and chocolate with some coconut added on top and delicious as well.
We had some after dinner tonight for pudding. The funny part is he's an excellent builder and a great baker but when he's in the sitting room grafting away on his tools he also sings and has the flattest voice of anyone I've ever heardeven my DDs greyhound dog whines when he hears him singing along to the wireless but I will live with his flat voice as his work is good and his cheese cake eve better
Night night all

Morning all. No moving news other than an acknowledgement of complaint to solicitor.
The night before last DGS4 (aged 9) took all the flannels out of the bag of towels (packed ready to go) in the bathroom and put them in his bath. No idea why but I just automatically put them in next wash. When I saw them on the line yesterday I realised there were 18 which rather begs the question as to why I have 18 face flannels! I have kept the 9 best ones but I really don't even need that many. New place only has 1 bathroom rather than 2 I have here.
1524 Flannels binned
1525 Hearing test done - they are writing to GP who will probably refer me to ENT as there is big discrepancy between 2 ears.
1526 Garden kneeler binned - gone rusty and I have another
1527 Very old Sky box in electrical recycling
1528 Metal plant buckets in recycling
1529 Small Butane gas given to man at recycling centre to dispose of
1530-32 Three small frogs munched up
1533 Car load to tip
1534 Packing tally - 91 boxes and 13 Bags
I have a meeting this morning. I have started a list of things to do this week if I exchange contracts. Defrost freezer; Get rid of dishwasher; Disconnect washing machine. Trying not to get stressed.2025 Decluttering Campaign 446/2025 🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟

I didn't get around to posting yesterday.
I had packed the trolley for the charity shop so Mr F went out with that in the morning.
I sorted and ironed clothes for photos. When Mr F came home - I took the photos - he is still reaching up to hang the clothes so I don't stretch too much.
I was having a day indoors - wrapped and labelled sales from the weekend. Monday was a slow sale day - £5.
Mr F went out to post the parcels and phoned to say there were donations outside the SA. I met him there and when I unlocked saw that the foyer was heaving with donations again. I sorted them all - only 2 items worth taking home for selling.
There was stuff that was too good to recycle - knitted and crochet blankets - we have a crate full upstairs at SA so Mr F will take the filled trolley to the charity shop today.

Good morning. Have sorted some clothes for cs, but not left the building. @London1 isn’t that what we all want, a builder that brings dessert😂. You certainly struck lucky there. @Florenceem your energy never ceases to amaze me. Could you bottle some and send it my way. Have a good day all12

Hi all, nice day yesterday meeting up with a friend for a birthday lunch which lasted well into the afternoon
. Not much decluttering but still a good day
. The present, wrapping paper and bag and the card from stash were taken and the kitchen bin was emptied. Lunch was so filling we had a very light late supper but I spent the evening doing some crochet while clearing some stuff from the planner.
Today I am back to my list as well as trying to sort out our mini break. OH is getting a bit knarky about it but part of the problem is what OH wants and I can't find anything that fits both OH's wants and the dates we can do. One more shout and I'll just hand everything over to OH to sort out
@retiredinfrance lovely to see you back and very pleased to hear Mr rif has recovered
Right better get cracking if I am to get anything done today
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Thanks, @TC77, for your kind thoughts. You also gave me an idea to make up my total from yesterday. It should be 290 / 366 and not 310.So I did a quick run round, well fastish walk round the clutter spots and your glassware prompted me to check all the glasses. So out went 0 glasses, but 2 crazed plates and two cereal bowls with tiny chips. Then off to the wool stash and out went 7 balls that I know I will never do anything with. Then DH’s clothes , 2 ties, leaving him with three which should do as he doesn’t wear ties! You know what I mean! Then I raided his cardboard stash in the garage and a pile of that went out.13, so far, 7 to go. Nothing for it but to find 7 books which I am unlikely ever to read. Whew, total correctly at 310/ 366
The books are an interesting development for me in that if a book doesn’t grab me I now donate it to the CS bag instead of hoping it will get better. I need to be more ruthless with the yarn and fabric stash, but that’s for another day.
Hugs for anyone who would like one-there are many posters going through difficult times.
Keep safe everyone.14 -
@retiredinfrance In my old home I had a wall full of books; when I moved here I got rid of about a third, gave another third to a friend for safekeeping, and the last third to another friend. After a year, when I made the decision to actually stay here, I picked up the last third and moved it here; the 'middle' third stayed with my friend, and she sold the books through her secondhand website (and kept half of the profits as a reward, and gave the other half to charity). As you can tell, I made a selection beforehand of how much I thought I would miss the books. I decided that my bookshelves would be stationed at the library; let them do the buying, sorting, dusting, ...

The bulky waste was picked up yesterday. The garden looks much tidier although I do need to jet wash it at some point. I have done some laundry today and I've been using the spin cycle at the end and it does help it to dry faster. That is one of my least favourite things about this time of year, drying clothes in the house.12
