Hi all, not much done yesterday apart from the footy
, meds ordered, lr bin emptied and in a continuation of decluttering the hall 11 shirts on hangers taken off the coat rack up stairs for OH to put away, currently hanging on the draw knobs on the cod
.
The weather isn't as nice as forecast but I have 2 loads on the line and another swishing so I had better get the maiden emptied as I don't think it's going to all dry outside today but it had to be doneand then I will have a look at a couple of the bags cluttering up the space
@Mrs SD well done Ernie
@~FlowerPot~ sorry about the apple tree, I don't know much about apple trees but can you plant a new one in it's place?
@Vulpix that was a good shop. I can't wait until I have the space to be able to hunt bargains
@Brie welcome home George. I am not really a lover of spiders, well not the big ones with hob nailed boots that invade the house at this time of year
, in fact not the ones in the house at any time really, they certainly don't help with catching the moths
. I do like to see their webs in the garden though. I used to like spiders when I was a child living in Zimbabwe until I brought an absolutely massive one into the house I had found having a drink while standing over the dogs water bowl. My Mum fainted on the kitchen floor, luckily my Dad was at home but he just stood at the doorway and said take that outside
. I must have had a talk about how some spiders bite and it has stayed in my primal brain
. Though we also had a black mamber in the garden and I don't mind snakes and I definitely had a talk about not playing with them
.
@TC77 well done on finally sorting out your dad's house
@Pennypincin I am starting to look at what presents I need to get as well but I have a few birthdays to sort before Christmas which complicates things a bit, remembering what I have got for which
@weenancyinAmerica rain at last
I have just been interrupted by OH and am running late on my scheduleso will be very quick now
@Vulpix, it was me who mentioned the film testament to youth, I have read the book which was why I was attracted to the film, well worth a watch, available on the iplayer. Those cards are probably worth quite a few pennies as they are very collectable
@2Scratters puffins
Right got to post now or nothing will be done
1653 meds ordered
1654 coat rack sorted
1655 lr bin
Take care everyone

Been on holiday for a week and now back to reality! It was a lovely break and going back to work tomorrow is going to be really hard.. Weirdly, the thing I missed most about being away was not baking!I was going to post before I went away, but the week turned out to be chaotic at work and I had to also make sure we were ready for holiday. Back to my using up challenge to eventually get the kitchen under control, the kids paperwork/craft supplies under control, packaging/wrapping paper and bathroom stuff under control. Also back to hopefully finally reorganising the library...Digital:

2 - baking overstock used up
1 - packaging reused
7 - paper, reused then recycled
1 - bathroom supplies used upNew total = 17,331Use up challenge = 18/24I also made rock cakes for the tlc carriage, but not made them before, picked a random recipe online and they came out flat... now I come to look at it, I'm not convinced by the recipe and have found a different one to try next time (although any offers for recipes would happily be received... @Mrs_Salad_Dodger I think you've made them before?). They do taste really nice still though, so will be happily consumed. Also should be some cinder toffee available later for the tlc carriage... also not made that before. It's cooling, but think it looks ok! Will dip it in chocolate laterOn the plus side, I went to many gift shops on holiday (I love a good browse), but the only things I brought were 1 bar of chocolate (already gone!), 1 lovely hm dish to put my rings/watch in on the side (been on the look out for one for months) which has been confiscated by DH to reappear as a xmas present later, 1 cuddly for DD (I completely fell apart since she was sniffy all holiday with a cold thing and then threw up everywhere at one point and was quite upset... who wouldn't melt at that - she's only 3) and 1 tiny album for DS to contain his penny presses he likes to collect. The kids brought back a few other bits and bobs, but all bought with their pocket money, so I don't count that. Overall I was quite restrained!2025 decluttering: 1,257🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🏅🌟🏅

Good evening chums, bit nippy and windy this afternoon on the IoW. Decluttered DGS Henry back to the mainland via the ferry with a couple of ham and cheese rolls and a drink to save him some cash on the train back to London. Strict instructions to text me when he gets back home. He may be 6’2” and 23 but I like to know he’s safe back at home again. We had a good long natter this morning and he’s a very sensible chap and even though he loves travelling he’s still tucking some cash away every month in a ‘rainy day’ fund.
DD and son-in-law have just walked the dogs, but I stayed at home in the warm as it’s a bit too nippy for me. I’ve got a dental appointment tomorrow afternoon where I had one removed but of broken root are slowly working their way out and are a bit uncomfortable so fingers crossed my lovely dentist will wiggle them out for me. I left my blood thinners off today so I won’t be spouting too much when he does it tomorrow 🤞
I picked up some good library books on Friday from Ryde library so they will be my go-to this week 🤣 unless it warms up a bit more in which case I’ll be possibly getting the bus into Newport for a mooch around M&S to see what clothes they have as I really do need some that actually fit me as I’ve got rid of the ones that were too big.
just about to have my Sunday scrabble game with DD 👍🤣
hope everyone has had a good weekend

Church this morning and I was asked to stay on late as the officers had to leave the building for a while.
Eventually got home for a short while to change out of my uniform.
I had been asked to go early for the 4.30 service - could I open up at 3.15. I went round at 3 - one of our regulars G was outside - as soon as I put the lights on - he was ringing the doorbell. I can't let anyone in when I am lone working but another Church member turned up so I got G in to give him a cup of tea and something to eat. Another person known to us was also outside so I was dealing with her when C turned up.
We had a meeting led by members from a local Church - poems, readings, videos and songs. Half way through we stopped for refreshments - I was on oven duty - cooking chicken skewers and cocktail sausages. No cooking dinner for me today.
We didn't get home until 8 as Mr F was busy with rubbish bins and recycling while I was sorting donations.
The singing group went well this morning although a couple of people were absent. I was asked to take part in the readings plus I take the offering and do the thankful prayer so had a busy time.

As I mentioned my last visit to Pompeii was almost 20 years ago so would love to catch up on progress since then and visit Herculaneum at the same time.15 -

Use it up dinner - DSis fried Dauphinois potatoes & ham; DH’s taste buds not up to much so he made himself a cheese sandwich & I had lo cottage pie with lo garlicky green beans. Trying to resist putting anything in freezers as I am still aiming for a defrost 🤞 Wudupa

Morning all. Got up early to do a quick frog. Put dishwasher on and hopefully it will be done before children want breakfast as I have so little crockery, cutlery and pans out. Hearing test this morning after I've taken children to school. They are likely to be here overnight much of this week as DS2 has some early starts but hopefully next week I will be living close to them and not 7 miles away. DD in Spain for conference and says it was very wet when she landed last night after a delayed flight. Hope we hear from solicitors today. Counting the boxes of packed stuff has been quite horrifying really - I cannot possibly need these things and a severe cull will be needed at the other end.
