Friday up & dressed by 10:00. Another overcast day & slightly cooler temperature of 14° C is forecast. What with DH feeling rather poorly yesterday & DSis also feeling very under the weather due to both an earache & headache, I hadn’t actually realised that I was feeling unwell - lightheaded & a bit wobbly 😥 Definitely feel better this morning 🙂 Now I am left wondering what happened to October 😱 It is DSis’s birthday today 🥳 She is in a state of shock as she not only received a birthday card from our brother BUT it was on time (actually arrived a couple of days ago 😉) Of the 5 scratch cards I gave her, she had one win of £2.00 😉 & the flowers that DH ordered were delivered at just gone noon. Picture below
London_1, lovely post & how wonderful that all 4 DGS will be with you over the Christmas holidays 😊 Great news that the building work is almost finished 👏 Fingers crossed that the weather stays dry & fine for when the new window is ready to be fitted🤞 I love your tale of DGS Ben & Jack carving pumpkins 😊 I do hope you managed to get photos 😉
GrannyKate, your solicitor sounds appalling 😾 There is absolutely no excuse not to keep you updated 😥 More stress at an already stressful time 😣 Meanwhile you & DD have worked so hard & done such an excellent job of decluttering & packing 🤩👏 that I am happy to be awarding you each your own Gold Star ⭐️⭐️
Great work oceanspirit 👏 especially nudging the frog 😊
regnbue, very useful information not only for GrannyKate but also for everyone struggling with their solicitors 👏
Liverpool_Anne, you certainly had a busy Wednesday 👏 Excellent decluttering & great work tackling the energy company frog 🥳 that deserves a medal 🏅 which is on its way 🙂 I must confess to never watching the budget (although I suppose I should have this time as it was an historic one - first female Chancellor of the Exchequer 😉) Fingers crossed that it will be successful & eventually lead to less fiscal pain for everyone 🤞🙏 I do hope you managed to sort out ‘the union thing’ without any problems 🤞
Lovely to see you Bozwood 👋 Really pleased to hear that the house move went well & that you are now mostly settled in your new home 😊 Excellent work with the unpacking & decluttering 👏 A Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 🙂 Good luck with the rest of the unpacking 🍀
London_1, what a difference a year makes 😊 To my mind you have always been a positive person but since you moved to your beloved IoW your love of family & life shines even more brightly 🤩 You are an inspiration to us all 🥹 Fingers crossed that you had plenty of visitors & that you had enough sweets 🤞We overbought (as usual 😉) & even persuading the accompanying adults to have sweets didn’t make as big a dent as I was hoping 😂 I even offered sweets to the delivery chap 🤣
Brie, I agree with daisy_1571 😊 George probably thought it was getting a bit like Piccadilly Circus 😉
GrannyKate, hopefully the email your daughter has drafted will get results 🤞
Florenceem, you might have had a day indoors yesterday but you were still excessively busy 🤩 Fingers crossed that the missing shoes come to light quickly 🤞
London_1, that certainly is romantic ❤️🔥 as you say maybe George has got tired of his bachelor life 😅 Last night’s dinner sounds yummy 🤤 What a lovely memory to carry forward ☺️ That little girl sounds absolutely adorable 🥰
oceanspirit, it might have taken 15 years of training but it is good news that your OH is taking the initiative when it comes to cleaning/tidying 👏 I will put ‘not progressing’ your frogs down to you being in a ‘state of shock’ 😉😉
vulpix, pleased to hear that you have got off lightly 🙂 Sorry to hear about DS & DIL 😔 I do hope that they are recovering & baby V is OK 🙏 Now that you have finished the blanket, please take it a little easier with your 2nd attempt at knitting the baby jumper 🙏 A momentous day indeed but surely you could have let the dressing gown reach its quarter of a century 🤣 Apologies - I am hanging my head in shame 😳 Enjoy your crafting 😊
Such a pleasure to see you basketcase 👋 You have had a very busy October & got a lot done 👏 Probably even more than you have listed 😉 I did have to smile at this “Old socks…………. More socks. Lots. And lots. Of socks…” 😁 I am now imagining socks leaping out at you from every cupboard or drawer that you opened 🤣 Good luck with your aims for November 🍀 I am so looking forward to you posting more regularly 😊
Liverpool_Anne, shame that the union thing took up so much of your time & still needs more work 😕 However, I have no doubt that you will reach a successful conclusion 🙂 Sorry to hear that you are having to change the dates of your ‘break’ but as you say better to keep OH’s appointment as you never know how long it would take to rebook 😔 Good luck with today’s list 🍀 Lovely cheerleading ☺️
DH is feeling slightly better as he has just treated himself to a long relaxing bath 😊 He then came down & put the pumpkins out with peanut butter & peanuts inside - we will be thoroughly entertained watching the squirrels demolish them - once they spot them 😅 Whilst DH was doing that I pruned the dahlia - still have several flowers so not completely cut down yet.
Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 🙂 Cwtches to all 🤗

Evening everyone.
Sorry to hear things have been tough for people.
I've managed to declutter 2 pairs of walking boots, 2 pairs of walking trainers and a pair of jodhpur riding boots.
All either not worn or lightly worn, 1 pair of walking boots was a half size too big for me.
The riding boots I've not worn for years and at the moment or for the foreseeable future will see myself wearing them or be riding.
I'd bought the walking boots I'd bought because I did need them, but we're cheap adolescent size, but not really the colour or style for me.
I've given myself permission to buy riding boots if I ever get into riding in any serious way again, but walking boots I will need to replace but will try to not rush and look around.
The person I gave them to is really greatfull as she sells stuff online, so it will help them.
I just don't have the patience at the moment for doing anything like that.
I've also rehomed several bags of flour, bottles of oil plus a couple of odds and sods from the kitchen cupboards.
I've a bag on the go, gradually being filled for the charity shop.Decluttering campaign 2023

I was busy until after lunch - preparing and pressing clothes for photos and taking the pics.
I had parcels to wrap and label so Mr F went out into town with them.
I popped to SA to check if there were any donations - I hadn't been since Wednesday evening. There was so much - I filled lots of bags and Mr F came to meet me there - he carried them round to the storage crates - we have 2 filled now so will need the chap to come and empty them next week.
It wasn't just the foyer that was heaving with donations - there were loads in the back hallway. I got all the bags cleared and just left boxes to be sorted. My back was telling me to stop.
Still not heard from the Dr's surgery about xray results and physio.
After doing dinner - I listed on V. Sold £18 of stuff today.

Decluttered two large grandsons at tea time back to the mainland Ben and Jack, then an hour and a half later their brother Henry arrived for the weekend
I will take him out to lunch tomorrow .I adore all my grandsons equally but Our Henry I do have a soft spot for him, we all do really ,he is such a cheerful young man, and he teases me mercilessly
He's 6ft 2"and a handsome blonde bombshell and I'm a good foot shorter and he calls me his pocket nanna and is convince I was one of the Borrowers in a previous life cheeky monkey But he is such fun to have around and lights up a room with his cheeky smile
He's a merchant banker and says when he makes his first million he will buy me a yacht`and drape me in diamonds as I'm his favourite girlfriend
I keep asking him when he's going to find a nice girl and settle down, but he says he can't settle for anyone unless she's like his Nanna (mainly because he likes my home made biscuits and sausage rolls. He says its worth coming over a hundred miles down from London as I make his favourite food ,proper home made stuff not fast foodHe's a love them and leave them lad:) I know when he brings one home eventually she's going to have cut the mustard with his Nanna first. But all the boys tease me because I'm so short I think their Mum must have fed them Tomorite as kids to have four huge sons.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and the sun shines down on our washing

@Mrs. S_D - love the pumpkins. Great idea about letting the squirrels have them after. Tell Mr. S_D he did a great job. Hope DSis had a wonderful birthday.
Shot in back didn't seem to work. Will try something this next Wednesday.
@London_1 - You are probably still tall by comparison with me. I can stand up in the airplane under the baggage holders without any problem. Too short to be a stewardess or air hostess though. And I definitely have been shrinking. I asked someone for help at the grocery store the other day to reach a package and she said no one had ever asked her to help for that reason before - she said she was only 5 foot!
Our days are cooling off finally. Fall is in the air. Until last weekend it was still getting up to 24C. We are still waiting for the predicted rain though. Better weather for tourists right now.
Our local park is getting ready for a Dia de los Muertos festival this evening. We had about 40 children for Halloween.
Trying to get a couple of frogs done today as this is Frog Friday.
Wish all a good start to November. This weekend is when our clocks go back. Tuesday is election day but we have all done early voting here. Hoping there is no violence - holding our breath. Never used to be a problem.

Mrs SD, I don’t think the hoover can take more lumps of dressing gown. 🤣 Luckily Baby V swerved the Norovirus. They were so ill, I think if he did get it he would have ended up in hospital.
Liverpool Anne, I do mean like tennis elbow, although the amount of times I have played tennis can be counted on one hand. I really hope it will get better with a bit of rest. I keep moving it to see if it still hurts, as you do!
Granny Kate, I didn’t realise it was your solicitor that was lacking, I thought it was the house you are buying. Very stressful.Happy belated Birthday Salad sister. What interesting flowers and lovely colours.
weenancy, that is so cute that you asked a 5ft lady to help you. I used to be 5' 2" but am now 5'. I always have to ask for help in shops.
Got stuff cut out but not sewn.I made the most of being on my own and read half a paperback. Nothing on my frog list was doable without money, help etc. Step son coming next Tuesday so hopefully plenty of things will be crossed off then. I did pick up a lot of leaves from the back yard. Still plenty more to fall yet.

I feel like I'm getting shorter, but when I was measured at the hospital I was still 5 foot 6. I must be imagining it.
I can't remember what I said on here last, but I did get rid of a lot of stuff to the charity shop last week and the bulky waste is due for this Monday coming. I need to jet wash after they take it away.
I am out both days this weekend, but I am going to do another declutter and reorganise over the next few weeks as I don't have much planned at all and I do tend to feel like staying in most evenings when it gets darker. We just binge-watched the second season of The Diplomat and a show from a few years ago called The Undoing with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant.
I hope everyone has a nice weekend.
