Hi all, yesterday was quite a good day. I wandered around with the list in my hand checking the state of play of the jobs on my list. I must say it did help me to focus on a few things rather than the whole overwhelming mess
. I was interupted for a while as OH arrived home and told me ln was home so we had to have coffee over the fence to catch up but we weren't out long
. So the bathroom bin was emptied,, the top of the gas cupboard was cleared, it's the dumping place for everything that comes through the letter box
so OH"s post was handed over, lots of bits of paper and carp recycled and binned. There is still some things on it, I have coralled the various bottles of hand sanitizer there so they are easy for OH to grab on the way out if a replacement is needed in the car, a pen pot next to the phone and the dead smart meter
but it looks much better
. Then I tackled 3 bags of gubbins that were lurking in the hall. Things emptied out and either put where they live or binned. There are more but it was a start and hopefully I will get them all gone this weekend as cleaning the hall floor is on the list
. I did a sweep of emails as this is always on the list
. 300 deleted and then I started baby blanket number 1. As I don't actually have a pattern, can't read crochet patterns, it is always a slow process at the start to get the right length of chain etc. I should write it down somewhere
, but 2 rows done and it measures up just about right so it will be easier now
.
This afternoon I am going to the footy but I have a bit of time this morning so I will see what I can get done
@Mrs SD belated birthday wishes for your dsis, lovely flowers. Great idea for the pumpkins and 're flowers yes they seem to be going quite late into the year, I still have roses and ln's hanging baskets are still full of flowers. Glad you and Mr SD are feeling a bit better
. Hope your dsis feels better soon.
@Moorviews I have some of those manuals somewhere
@Pennypincin good shoe decluttering, I have done mine but I think I need to do them again
@Florenceem you continue to amaze me with how much you and Mr F do. You made a comment about tax a few posts ago, I wonder if it would be worth investigating a separate account for your sales linked somehow to the SA to sort this out. Maybe have a discussion with C about this and see what can be done. It can be complicated I know but as you are running a virtual cs it could help you avoid paying tax at some point in the future. You do so much with all the sorting, posting pictures, wrapping and posting it really wouldn't be fair to then have to pay tax on the sales.
@weenancyinAmerica sorry the shot didn't help hugs. Glad the weather is cooling down for you. I like a bit of warm but it is exhausting when it lasts for so long. I am keeping an eye on the USA election situation, all I will say is that despite our trials and tribulations here I am glad I don't live in the USA right now, hugs. Either way it will be a first, first woman President or first fellon, I know what I prefer
@Vulpix rest is the only real cure for the elbow with gentle movement to keep it flexible, hugs. Mine started with my right elbow and over the 3 years I learned to do everything except write legibly with my left hand but it was surprising how much concentration it took to make a cup of tea and my doctor was most impressed I learnt how to use a mouse with my left hand
Right off to make a cuppa and see what I can get done before I head out.
Hugs to everyone who would like one

DSis loved her flowers 🥰 Unfortunately she didn’t win anything from her Euromillions ticket 😔 Her son phoned from France 🙂 as he never sends a card 😕 DH & I cooked her birthday dinner of rump steak, Dauphinois potatoes & garlicky green beans 🤤 Wudupa. P.S. stayed dry all day.
2016 - 2020 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, cardboard box, 2 newspapers - recycled
2021 - 2022 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
Saturday has started with rain. Currently overcast & feeling chilly due to the dampness in the air. DSis having felt considerably better yesterday is feeling very rough today. DH is watching reruns of MotoGP qualifying. I was awake at 11:00 & up by 11:20. This years squirrels are all a bit young so the pumpkins have barely been touched although one of them has had its lid removed.
basketcase, First things first, I was very remiss yesterday in not awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ - this is now on its way 😊
Excellent decluttering Moorviews 👏 You are definitely on a roll 🙂 Shame about losing your long post 😔 I now type everything up in notes, then copy, paste, reread making any amendments & then post. I then check that it has appeared on the thread before deleting the Notes entry 😉 It does take slightly longer but does mean that I haven’t lost a post in a while 😮💨
Excellent work decluttering footwear Pennypincin 👏 & great work tackling the contents of your kitchen cupboards 👏
Florenceem, another very busy day 👏 Steady sales as well 😊 Please, please take care of your back 🙏
London_1, you must have been sad to see Ben & Jack leave but it does sound like great compensation that Henry turned up so soon afterwards 🥹 Just a shame that the brothers didn’t get to see each other 🙁 Something to look forward to - a yacht & diamonds ☺️ although I imagine you would prefer to see Henry settled with a nice young lady who adores him ☺️ Your comment “But all the boys tease me because I'm so short I think their Mum must have fed them Tomorite as kids to have four huge sons” had me grinning like a Cheshire Cat at the picture that formed of 4 lads each planted in their own pot & growing like sunflowers 🤣
weenancy, I passed on your compliment to DH, he was so chuffed 😆 You made that lady’s day, I bet she was smiling for the rest of the day 😉 Sorry to hear that the ‘shot’ didn’t work 😔 & that you are still suffering 😢 Hope the Dia de Los Muertos went well 🤞 I imagine it is quite a sight 🙂 Now that the weather is cooling off, I do hope you are sleeping better. I will keep everything crossed that the rain arrives but only during the nights so that your days aren’t disrupted 🤞 I am also sending up a prayer that Election Day is violence free 🙏
vulpix, so pleased to hear that Baby V avoided the Norovirus 😮💨 Lovely cheerleading ☺️ Sounds like you had a peaceful & restful day 🙂 Fingers crossed that stepson can help you clear most of your frogs, especially the non-expenditure ones 🤞
Excellent decluttering Wednesday2000 👏 Enjoy your weekend & I hope the weather stays fine 😊 Good luck with your planned decluttering & reorganising 🍀
Excellent work Liverpool_Anne 👏 I really MUST make a full list - I do need to give myself a kick up the jacksie but sadly not flexible enough 🤣 More great cheerleading 🥳 & I am with you on your very last comment to weenancy 🙏
All caught up 🙂 Even though she is still feeling rough, DSis has just left for her appointment at the hairdresser. Yet again, the hairdresser that she was comfortable with has moved to pastures new, so she has a new one. Fingers crossed that he/she does a good job 🤞🤞 Cwtches to all 🤗 & wishing you all as good a day as possible.
P.S. Ernie was very kind to me this month - £150 🥳 not so generous to DH - a big, fat £0 🙁

Mrs SD you never cease to amaze me with your cheerleading time for another medal for you, 🎖️you really do keep us all going x
We have 4 very old apples tress and one of them a few days ago has fallen, and it's resting on the raspberry framework (also ancient and can't believe it's holding the tree) DH spent the morning cutting some of the weight off it and then used a slackline to strap it to the oak tree to winch it back upright. This was partly successful, but we can see that this plan won't hold it, even if staked as most of the tree is on the Fallen side and still leaning. So it's got to go! Very sad as we love our apple trees. I wasn't able to help with the tree, but I am up and dressed and did poo pick the lawn yey!
Otherwise not much is happening in flowerpot land.♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

We have been out, shopping and what a beano we have had. Bought a big glass punch bowl and 21 cups , a seasalt bag, a regatta fleece and a regatta coat, a big vase and some indoor plant pots for DD1. All less than £20. Did we need any of it, absolutely not. It will all find its way back to the charity shops in due course. I came home and found 4 bags to go to the charity shop to make up for one coming in. The fleece and the jacket are for Mr V so he needs to find a couple of coats to go. I wouldn't mind, we only went out to find tassels for my crafting, and that was the only thing we didn't get. They are easy enough to make though.
The drive over the tops was beautiful. the trees have got the memo about putting on a display. There were hundreds of geese flying very high overhead in beautiful formation. I don't think they were migrating, just having a nice fly around before bed.
I know what your sister means about hairdressers Mrs SD. I went to someone new and it felt like I was being unfaithful so went back to the woman who I have used for 30 years. I don't know what I will do if she retires. Have long hair I suppose!
We were talking to some American people on holiday last year. They were positively depressed at the then option of Biden or Trump. Not such a Hobsons choice now. It makes me grateful that our head of state is not a political figure.
Flowerpot, what a shame about the apple tree. I don't think apple trees have a very long life expectancy but even so it's a shame.
I hope people under the weather are feeling better. I still have my strange cold, earache, sore throat lurgy which comes and goes.
How nice to be able to say, DD1 is coming to visit this evening. It's been a while since she could just call in.
I am off to wash my purchases. Vx:13 -

Vulpix , I was surprised by you buying so much
but for under £20 a steal.
On way back from my dad's, still sorting it but it's at least on the market. Heading home with some new to me trousers from cs and stuff in the wheelie suitcase ( small) I took with packaging. There are 2.5 boxes packed to come back with the van of furniture when I finally arrange but know some will get passed on.
Fingers crossed have sold a sofa for pick up Monday. Took a large bag to cs from my dad's and a crate of things for tip.
I am taking a duvet and a few other things to the donation hub tomorrow . Maybe next year I'll count things in , omitting frogs has meant ive had to dig abit deeper for things to pass on.13 -
I've had 3 items come in, but they are calendars for Christmas presents.
I've a small pile for 3 people and have more to buy.
It will be gone by the new year, although I'm bound to have been given stuff that I will have to take to the charity shop.
Part of the problem is that I don't know what I'd like, it's expensive or people will just buy whatever.Decluttering campaign 2023

Another busy day here. We decided to miss prayer breakfast - it was at a Church that is difficult to access with public transport.
It was a taking photos morning and sorting of stuff to press then wrapping and labelling parcels. Mr F went off to post the parcels.
On his way home - he stopped at SA - there were donations outside so I went round and unlocked. The foyer was full of bags of donations so we were there quite a while.
This evening we went back to SA to take in the food delivery from M & S. They obviously over ordered Halloween mini sausages - I struggled to fit them in the freezers.
Been listing on V after dinner. Sold £13.50 of items today.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

It's raining here! Been a long time since our last rain. They kept promising, but it didn't happen.
I managed to get tennis elbow by writing too much according to my doctor. Had to wear a strap around my arm for a long time. Now I try to be careful - including how long I stay on the computer. Small cat is trying to help by keeping me away from the computer keyboard.) It was very painful.
I went to the FamilySearch Center today to help a friend. She mentioned that she used the local "Buy Nothing" group here and told me how to access it! Need to see how we can start passing things along. Of course, if I could just organize the stuff, it would help a lot. Does anyone else have dreams about organizing their house? I think I will start pretending that I need to move into a tiny house and see what I can pass along instead.

weenancyinAmerica definitely get some stuff moved on - its much easier to organise when 1 you have an organisation space to use and 2 you will have less stuff to be organised. My thinking has definitely shifted from how do I store this, where can I put this to why on earth am I keeping this, I have several of these so dont need this pile too etc
