Hello all, hope everyone is well, hugs if not.
On Tuesday we collected our DGC from school and they decluttered the remainder of the xmas party food that hadn't been cooked. I sent some cheese home with them as I am not much of a cheese lover. I recycled all the boxes and packaging from the party food which left one spare drawer in the fridge freezer. Today I have filled that drawer and the chest freezer as I get twitchy in case we get bad weather. Anyway I digress.
Today I had a problem opening a drawer in the welsh dresser there was too much stuff in there ! I have sorted through it and binned/recycled :-
A dried up pen
Cover off a battery charger
9 broken shoe laces ( any good ones have been paired and bagged)
A extending car aerial (DH kept for Justin 🙄)
2 phone chargers for phones we no longer own.
Paperwork for a wm now out of guarantee, but kept the book in case DH ever needs to use it, the machine I mean 😂 Similarly the dw book !
A hover mower blade as we no longer have that mower.
3 packets of waaay OOD seeds, I had the intention of collecting my own and replanting, but that didn't happen 😕
Several other bits and bobs of wire and stuff (don't know what they belonged to)
Also 25 plastic carrier bags recycled.
Bala hugs for you and Miss Tiggy
MrsSD I hope DSis and DNephew can eventually resolve their differences 🤞 I forgave the DGC for not eating up my fruit as they were in NY on holiday.
Take care all

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Good afternoon fellow declutterati from an overcast & chilly London 🥶 DH had a check up with his cardiologist this morning so left the house at 08:25 (having stayed up all night for fear of missing the appointment) for an appointment at 10:00. Needless to say he arrived way too early but it meant he had time for a coffee to warm up 😉 Cardiologist was pleased that DH hadn’t had an atrial fibrillation for 4 weeks but still bemused at the frequent episodes of his heart rate falling below 40 bpm 🤔 so is arranging for a heart monitor to be posted. DH had an ECG after his appointment & was home by 11:20 - 35 minutes after I got up 🙂 I have watched several episodes of The Lazarus Project & meanwhile DH has been in bed for a few hours which will of course disrupt his sleep pattern for the next few days 😔
Excellent decluttering Dfw38 👏 Sorry to hear that you are feeling overwhelmed by stuff 😔 Please try not to be so hard on yourself 🙏 Just remember that although “stuffocation” might be how you feel now, the fact that you recognise it means that you are now better placed to make inroads 😊 It sounds like you have made a good start on the RL challenge of getting your DD assessed & hopefully now you have SENCO on board things will move swiftly 🤞
flamingo747, lovely supportive post 😊 Great decluttering & 377/500 means that another Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way
retiredinfrance, thanks for the hugs for DSis & me 😊 Sad to say it is not really that unexpected, just a bit surprised that it has taken so long to get to this stage 😔 Not quite sure what will happen 😔 but I live in hope. Any chance of a snow photo 😅
pixtotts, a busy day but satisfying 🙂 “I come this evening with a hard earnt Public Safety Announcement...
If you are sorting nail varnishes and come across a mysterious black bottle labelled "starry night" don't just open it willy nilly expecting nothing bad to come of it, especially not sat on your bed! It could well be a little pot of very fine micro glitter just ready to spill out everywhere >.< urgh >.< “ I know I shouldn’t laugh but…………😂 Well done on getting more decluttering done 👏
Siebrie, hope your husband has managed to find DD2’s bicycle keys 🤞Condolences to both you & your friend’s family 😔 An enlightening funeral & your comment “I went to the funeral of a friend (we had drifted apart), and they showed pictures of her life at the start of the service, and some people told stories of their time with her. She knew how to enjoy life, and I decided that I need to step up my game! I know that she worked from a very different budget, but there are still so many things I can do to make more of life than just let it pass. First step: not accepting dds skipping chores, requests for help or sloppy organisation. DD1 responded well, DD2 is not happy.” has certainly given me food for thought 🤔
Great work BudgetingBelinda 👏
Thanks ilovetea 🙂 Great decluttering 👏 - I rather like the sitting down decluttering 😊
bit_by_bit, looking after grandchildren is a good reason to forego decluttering 🙂 unless they are old enough to help 😉 maybe an opportunity to create a new game 😂
Brambling, pleased to hear that the item was finally collected 🙂 better late than never but it might have been nice if they had contacted you 😉 Doesn’t aching from an osteopath visit indicate it is working 😉
Florafauna, Happy Birthday to DD for Saturday 🎉 An impressive weight loss almost 4lbs 🥳
Dfw38, hopefully now that the wheels are in motion & SENCO are involved, a swift diagnosis will mean that your DD will get the assistance she needs 🤞Good luck with both decluttering DS’s room & the XMas decorations 🍀
flamingo747, fingers crossed 1. your Covid test comes back negative 2. you find the missing pieces of the large toy & 3. you can get a good start on your massive admin. frog 🤞
TheDoolallyDilly, some great tips re sorting/decluttering XMas decorations 👏 Sounds like your sleep pattern has been completely disrupted 🤔 Hopefully now that you are home after your op. you can get plenty of rest & get back to your usual sleep pattern 🤞I think ordering flowers is very MSE - it will make you smile every time you look at them & will aid your recuperation 😊 as will just pottering 👏
GrannyKate, fingers crossed that the lurgy is finally, finally on its way out 🤞Sorry to hear about your DD but good news that she managed to see the doctor & get stronger pain relief 😮💨 Happy Birthday to DS1 🎉 What a bargain re the trousers & definitely a good reason to revisit the contents of your wardrobe 😊
~FlowerPot~, sorry to hear that you are struggling with your energy levels again 😔 Re the trousers, whatever happened to Quality Control 🤨 or is that a thing of the past 😔
tibawo, a valuable realisation “I think one of the important things on my declutter journey is that i am now realistic as in the past I set targets and then got annoyed with myself for not achieving them. This in turn meant I gave up as i felt i’d failed.” Thank you for sharing this with us as I think many of the declutterati are too hard on themselves 😢
Wednesday2000, on the same note - Lewisham is a nightmare to drive around or get through now 😔
Excellent work sorting the kitchen junk drawers Wednesday2000 👏 With all that success, I am tempted to go through mine although I know that I won’t be finding a fiver - maybe a stray elastic band 😂 Wishing you success in replacing your black boots with a “new to you” pair 😊
Liverpool_Anne, hopefully not too much hair decluttered especially as it seems to be turning colder 😔 A rueful grin at the freezer sorting as an antidote to being cold 😉 Hope you have managed to stay warm today 😊
TheDoolallyDilly, excellent ‘maintenance decluttering’ 🥳
Posting this now even though I haven’t quite caught up 🙊

Decluttering - January 2024 - 89 physical objects, over 700 emails/digital decluttering 🎊 🏅🏅16 -
Friends, can I declutter the paperwork from all the times my ex has taken me to court for custody issues if I scan it and then put it on my external harddrive instead? Having the physical paperwork brings me no joy, only stress, and there is rather a lot of it. I could take it into work on monday and scan/get rid of it that way. Food for thought.
I have decluttered 15 books via Ziffit - if anyone needs a referral code let me know - and got £6.20 for my troubles. First day of decluttering gluten fully from my diet and I have also decluttered my enormously bloated stomach - woo. And I have taken all the bins out that I forgot to take out last week - so all my bins are empty. Feeling like I've been quite successful but also like I haven't done nearly enough.
@balabooberlies hugs for you and tiggy x

Thank you for the star MrsSD. No sign.of the toy bits, but on the flip side it is easier to let it go without guilt. Still no sign of the car battery pack either. But no covid at least.
Frog is done. Its the transition from tax creds to UC, so now we go from weekly payments to a five week wait without it. We're prepared and cutting our cloth accordingly, but it's going to be lean for several weeks.Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.
