I remember C&A being in Lewisham and I think Army & Navy too. I lived in Catford for 20 years and went to 6th form in Lewisham and to school in Greenwich. There used to be a Wendy's (US style restaurant) in Lewisham too. I only remembered that the other day when I was there looking around. I don't remember there ever being a cinema, although there was one in Catford. I used to go there almost every week when I was a teenager.
Southend city centre was so cold yesterday, it must have been the sea breeze and the high street was like a wind tunnel. It was perishing as I told my husband. He hadn't heard that expression before!
I did buy some black boots with a fleecy warm lining in Salvation Army so I did declutter the boots I was wearing. When we got home the mattress had been picked up so that is gone too.
The film (Night Swim) was pretty rubbish yesterday and we are supposed to be seeing another film today The Beekeeper with Jason Statham in it. I'm not sure I can be bothered!

Good morning all,
I hope you don't mind Mrs SD as this isn't decluttering but I thought it might be of interest.
If you have to use the Big River store it doesn't give you cashback or any loyalty benefits which riles me considering how much profit they make and how little tax they pay.
But...I've found that if you do have to use them, they do pay cashback to your nominated charity if you register with Easyfundraising. It may not be much but it pleases me if the multi-billionaires get a little less and my local wildlife charity gets a little more.😁😁
I might be teaching granny to suck eggs but I've not seen this mentioned anywhere else. The link came through with the membership pack for my local wildlife group.
Great decluttering all - any gain is a step in the right direction and that includes identifying what needs to be decluttered.
Hugs and commiserations to all those who need or want them and see you in the TLC carriage. 💕Aiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget

Have packed up vintage expresso cups and saucers as DD2 interested - can review later as not taking to uni but put away in cupboard ready for glass cabinet to be picked up - fingers crossed!
Multi cooker still in box awaiting space to be cleared for it!!19 -
Hi, such a lot of decluttering happening, I am impressed.
One of my neighbours came in last night to tell us the window cleaner was having to put his prices up to £10. I still think that is a reasonable price. Anyhoo she hadn't been in for a long time so she was given the grand tour of the house after the renovations which she said was lovely and very tasteful! That aside I was not embarrassed for her to go in all the rooms ( without notice ) as everywhere is tidy and no piles of stuff lying about. Keeping a decluttered home tidy is so easy. I am still tidying downstairs every night before bed, mugs in the kitchen,knitting in the bag kind of thing. I have always tidied up before we went out so as not to come home to a tip. My Mother always did that. The times me and my brother and Dad have been sat in the car and she started hoovering the sitting room!
Brie, your kitchen is going to be lush. My Mum still has her navy blue kitchen cabinets from the 1970's. They still look really good. I imagine that you are not going with the lime green flowery wallpaper though.
Bala hugs xxx Such a hard choice as to what to do for the best.
Mrs Sd's sister hugs xxx I would be heartbroken if my child felt that they couldn't talk to me.
I have to go to Mum's house today as my eldest nephew is going in over the weekend to take 2 pre war beds to the scrap man and the mattresses to the tip. I need to move a lot of things in the 3rd bedroom that the squatter put in there so DN can get at the bed. I am very pleased to accept DN's help. Maybe the upstairs will be emptied in the next few weeks. A lot of things given away on thrift site yesterday.
I have some more ins to report. I don't want anyone to think that they have to declare things coming in, it's just me trying to make myself accountable. Although I declutter lots I think I am still bringing a lot in. Counting will hopefully make me aware of it and reduce it. Anything coming in is a want not a need. Took some things of Mum's to the chazzer and bought Fomo a bed. He has never had a bed and loves it. I have brought a small amount of velvet fabric home like I said I wouldn't to make a patchwork throw for DD1. I also bought some curtains from fb for the back door.
Out, a jumper that I have taken a dislike to a candle jar given away at craft club and a sympathy card from stash. Also a broken fitbit.

Morning all, I had a rubbish sleep last night, too much thinking going on in my head. Anyway I can report 2 more caravan mags have hit the recycling box, they were buried in a cupboard and we will not be re-joining one of the clubs. Now one mag per month will not be dropping through the letter box for DH not to read 😁

@vulpix so true about the tidy house! It feels much better when everything has a place and is in its place. If someone just turned up unexpectedly I wouldn't feel panicked by the state of the place
I haven't decluttered anything but the book I was reading is finished 😄Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

@BudgetingBelinda
Another vote here for counting it up and taking it to the bank. Assuming your bank doesn't have a coin counting machine attached to the ATM - a local NatWest has one and they're great. Second option is to take it to the supermarket self service though it can take forever if it's all pennies.....
@vulpix
Good to know the blue should stand the test of time. No lime green will be seen!! OH has excellent taste so I've let him pick the colours but did nudge him away from a terra cotta paint for the walls and we're now going to have a mustard colour instead. This was agreed on the premised that he can do terra cotta somewhere else in the house OR if the mustard doesn't look right it can be painted over. My major input to any of the kitchen design was to insist on a stainless steel sink. We did have an off white composite one that had to be bleached daily to look clean. SS just needs a light scrub with bicarb occasionally which I think is a much better option.
Meanwhile - confirmed that the kitchen won't be usable at all until at least Tuesday. Ho hum. So the bbq was used this morning to cook bacon for butties instead of going out. And in addition to the percolator I now have to figure out what to do with the left over wood being installed for the counters. It's oak and there's one chunk more than a meter long so someone is very likely to want it for their kitchen so will look at selling it on gumtree. Might help me recoup the cost of some of the dinners out!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @Brie self service at the supermarket- that’s Genius!I don’t have high street bank- I’m with Monzo, but don’t want to give those coinstar machines a %. I will pump some through the self service machines and see how I go. Maybe in batches! Ta, that’s a fab idea!
