wednesday2000 There were three in Catford at one time The Eros, then The Queens about two doors away then the ABC further along on the corner of the Bromley Road junction .Gosh I seem to remember all the shops now The Army and Navy used to be Chiesmans, and when the Chiesmans heiress married the cricketer half of Lewisham turned out to wave to the happy couple.
I been doing more decluttering today and another two black bags of rubbish sorted out My conservatory is getting a decent sized pile in there at the moment But I decluttered some of the books but have left the moving of the bookshelves to my DGS as they are a good bit taller than me and I'd hate for them to topple over where as my DGS is also a good bit taller than meand about 55 plus years younger
Gosh its a chilly one today, even with the CH on its cold, and my house is rarely cold, but I've layered up and even got a beanie hat on

Good afternoon. Its been a busy few days here and i kept popping in to catch up while in the car or on the bus and meaning to post after but i don't seem to have had time.
Sending hugs and get well wishes to all who need them x
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger hopefully your sisters son sees sense and apologises but I know money can make people do horrible things. We have family members that haven't spoken for years over money.
@Brie the kitchen units look lovely, I looked again a similar colour when we were shopping a few weeks ago.
@flamingo747 I hope tge switchover goes smoothly and was easy to do, I have to do mine next Friday.
@balabooberlies I'm so sorry. We're in a similar position at the moment and it's a heartbreaking decision to make
@Dfw38 glad you have a supportive school and hopefully the process doesn't take too long. All through primary we were told DD2 was just quiet and shy. Luckily her secondary school teacher could see what we did and finally got her diagnosis a year ago at 14.
I'm sure there was other things I wanted to comment on but it's gone at the minute. Thank you for all the comments about my list going last week, its good to know its gone but still a long way to go.
This week we've decluttered DD2s hospital appointment for her foot, waiting for a physio referral now and DS2s EHCP review at college.
Today DH finally managed to get some plastic storage boxes so I've sorted through the Christmas decorations. Most are ready to go back in the loft and I have a huge box to go. They were given to me by my gran when we moved in and they're the ones I used to put on the tree when little. We only used them the first year as the colours are faded, a lot didn't have the attachment bit on etc but I couldn't bring myself to throw them out but I've taken the plunge and not put them back in to the loft boxes. Not counting until they leave though in case I change my mind.

Mustard is going to look amazing with those kitchen units @Brie 😁
Not much done here, I'm still feeling really groggy. I did manage to get a letter written and a little thank you gift for my friend wrapped up, but no physical objects out 😔 I even had an afternoon sleep, and I never sleep during the day normally.
I did delete two apps from my phone, every little helps!Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

I've kept up with reading everyone's posts and had a lot of comments to make but forgot to make a note of them so here's a general "love / hugs / cheers to everyone as appropriate.

Big News ! I did my Tax return & paid tax !!! and taught DS to do his too - over to him next year God Willing 🙏. Doing it in bite sized chunks worked really well - I just need to start the process earlier next year. I'm so pleased to get it done - a real weight off my mind ahead of my birthday tomorrow.
Sooooo my birthday treat to myself is to have my very old (30 years +) & not very attractive tattoo reworked. I've been talking about this for at least ten years and finally plucked up the courage to go into the tattoo parlour. I felt very out of place as most of the staff appeared to be younger than my tattoo but they were very welcoming & reassuring ... I'm having it done next week so I don't talk myself out of it! . I'm experiencing all sorts of feelings - embarrassment (I'm way too old for this kind of thing), scared (it's going to hurt isn't it!), apprehensive (will I like it) & excitement - I'm (hopefully) going to have a beautiful tattoo rather than the one I stopped liking about 28 years agoTask

@charlies_tribe it was not too bad tbf. Just the wait now, and with DH having switched jobs last week he's had less pay this month from old job as only did 3 wks not 4.
+6 toys decluttered to a man on FB who offered me £30 if I would post them rather than the £5 I asked for. I guess they were rarer than I thought, but that's £24 after post and fees, so Junior Flamingo gets £10 and I'm keeping the rest for all the cleaning, arranging, and postinglots more things listed on FB and o-lio, maybe some more pennies will come!

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Oh dear, I didn’t wake up until 13:25 🫤 but at least I got up straightaway 😉 DH had another half hour in bed 😉 I have been sabotaged again 😔 I have been diligently trying to use up freezer contents in order to defrost them but DH is determined that I won’t manage it 😔 - he ordered some Brockleby’s pies (from Melton Mowbray) which were delivered today - Cocky Leeky, Wild Beaver Pie (beef steak & ale) & Wild Deer Pie (venison in red wine sauce). Two are now in the freezer & one has been left out to defrost.
Dfw38, quite a conundrum 🤨 I must confess that I am a bit mean at XMas as no decorations are ever put up - no DCs to please but I really should treat my DSis at least once in the coming years as she loves Christmas decorations 😊 Although I probably won’t get a tree at any point 😉
flamingo747, lovely comment about the vases “Brambling let them go, try them on e-bay/v-inted, but even in the CS someone may fall in love with them. You honour them more by letting someone else love them than feeling burdened by them yourself. It's not easy when it's family sentimentals” Good luck with both decluttering the cupboard & the listings 🍀
GrannyKate, every little helps 👏 although seeing the lurgy gone is definitely your best decluttering 😊
Pitlanepiglet, remember that digital clutter is just as oppressive as physical clutter 😔 So very well done on plugging away at the digital decluttering but more importantly well done on both acknowledging & celebrating your success 👏🥳 A revelation indeed 😊
Excellent digital decluttering flamingo747 👏
Excellent work Siebrie 👏 Now you just need to get DH up into the attic 😉 So very pleased that DD2 is enjoying life 😊 Also such a wonderfully kind young lady to display the gifted cuddly toys, showing her friend how appreciated they are 🥰 I see that she is also becoming a fully fledged member of our declutterati family, so I am awarding her a medal 🏅 in recognition of both her kindness & her decluttering 👏 Also great news that DD1 has been offered a dog walking job for the spring break 👏 A chance to earn her own money as well as being a compliment at how trustworthy & capable she is considered to be 😊
Wednesday2000, rather enjoying the reminiscing about Lewisham 😊 Your mention of Catford reminded me that DB & his family had enjoyed living there prior to moving to DSisIL’s home country of Germany. Good work following the 1 In/1 Out rule 👏 & yippee to the mattress being gone 🥳
dND, I don’t mind at all 😊 That is very useful & interesting information 👏 & could be viewed as decluttering from the big river company 😉
TC77, yippee to the coffee table being picked up 🥳 Fingers crossed that the glass cabinet is also making its way out of your house 🤞With all these large items being decluttered I am sure you must be noticing some space now 😊 Fingers crossed that the multi-cooker will soon be in action 🤞
Time to take a break 😉 Sad to report that DSis still has an upset tummy (& still hasn’t contacted the doctor 😔) so will not be partaking of any pie tonight - she has decided to have chicken soup & a piece of crusty bread for her dinner 😔
I hope everyone is managing to stay warm 🤞

Mrs_Salad_Dodger said:Not too sure I could cope with a “minimalist oasis” in kitchen cupboards but it not only sounds like it will make you happy but you are positively looking forward to it 😊It's more that I would like cupboards that aren't stuffed full and I can easily take things in and out of them. Plus I really only cook from scratch so there should only be a few basic ingredients around in theory. At the moment I still have a baking overflow cupboard because I have too many different things and I just don't need that many different items. For example, I have about 8 types of sugar for some reason. I think I can get it down to 4 (icing, light muscovado, dark muscovado and golden caster sugar) to cover all baking requirements. I mean it takes me an age to use up sugar as I don't use that much of it anyway! I definitely don't need 8 different ones... Would love to get it down to less than 4, but not sure how I could manage that and I am not faffing around adding sugar to dark sugar to get light brown sugar every time I need it etc.Well I didn't think I'd have anything to report today, but after a bit of baking and running around tidying for an hour (nope, house still not tidy yet), I have managed to declutter as part of that. It's definitely getting easier, but not cracked the completely tidy house yet. I am still working on the rough guide that one thing should go for every 10 things I have to put away and it's at least eye opening to see where all the tidying work actually is. In theory it should mean there is less to tidy each time.. I won't keep tracking forever, but the data is useful at the moment to see where the difficult areas are that need work.Physical:
3 - clothes (charity bag)
2 - kitchen baking overstock used up
1 - ood Covid tests binned
1 - bathroom supplies used up
1 - paper, reused then recycledNew total: 1,726My plan for the weekend will be to try and catch up on the tidying and possibly see if there is any sneaky decluttering to do in DS's room as that is the room that needs tidying the most based on my tracking.2025 decluttering: 3,550🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Not a huge amount of decluttering going on here during this week as it has been nonstop at work this week and I’ve been too exhausted to do anything much after work. However this morning before work I took a bag of warm items (including a couple of items I made to use up spare wool) to local foodbank for them to hand out where needed, and this afternoon I took 5 large carrier bags of unwanted clothes that I sorted out over the last couple of weeks and an unneeded concertina folder to the charity shop. So at least most of the things I’ve decided I don’t want are now out of the house.Am thinking about a couple of other things that I might try to sell, just need to start getting some of the things I want to sell out, take pictures of them and get them posted on selling sites. Will make a start with a couple of the items this weekend I think.
Decluttering plans this weekend are to clear the floor of my bedroom and make space to move my chest of drawers through to DB1s room, finish the amigurumi elephant I’m making, sort through and organise some books and sort out some of the piles and boxes round my chair in the living room. Would also like to pop to the gym and will be taking DMum and DB1 to local shopping centre as they have a few things they want to get there. Might possibly get a couple of little bits at the supermarket there but not planning on getting anything much.B x16 -
Christmas decs and tree are in the attic.
DD2 was given reflector thingies to put on her spokes, from police officers checking all bicycles coming to school for being in working order. The thingies are actually on the spokes now, after 1 day, and not lying around for months.
For dd2's friends coming over, I asked dd2 if our living room was a room she wanted to receive her friends in. @balabooberlies so sorry to hear about Twiggy x
@TheDoolallyDilly you've reminded I've deleted apps and unsubscribed which I can count. Also put twister for the cs. I'm certainly not playing it! I'd never get up... and Dds don't want it. Bought a game think it's catan for us to play ( youngish adults.. them and then me) .
Mrs SD thanks for the encouragement. Big cabinet scheduled for collection tomorrow pm fingers crossed 🤞
