1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Watched the whole of series 2 of The Lazarus Project - still confused 🫤 However, this is why I have fallen behind with the cheerleading 🙊 DH had a few hours sleep & got up about 17:30. I made chicken & mushroom risotto for dinner. Wudupa.

TC77, I’m hopeful that it will all work out in the end 🤞🤞 As you are still working long hours, it seems that your bosses still haven’t filled the vacancies 😔 It all depends if the listening means the message is being absorbed & so will lead to action 😉 You are doing some good decluttering & hopefully a few more large items will soon leave the premises 🤞I like your new plan & with such positive goals & DD1 keeping you grounded all things are possible 😊
Brie, hopefully you can reach a decision about the percolator - whilst having one of your fried breakfasts 😉 It sounds like the people fitting your new kitchen are working really hard 👏& hopefully you will have the electrics finalised for the weekend & the water back on so that you can forego the fried breakfasts for at least a couple of days 🤞
flamingo747, perhaps the missing bits of toy are the bits that are clogging up the vacuum 🤔 More excellent decluttering 👏
QueenJess, very pleased to hear that RL pleasant things are creeping back into your daily life 😊 Dinner with a neighbour sounds lovely ☺️ Any chance of DH helping out with the To Do list 😉 I definitely appreciate your kitchen decluttering 👏 Very well done on both using up food stuffs & not overbuying 👏 Not too sure I could cope with a “minimalist oasis” in kitchen cupboards but it not only sounds like it will make you happy but you are positively looking forward to it 😊 I do think you should lie down - after all you must still be in shock 😳 My nephew is not a particularly bad lad - just selfish & inconsiderate which I was hoping he would have grown out of by now - he is 33 y.o.😔
Some great decluttering bamboo_socks 👏 & hopefully OH will surprise 😉 Fingers crossed that you find your tea-strainer & reusable teabag so that you can make a start on decluttering your national teabag collection 🤞
Great decluttering flamingo747 👏
Excellent decluttering balabooberlies 👏 Sorry to hear about Tiggy but hoping that she will continue to surprise you 😊
Soontobeoap, excellent decluttering 👏 & fingers crossed DH manages to book a Tip run 🤞
flamingo747, hopefully MrF will come out of hiding & provide the info so the large frog can be despatched tout suite 😉
nannywindow, nice to see that your DGC helped out with the XMas food decluttering 😅 I go to bed dreaming of an empty freezer drawer 🤣 I have this theory that drawers & cupboards will eventually let you know that they want to be decluttered….. as evidenced by the drawer in your welsh dresser 😉 An excellent decluttering session 👏 & I bet you feel elated 😃 My trouble with the situation between DSis & DNephew is that I can’t just bang their heads together 😔
Brie, looking good 😌 & I really like the colour of the cupboards 😊
BudgetingBelinda, I do so love counting money so my preference would be to do it at home, bag it up & take it to the bank 😉
Excellent decluttering foxandflowers 👏 “Feeling like I've been quite successful ……….” is the only bit of that sentence that is relevant 😉 Celebrate your successes …….. and that is a plea from the heart 🙏
flamingo747, yippee to no covid 🥳 Well done on completing the frog 👏 A five week wait - that is an appalling state of affairs 😡 I am rather lost for words other than naughty rude ones 😔
London_1, after reading how lovely Lewisham used to be, I am very sad at the state of it now 😢 And reading up I see that they have even more plans to continue Lewisham’s ruination 😿 So depressing. Excellent decluttering 👏 and Yes to decluttering books but NO to moving bookcases 🙏 You should definitely wait for DGS Jack & his gym-bunny muscles 😊 Now that so many of the declutterati are addicted to decluttering I really must ‘up my game’ 🙂
TC77, carbuncle of the year sounds about right ☹️ Hope the coffee table is picked up 🤞& that it is not too much of a struggle getting it out 🙏 Is there any chance of dismantling it?
Florafauna, yippe to all the decluttering 🥳👏 apart from the £50 😢
ilovetea, what on earth do you mean “nothing to report” 🤔 You have decluttered housework & probably some crafting supplies 👏
bit_by_bit, I bet DGS2 thoroughly enjoyed helping his nanna 😊 I will accept a hug or three but only because it would seem rude not to 😉…… actually it is because I like both receiving & giving hugs 😊
Great decluttering Brambling 👏 I think I might follow your example tomorrow - at least it would mean I had done some decluttering this week 😉 Fingers crossed that you can reach a decision re the vases & one that you are happy with 🤞😊
Florafauna, great decluttering 👏 I wonder if there is a group “Declutterers Anonymous” 🤣
Very well said -taff, in response to foxandflowers comment “Feeling like I've been quite successful but also like I haven't done nearly enough.”
“I think you should take your win about being quite successful and shut the voice up that says you should have done more. you have done what you realistically could. We've got to get out of this habit of putting more pressure on ourselves and just accept we've done well...It's as tibawo says, setting realitic goals means they get done rather than be disappointed when the lofty ones don't happen.” Sorry to hear that you are still not 100% 😔 and very well done on passing on a ladle - not getting rid just allowing someone else to have the joy of owning it 😊👏
And now I am off to bed 🙊 Sleep tight everyone & cwtches all round 🤗

Thank-you for the advice regarding c-mas decorations. We don't have any tatty or broken ones I took care of them when I did the big loft declutter of 2023. My issue is that as I really wasn't feeling c-mas last year I threw myself into it... mentally and physically 🤣 and it worked a treat, it was tolerable (don't mean to sound Scrooge-like) but I also went out and bought a load of decorations- which I would never normally do. Don't know what I was thinking 😖 and they weren't particularly expensive but now it feels wasteful and like admitting defeat to get rid of them...even though deep down I am not remotely bothered about that timeof year (but do it for the dcs) gah!2024 decluttering Campaign

@Brambling let them go, try them on e-bay/v-inted, but even in the CS someone may fall in love with them. You honour them more by letting someone else love them than feeling burdened by them yourself. It's not easy when it's family sentimentals

Brie I also.love the colour and the kitchen as a whole.
@foxandflowers even if you scan documents I would keep most important ones as hard copy unless you're really good at having back ups.. I keep files and have ongoing issues beyond 18 re the £ side as money owing from years before.and i could more.easily find documents.and related cases. My big.computer broke and couldn't retrieve things ( well I've kept in case this can happen at some point).

Morning all, there is some inspiring decluttering being done, well done and thank you Mrs SD for the cheerleading, it's really helping me to try to revive the decluttering habit 👏.
I've been plodding away at digital decluttering, my photo storage, Google drive and Dropbox are full and I need to weed the rubbish out. I'm starting to recognise that whilst I struggle to do physical decluttering in the week because of FT work and energy levels, I can pick away at digital decluttering whilst sitting on the sofa and that is still success. That's a bit of a revelation for me rather than beating myself up for not achieving anything physical.
I need to declutter some TV off the telly box over the weekend, there is so much good stuff on at the moment that we've recorded!
Have a good day everyone 😘Piglet

~FlowerPot~ said:@TheDoolallyDillyI do hope you are recovering nicely. I think buying yourself some flowers an excellent idea. I had intended to buy some daff a couple of days ago but they have moved the flowers section in sainos and I missed them! Fresh flowers are always and nice way to brighten a room and give you a lift.Im struggling with my energy levels again, so not planning much today I have made a short list. Yesterday I removed 3 pairs of trousers from my wardrobe. " of them are exactly the same but diff colours. They had been wwaiting for me to lose some weight to fit them properly. HAving done this I was pleased that 1 of the pairs now fits, however, annoyingly they look old, you know when the dark blue colour fades and they look a browny reddish colour! Ive worn them a fewt imes and washed them and looked at them again, but no! So I tried on the cream pair and they dont fit! Odd as exactly the same size and look like new! anyhow they are boths going and another pair which are not going to be worn.ALso picked up lots of bit and pieces of rubbish and odds and ends that needed to be put away. Rehomed by BACH flowers remedies into my drawer rather than on top of the chest of drawers. Ive been collecting these slowy over the last few years, they are beautiful flower remedies, i think I only have about 5 more to buy.Have a good day allFlowers x

Christmas has been taken down, but not quite in the attic yet. 2 balls were broken putting up the tree, 1 was thrown out for being tatty. Everything still fits in 1 medium sized lidded plastic container. The tree is in 3 pieces again. I actually sent 3 christmas cards!DD2 (12) has a slumber party with 2 friends from primary school tonight; they have quite the programme to work through! Baking cookies, decorating them, watching a movie on our beamer, facials/skincare, nails, croissants for breakfast (I buy them frozen from the posh supermarket at 45 cents each), karaoke, Just Dance competition, ..... She's enjoying lifeDD1 (15) has been offered a dogwalking job for the spring break: 6 days of taking care of 2 doggies for €150. Feeding, walking them in the morning, and putting them out to the garden in the early evening. It's about 20 minutes from us, but maybe husband can drop her off on his way to work and she can take the bus back home.DD2 was given a bag with small cuddly toys by the friend that's coming tonight. She has decided to put them on display when the friend is here, and then pass them on.
