I have decided to take the vintage dolls to the charity shop in Sheffield today. I like to spread donations about a bit. Today will be an animal charity near to where DD1 lives.
Take care all Vx:16 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
So much for coming back yesterday 😉 It continued to drizzle on & off until about 20:00 followed by heavy rain into the early hours of Wednesday. Dinner was beef warmed through in the hm gravy (DSis had Bisto gravy instead) with mash & mixed veg from freezer. Wudupa. DSis & I watched GBBO & were very pleased at the choice of star baker 🙂 We then watched 2 episodes of The Voice UK - a couple of great singers 🥳
1742 - 1747 Kitchen recycling, cardboard packaging, booklet, glass jar, drinks cans, glass bottle - recycled
1748 - 1751 Kitchen, lr & bedroom detritus, plastic packaging - binned
Wednesday: A dry but very dark start to the day. DH & DSis have just set off 11:15. I was up at 10:30 but am not yet dressed. Both wheelie bins have been emptied today but DH did hear 2 separate trucks - one at 07:00 & one at about 09:30 so I am reassured that the recycling has NOT gone to landfill 😮💨 I will start the cheerleading & see how far I get 😉
London_1, yippee to keeping the seagulls away 🥳 I just need something that keeps the pigeons away but NOT the little birds 😉 Not seen the sparrow hawk for the last couple of days but we do now have a couple of blue tits as well as the great tits, sparrows & parakeets. It does sound like your son-in-law made a really good choice when he picked the builders 👏 They are certainly motoring along 🤩 Fingers crossed that your granddaughter Katie & family do get to go to Florida 🤞My prayers are with the residents of Florida whilst Hurricane Milton is raging 🙏
crazybunnylady4, good luck with the job hunting 🍀 although it is a shame that you feel you need to leave your current job 😔 Excellent decluttering especially ‘project empty freezer’ 👏
Happy_Kitties, how exciting - a new kitchen 🥳 Love that you have made such an excellent start on the decluttering 👏
Excellent work TC77 especially moving frogs along 👏
Reached a natural break so quick flurry of activity just before noon - now washed & dressed, bed made & bin liner in wheelie bin. I have my 2nd cuppa & once finished will head off to Lewisham. Back to the cheerleading 😉
London_1, very impressive decluttering 👏 You did so much decluttering before your move that I am amazed that you are finding so much more to go 🤩 Love the idea of “Chuck-out-Tuesday” just a shame I missed it 😂
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Good luck with all your appointments 🍀
ruby_eskimo, hopefully once the bird feeders are up you will get some new & unusual bird visitors 🤞Good luck with the bathroom declutter 🍀
Typically, having broken away from the cheerleading I am struggling to get back into the groove 😔 So rather than continuing, I will post & do a couple of things from my To Do list 🙂
Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 😊

Hi all, sorry not posted for a couple of days. I was in a bit of a funk for a couple of days after cancelling my trip to see my dniece and took myself off to the tlc carriage but I got myself back together yesterday
.
On Monday I did go out for lunch with ln. We went to our local national trust property and had some lovely food, sat outside as the weather was nice, blue skies and wall to wall sun. Really pleasant considering the time of year. After lunch we had a little walk around the kitchen garden and watched the bee keepers checking their hives before the winter
. I wonder what they do with the honey? There is a local honey producer who sells at local fairs who has hives all over the area and sells it labelled by the post code
. I suspect these might be his hives, I will ask next time I see as at a fair
So in the past few days : 2 LDFPA, kitchen bin, bedroom recycling, bathroom bin, digital stuff on my phone and yesterday I took a bin bag out of the rod and sorted through it. It was full of pjs, nighties etc. So I got all the same stuff out of the draw and had a massive sort out. The bag was refilled with pjs, fluffy dressing gown and a pair of unworn fluffy slippers and the winter weight trousers and a t shirt that has been too small for me for about 20 years but has somehow managed to avoid being passed on. I was going for a blood test so put the bag in the boot of the car. The local cs I like to give to was shut again but I had a conversation with 3 ladies who happened along when I was checking the opening hours who used to work there and it seems they have staffing problems but will be open in a couple of weeks but they told me there was another branch a short drive away so I went there, 11 items passed on
. Also 1 nighty to the rag bag. It was kept because it was so comfy but it's wrecked so in the rag bag
.. All my pjs and nighties now fit in 1 draw, probably still too many but they are coralled for now
The weather is miserable today so the washing is in the holding pattern. The robins have arrived on my bird feeder
.I am meeting up with a couple of ex colleagues for coffee after they finish work so I have stuff to pass on to them and I will call in to OH's house to pick up the ironing board and check the boiler is ok while I am in the area
.
@Vulpix I would love to visit you againwhen are you going on your cruise? Hope the shingles tingles go soon
@London_1 shame about your gd's trip to Florida being delayed but fingers crossed they will enjoy it when they get there
@Muddy_Walker hugs for the whole of October
@Mrs SD brilliant photos, I see sparrow hawks flying around here but I have never had one in my garden.
@Happy_Kitties good luck with the kitchen
@ruby_eskimo good luck with the bathroom.
Right better get going, hugs to anybody who would like one

Just a few bits to add today - taking things easy and even sat down and did nothing earlier! For those in the TLC carriage, there is a piping hot hm pear and chocolate dessert served with ice cold hm vanilla ice cream.
As we approach the end of the year I want to see if I can use up some kitchen cupboard items and other consumables such as paper/bathroom stuff etc. I have at least 10 items to use up in the baking cupboard alone and then I might actually be able to get something out of there without removing half the contents every time! As it’s 2024, I thought I’d go for using up 24 items before the end of the year and see where I get to. This is stuff I have too much stock of or will use up and not rebuy, so will be a natural declutter if you like. I’ve got better about not buying too much, but it’s a bit of a work in progress still. Concentrating on using things up reminds me quite how long it takes which helps.
My parents are visiting at the weekend - you all know what that means and my mum is already messaging me about some tat she wants to buy DD for Xmas despite already getting the thing I suggested that was her budget 🙄. I don’t mind them getting things, but they have no self control and seem to think they should be drowning in stuff. Ironically DD is quite a minimalist and cares about very little outside of some books and her cuddlies that she cuddles every night for sleep. Anyway, I was too weary to argue more with them for not listening to my general beliefs about not buying plastic tat that falls apart easily and from one of the places that I boycott. I don’t expect them to have the same views, but it would be nice if they actually respected them even slightly. I said DD had nowhere in her room to put said item as her room is quite different furniture wise to DS’s (it’s a weird shape). Mum didn’t believe me and said there must be somewhere.. she just said she can look for herself this weekend. Sorry for the mini rant, but could do without this silly irritation whilst I grapple to get some control of my life given some upsetting menopause symptoms I am attempting to get under control. Very teary today, which is utterly unlike me and makes no sense to my logical brain which is actually quite content. Bit upset about the time of the month which lasted 26 days this time… then 3 days I get off and it starts again. Anyway, tmi….Everything will be better with hm chocolate and pear cake and some lovely hm seeded bread I made earlier in front of the last bit of Bake Off I didn’t get round to watching last night.Digital:

@QueenJess sending hugs your way. Take yourself off to the TLC carriage for some cake and put your feet up.
I decluttered 3 brand new beauty items to colleagues today and they were very appreciative. I'm required in the office tomorrow, 4th day in a row, I'm shattered and can't wait to work at home on Friday.

Good evening everyone, hugs to those who need one.
I have decluttered the last treatment today, 7 weeks of my life not being my own but now I have time to myself. I have lots of healing to do but also I can do more decluttering. I have been doing bits and pieces when I could and can see where to do next.
“HUMAN BEINGS MAKE LIFE SO INTERESTING. DO YOU KNOW, THAT IN A UNIVERSE SO FULL OF WONDERS, THEY HAVE MANAGED TO INVENT BOREDOM. (Death)” - Sir Terry Pratchett13 -
Hugs to you Jess and Machasraven, I do hope you are being kind to yourselves.
Still tingly and my arm feels like it has a raw potato in it.It better buck it's ideas up before Saturday as I am booked for flu and covid jabs. Unfortunately due to lymphedema I can't use the other arm. Don't fancy 2 needles in my hot but raw potato arm. The vaccine must be egg white based, I am intolerant.
Mission accomplished today. Furniture delivered to DD1. They are pretty straight considering they don't have any storage. She has bought a wardrobe from the charity shop and it is being delivered tomorrow.
I can now access stuff in my shed which I will give a coat of looking at tomorrow after yoga. There is a mid century display thing to get rid of and I want the opticians cabinet in the spare room. If it doesn't look right,I will sell it. I will manhandle the cast iron garden bistro table and chairs into the shed for the winter.
Stuff delivered to the charity shop and I made purchases. Some cruise earrings, a nordic type cardigan and a big glass jar. I am going to plant some paper white daffs up to flower at Christmas.
I have deleted loads off my phone. I am inheriting Mr V's phone as he has had a new one.
5 big bottles of cleaning stuff taken by my cleaner today. What's all this space under the sink? I will give her more from the bathroom cupboard next week.
I am itching to get everything except a piece of carpet and suitcases out of the loft. What else is up there that I have forgotten about.
Would you believe it. there was a viewing at Mum's today and they made a good offer but their house isn't even for sale!
Liverpool Anne, the holiday we wanted was booked up so we booked the same thing for April. Get your thinking cap on as to where we can go on an adventure.

Managed 2 items off my To Do list before I headed out @ 13:30. Bumped into ndn & had a lovely chat for about 15 minutes which was ideal as I had just missed a bus & so didn’t technically have to wait for the next one 😊 Then DLR into Lewisham. First stop was CEX with the games - offered pennies but as I just wanted rid said OK but cancelled after they asked for the 1st six digits of my bank card having already got my full name 😖 Naturally I asked why - response was ‘company policy’ - No thanks 🙂↔️ Took the 11 video games to CS who were happy to accept them together with 6 empty CLEAR DVD cases, 4 scarves, pair of waterproof over trousers, bubblewrap, four pairs of long warm socks, lidded mug & and a rolling pin. Then I had a look around & was tempted by the display of yarn 😂 After a brief contemplation of how much yarn I already have (about 80 balls), six 100g balls of yarn & 2 packs of Christmas cards accidentally fell into my non-existent basket 🤣
Then popped into Savers & picked up some toiletries & cleaning bits before getting the DLR & bus home - arriving back just before 16:00. Accounts updated, shopping put away & photo taken of CS purchases - see above 😉
1752 - 1780 Twenty nine items to CS
DH & DSis got back at 16:30 having had a very pleasant visit to a place called Battlesbridge Antiques Centre. DH’s wallet stayed firmly closed & DSis enjoyed a bit of haggling & bought a couple of of dog ornaments down from £22.50 to £10.00 😊 She also had a long chat with the owner. DSis also treated DH to coffee & cake 🙂 DSis was buzzing & has persuaded DH to go again next month 😅 I spent what was left of the afternoon watching Law & Order. Dinner was beef, chips & baked beans for DSis, added fried eggs for DH whilst I replaced beef with mortadella. Wudupa.
1781 - 1785 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, glass jar, plastic bottle, newspaper - recycled
1786 Kitchen detritus binned
vulpix, loved this “……. there's stuff to go believe me 😆 It's addictive, Once you start you see stuff you don't need everywhere. I am down to the very small stuff now. I just don't like to bin stuff unless I absolutely have no other option.” Good luck with the toy box 🍀 I have every faith that you will be successful 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 Hopefully after the initial hiccup with the EA things will go well 🤞
Great decluttering mhagster 👏 Seems such a shame that the charity bins are overfilled 😔 Any idea who is responsible for collecting the bags as it seems they have forgotten 😞
Great decluttering vulpix 👏 although obviously not as much as you had hoped 😔 Jacky from London presumably thought she was being helpful 🤨 Hopefully your new idea for decluttering toys will bear fruit even though you have to wait another couple of weeks before you can put your plan into action 😉 Hope you get a good price for the bracelet 🤞A holiday in April is something to look forward to - can be classed as an early summer holiday 😊 Sorry to hear about your arm hurting 😔 but as you said better than having Shingles 😥
London_1, shame about DGD’s holiday being delayed but better safe than sorry. Once you have finished your decluttering can you ‘loan’ your ruthlessness to your fellow declutterati 🙏
Brilliant decluttering ruby_eskimo 👏 A Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 🙂 Well done on the sales 👏
Just noticed the time so am off to bed. Only a page behind now 😉 Sleep tight everyone 😴

@machasraven - wishing you well with the healing. Hopefully you will rest as well as decluttering 😊
@QueenJess - I am sorry that you are suffering those symptoms, it can be very hard going.I am spending a fair amount of time in the tlc carriage and enjoying the lovely baking. Nothing serious, just a flare up of a chronic condition. It’s most annoying. Gentle ongoing decluttering is happening though and I am keeping on top of the recycling. It’s definitely easier to let things go this year than it was last year. My mindset has shifted considerably and following all the different journeys on here has really helped and inspired me.Hugs to anyone in need, or indeed anyone who just fancies one 😊13
