Yes, I did go to the P.O. 😉 Letters posted & package sent 🙂 I even got a bit of exercise by getting off the bus one stop early - every little helps 😅 Stayed dry & sunny whilst I was out 🙂
Welcome back mhagster 👋 So very sorry to hear that you have been so badly let down three times 😔 & 😡 Firstly well done on living so minimally for over 4 months 👏 even though it is not your “natural choice of lifestyle!” Excellent work so far sorting out boxes & the under-stairs cupboard 👏 That deserves an immediate Gold Star ⭐️ As to the boxes in storage, you have already noted that it took you 5 weeks to pack them so might I suggest you write a big notice to that effect & pin it up somewhere prominent 🙏 I am hoping that all the boxes can be put in just one room & then you can tackle them one at a time 🤞Good luck 🍀
GrannyKate, not sure “disappointing” is quite the word I would have used 😉😉 Although I am pleased to hear that you & the DGCs had such a lovely time at Whipsnade Zoo 😊 I hope that both you & DGS4 are both OK 🙏 At that rate you will soon be sick of driving 😥 Pleased to hear that your buyer has somewhere to go & everything crossed that your EA & solicitor can get their act together 🤞 Excellent work with the packing 👏 & good luck 🍀
Broke off to do the prepping for tonight’s dinner. DH seared the meat (beef) which is now slow roasting + he chopped the cabbage whilst I prepped the potatoes & carrots & did the washing up.
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Moving house or maybe that should be ‘trying to’ move house is so stressful that I sometimes wonder why anyone ever moves 😥 🤨 Mind you having said that there must be thousands of house moves that do go smoothly 😉 Some great decluttering 👏 & now that you are speeding along with decluttering your craft stash it won’t be long before you are tackling the storage sheds 😊
GrannyKate, well done on munching the frog 👏 I hope you had a lovely Sunday lunch 🙂
Wednesday2000, good luck packing for your holiday in Cornwall 🍀 I would be curious to know if you are successful with 3 tops & 3 bottoms 😉 Hope you were successful in dyeing your trench coat 🤞
Happy_Kitties, I love the idea that decluttering “it really is good for the soul” 😊 More excellent decluttering 👏
Liverpool_Anne, wow you got more done on a Sunday than I get done in a week 🤩 Sorry to hear that your proposed visit to your DNiece has been cancelled 😔 Hope your OH is feeling better today 🙏
Great work BudgetingBelinda 👏 Would you like to pop round to clean our car inside & out 😂
It stayed dry until about 18:00 but has rained on & off since then. Dinner was delicious 😋 The meat was melt in the mouth & DH made a very tasty gravy from scratch 🤤 Leftovers are wrapped & in fridge. Wudupa
1735 - 1738 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, glass jar, plastic bottle - recycled
1739 Kitchen detritus binned
Excellent decluttering Muddy_Walker 👏 Your number of 360 has taken you way past the halfway point so a Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 🥳 I am also awarding you a medal 🏅 for reading so many books 🤩 Re the ironing - definitely a rebel 😂 Sorry to hear that October is such a bad month for you 😔 so sending 💐 & cwtches 🤗
Excellent decluttering & tidying mhagster 👏
Fizz2015, sorry to hear about your back & neck 😔 Hopefully the chiropractor will start you on your journey to a full recovery 🙏 Perhaps you can reward yourself with some chocolate when you have listed a number of items for sale 🤔
Pennypincin, not to worry 😉 I am sending decluttering vibes 😔 - just one item a day to start with & by the end of the month that is 24 items gone 🥳
Excellent decluttering London_1 👏 Are you sure there isn’t any thing else that you can pass on to your grandsons 😉
I have made a start on catching up with the cheerleading, so am off to bed & will try harder tomorrow 🙂 Sleep tight 😴

Good morning declutterrati's
thinking about it again, the spare electric toaster can go to my DGS Jack as I'm pretty sure he doesn't have one .At the moment we have two a four slicer that is DDs and a two slicer Russell Hobbs on that is mine so mine can go. He is coming down to visit us at half term in his new car, so it can return to Kent when he goes back. A large suitcase has been decluttered as I really don't need it and it was only stuck on top 0f my wardrobe.I used it to pack all the lines sheets etc when I moved and I'm not likely to need it anymore.
I am getting really good about getting rid of stuff now, if its not been used in 6 months its goingOn sunday I decluttered some clothes to the Sally Army bin in the nearby supermarket . several pairs of jeans and a couple of jackets (all too large for me now). I'm hoping for a clothes shopping trip with DD as she has a week off at the end of October and she's good at finding stuff that suits me.
Forecast is stormy weather today so I may declutter some paperwork this afternoon
Have a good 'Chuck-out-Tuesday' chums

I like the notion of chuck out Tuesday. I will set to in a bit. I put some washing out but not sure it will do anything. I had a lovely roast beef Sunday lunch at DS2s thank you. IT here seems to be going to pot but hoping to limp through until move now. Hearing appointment yesterday and I am definitely deaf in right ear as I thought. Second appointment next month for full hearing test than I will be referred. Right jabs next week then I need to get a dentists appointment again.
1129 Audiology appointment
1130 Papers sent out for committee tomorrow
1131-1138 Books to CS bag
1139-1140 Two full bags to CS shop - registered for gift aid there as well as I go there quite often
1141-1146 In date stuff from pantry to DS2
1147-1148 Two more boxes packed - living room almost done (16 boxes and 2 bags)

Morning all.
I'm jealous of your sparrow hawk siting Mrs SD. One thing I miss about the old house is all the bird life in the woods behind the house. Don't miss the mess on the car but do miss the nature. When we get the bird feeders out again, it might encourage more than just the odd pigeon we've seen so far - used to have jays, the odd thrush and black birds all the time.
I'm amazed you have anything left to declutter @vulpix 😆
More wallpaper was decluttered last night:
881 - 885: bags of wallpaper
and the bathroom is definitely heading for the skip today so will count all of that when it goes. Think the wall that needs to go will be an end of the week job as the plasterer has 3 rooms and the downstairs hallway to finish first before he takes that out (apparently demolition is his job as well).Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201714 -
Oh, Ruby there's stuff to go believe me.
It's addictive, Once you start you see stuff you don't need everywhere. I am down to the very small stuff now. I just don't like to bin stuff unless I absolutely have no other option.
I have just had part 2 of my shingles vaccination.
Having 10 minutes then I will look through the toy box. This is difficult for me. I have saved the toys so long, will a little longer hurt? I have had decluttering blocks before with Kitchen / party crockery etc and also with clothes, shoes and bags. It took a little while but I pushed through and released such a lot. I don't want to give the toys to my Grandson as DIL wouldn't want the clutter but I know from working with children for years that he would get a lot out of playing with them at my house even though they are old. Learning comes from all sources, kids are just so adaptable.
Mr V has gone to my Mother's house to meet the second valuation guy. He was supposed to contact me with a time. He didn't so I phoned the office. They had given him the wrong phone number and he had been to the house and of course no one lives there! Luckily he wasn't too far away and has come back again. Doesn't fill me with confidence.
Craft club later where I hope to get some ribbony, Christmassy bits used up on making gift tags. Whilst I am out n about, a large bag of stuff for the chazzer. Mostly Christmas stuff from when I cleared Mum's house earlier in the year. Also stuff I was saving for bit by bit's MIL's church fundraiser.
When we get a minute later, we hope to book a holiday. Slimming has commenced.

Good afternoon fellow declutterati 🙂 Up slightly later today 11:45. It had rained overnight but is currently dry, bright & sunny with a stiff breeze & and a forecast high of 17°C. DH walked to & from the surgery to get his Covid booster & flu jab - round trip of 45 minutes. I spent the time organising bags for the CS & CEX - I now have 4 evenly weighted bags. I will be delivering the first 2 bags tomorrow as DH & DSis are going for a jaunt in the car 🙂 DSis is currently doing her washing & I have settled down to catch up with the cheerleading 🤞The EDT has picked up speed again now that we are into the last quarter of 2024 😉

Lovely supportive post vulpix 😊 Well done on completing the tote bags 👏 & good luck with the bunting 🍀 I love that you are so far along your decluttering journey that you are giving away buttons & pins 😅
Excellent decluttering TC77 & well done on setting up the standing orders 👏
Excellent work 2Scratters 👏 You certainly had a busy Sunday & got a lot done 🤩 Very impressed at how organised you are especially in respect of packing for your holiday to Tenerife 👏 So pleased that you wrote down what you accomplished & have realised how busy you were 😊
ruby_eskimo, sounds like the renovations are proceeding swiftly 😊 How exciting 😝 Well done on being so successful with your decluttering that you can fit stuff from both the office & living room into the kitchen 🤩
2Scratters, our sparrow hawk has been unsuccessful…….. so far 😮💨 It reminds me of the silence after a heavy snowfall - quite unnerving.
Brie, your comment did make me chuckle 🤭 Although looking back at my post I can understand the confusion 😉
Excellent work QueenJess 👏 It must be a relief to get all that laundry done 😅
mhagster, I have always struggled to understand why people don’t just take the bags home & try again later - like you have done 🤔
vulpix, well done on completing your sewing marathon & reducing your craft stash so much that it now fits in the under-stairs cupboard 👏 I do love it that now DD1 is back on the mainland you are ‘returning’ all her bits & bobs for her to make the actual decluttering decisions 😉 Good luck deciding what to keep from the box of toys 🍀
My concentration is flagging now, so I will post this & resume later. We have had a couple of short showers & it is starting to get dark now 16:50 🙁 I hope everyone has/is having a good day 🙂

Hello.A big pack of paper sheets ( used for packing) given to friend this evening. She works with kids so it will be used by them.Bags still in car as oh my goodness the amount of overflow bags surrounding the charity bins!10
-
Well, that didn't go as planned. Went through the boxes of toys. 4 games and 2 dolls for the charity shop. So far so good. I listed 5 vintage baby dolls and a bag of accessories on market place. I now have a new best friend,Jacky from London. She contacted me to say they were far too cheap and proceeded to tell me where to sell them, what price and how to collect the money! Cba, but thank you Jacky for sparing your time and enthusiasm for vintage dolls. I was doing so well too.
So I am keeping my life size baby doll,Susan and for now 6 cabbage patch dolls. I thought I was doing so well to list the other baby dolls, advert now deleted. There is also a huge children's tea set which DIL has said she might want and puppets, and, and, and. So I still have 2 large plastic storage boxes on the sitting room floor.
Busy tomorrow dropping off a car full of DD1's stuff in Sheffield.
DS and DIL are visiting in a couple of weeks so I will wait and let DIL have first refusal of everything. If not for DGS but for her work or his nursery. She is SEN coordinator at a large school.
Whilst in Sheffield I will see about selling a gold and opal bracelet that I have never worn.
The holiday we wanted was sold out so we booked for next April.
My post vaccine arm hurts more than I was expecting but better than having Shingles.
It wasn't gift tag making day at craft club and I hadn't taken anything else. So another 6 tags made.

DGD Katie and the family holiday to Florida has now been moved to next Sunday because of Hurricane Milton The children are a bit too young to understand much but at least hopefully they will be able to go
But Virgin have ben really good, and its not their fault its safety first for everyone. I do hope those already in Florida can get to somewhere safe as it looks like its going to be a bad one .
My eldest DD and her family when the children were small got caught in one about 20 odd years ago and she said it was terrifying, although the two children thought it was exciting !
My daughter phoned me to say they were all sheltering in the bathroom of their hotel and they were in the bath with the mattresses over them off their beds.It was what the hotel advised everyone to do ! for safety
dropped some more odds and ends off at the CS in Ryde today, I'm getting really ruthless at decluttering

Morning all.
Not sure how to count this but the bathroom and a wall are now in the skip outside our house. Will probably round up to 1000 for all the things that have left the house now. DH even threw a few things in there that weren't from the bathroom and we told our neighbours to chuck stuff in there if there's space as a way of making up for the noise 🤣
Also have now sold all 4 items I'd listed on ebay so those will be more things leaving the house soon!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201711
