Hi,Mr V has been in the loft to get our small suitcases down for our trip later in the week. The temperature will struggle to get to 10 degrees on the islands. Winter woolies ready. All there is of ours in the loft is carpet pieces, a towel rail and 2 large and 2 small suitcase. I also have a modern dolls house I was given. I will wait a couple of years to see if it is something visiting children will be interested in. If not I will pass it on.There are quite a few boxes and bags which belong to DD1 that will be delivered to her house in the near future. There is also a rail track that belongs to DS. I WILL get rid of the kids stuff. I don’t want to be in the box of rocks situation in 40 years. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I seem to be nesting, tidying drawers and cupboards. I have made a to do list I will crack on with it when we get back from our trip.To go to the charity shop,8 coasters. I still have about 12! Some I will revamp to sell at the Christmas fair.Vx:15

Happy birthday Pennypincin. 🥳:13

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Well that didn’t work 😅 I couldn’t get to sleep 😔 After over an hour in bed I got up, had a cuppa & did some reading (as it was raining so hard I was having difficulty hearing the telly 😱) It rained from just gone midnight & was still raining when I went back to bed @ 07:30 😔 Good news is that I slept through to 12:40 with no bathroom visit & the rain has stopped 🙂 (although it is still very dark 🙁) Now up with my 1st cuppa. DH has been up for a while watching the MotoGP races. He has also tested all the batteries & now has a bag of dead batteries to drop off at the sm. Needless to say as it poured on & off all day we decided against working in the garage 😉 Instead we both did next to nothing 😔 although I did some knitting. We used an HF recipe card for dinner - rump steak with dauphinois potatoes & green beans 😋 Wudupa.
1654 - 1657 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, small cardboard box, glass bottle - recycled
1658 Kitchen detritus binned
Monday 03:39 & it is hammering down 🌧️ I will set a timer for 90 minutes & will cheerlead then post - here goes

vulpix, excellent & eclectic decluttering especially dealing with so much paperwork 👏 Good luck sourcing the decorations 🍀
Liverpool_Anne, relieved to hear that I am not the only one who falls asleep on the sofa 😅 Another busy day on Friday 👏 How wonderful to have frogs in your garden 🤩 I would be wary of getting any ducks as they might attack the frogs 😱 Lovely cheerleading & I do hope you can find some suitable decorations for vulpix 😉 As to my yarn, I still have plenty left as at one point I had over 200 balls ………….……. I just went & checked, I have 81 balls 100g balls of yarn left + a smallish box containing about 2 dozen scrap lengths of varying colours 🙊 I do hope you managed to get a couple of hours sleep yesterday & that the football result was favourable 🤞
Deni_debt-free_dreamer, the trouble with a busy working week is that you can struggle to find time to relax 🧘♀️ let alone declutter 😔 Great work completely 10,000 steps per day 👏

DH has been steadily tidying the back garden for the past few days and what an improvement this has made. He moans every day he should have done more, not sure how much a not well man should be doing but he always thinks it should be more. This last bit of summer has been very good for him and enabled some of these things to happen. Fortunately his body knows better than his head most times and lets him know to
A couple of dresses tried on and they have been advertised for now. 2 lots of free to go arranged for pickup today. This is more of me letting things go for now I even threw away my first fountain pen( Parker even with its original nib undamaged and yes I did like to write with it). It had lost its top and it has been hanging around for some time now. It was just my memories.
I have spent some time with my small wardrobe space as needed to take out the bottom rail to accommodate my long coats and dresses from the back bedroom (soon to be new kitchen) I had noticed my tops had depleted as I had been working on them during the summer and space had been created. Some items will need to be moved into the loft to make way for winter clothes. I also need to keep back some summer items for when I am away with the girls at the end of November and am planning on what will not be coming home
Hopefully with Sis1 taking back up her slack I can do more of this moving stuff out.
2 Scratters xxAnything is better than nothing-check back and see

Hi all, couple of busy but not much decluttering days
. Saturday I was at the football, which was better than last week
and the rain held off until I was just about home so that was good but the traffic was a bit manic as we had a big demo happening in the city centre and the Labour party conference was gearing up to start. The only decluttering was the lr bin. On Sunday we were out for lunch with OH's family so we had to leave the house before 12 and got home just before 6 and the m way was tricky with lots of rain and spray. The meal was ok. Nice food but not a lot of it and on the expensive side in a restaurant with pretentions of fine dinning and a dress code
. Being veggie the vegetables are the main part of a sunday roast for me not plate decoration which was what it appeared to be in this place so I had to have a pud
. I thought this was a meal for OH's nephew's birthday but apparently it was just a family meal but the birthday gift and card were delivered. We are having another meal for his birthday next month. When we got home I persuaded OH to do some sorting so 5 cardboard boxes broken down and recycled and a bag of other carp binned and the gas cupboard top cleared of an accummulation of post. I am claiming these as I did the persuading and the carrying out to the bins
. As it is my birthday soon things have started to come in, a small parcel from Dniece and a bag from OH"s sister. I have opened the cards but not the presents yet
Today we are out again, we are meeting up with the mother of the groom and the wedding cake will leave the building. It has been decorated and boxed
I have shopped from home for my outfit and now the ironing board will be free I can get it pressed and hopefully tackle some of the other ironing
.
@TC77 I use moth things from the land of lakes in my wardrobe and draws, smells of lavender and seems to work. After the moth attack I got really annoyed and went down the assassin route
@mehefin hugs
@Vulpix, no worries about the wooden decs. I think mine are / were about 20 years old and probably from the Swedish shop. If I spot any older ones on my travels I will let you know
@Mrs SD well done on sorting out the officeI am very attracted to that filing cabinet
. I have a thing about having lots of draws
. I wish I knew Dniece secret too
. She is very organised and focused and with her DH they seem to split the jobs and make quick decisions unlike me
, I am easily distracted and take ages to make a decision. I think it helps that they have family who are trades so can tap into the network as well
@Pennypincin I need to start my Christmas shopping, next week when the wedding is out of the way
@GrannyKate fingers crossed with the house paperwork
Right need to get weaving if I am to be ready to go out.
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Ooo, Anne, the perils of badly written words. I meant I would love your decs if they come to hand. Sorry for my florid, obscure writing style. Vx:12

"Finished" making the to-do list. Divided it by room in the house that I am responsible for (not roommates' rooms) and by subject (Financial, Family, Pets, etc). Scary, but have already done some of it. I am also noting if it requires money or if I can do it at no cost. Makes a difference on my budget. Considering asking one of my roommates to leave. He is becoming toxic to the other roommates and that is not good. Owes me a lot of money but I would make it up in about a year with a new roommate. I won't get it from him - that is for sure.
I wish we had a little of your rain. The forest fires are over 30 miles away and going the other direction so no danger to me but a lot of houses already lost: need rain desperately. I am still having to water plants only (no grass, drought conditions). Still warm here. Not bad today, but yesterday was 29C. We are still having warm month (25C plus everyday predicted). Hard to plan for winter.
Needs to get Di motivated to clean up before I will be able to make any progress here. I am going to start with my closest bathroom list (have two) and my bedroom list and work through them. See if that helps mentally.
Tomorrow I see the doctor to get the results of my MRI on my lower back. I can only walk with assistance right now. Hard to get my walker around the house though.
Take care everyone.13
