Morning all
Glad to have decluttered a very busy work week at my FT job. I've also decluttered one task for my self employment job, 3 more to go...
I've been trying to get in 10k steps every day, went for a walk with my friend yesterday before work and dropped off all my soft plastics at the c00p enroute.
I've booked a gardener for a couple of weeks time to sort out my garden - he'll be decluttering all the weeds and brambles...
@vulpix your advent calendar sounds lovely !
Love to all
Deni

Good morning
Those of you who follow the O/S daily thread will know I decluttered Mrs M after a very short aggressive illness in August. The aftermath has meant a massive declutter of all sorts of things, particularly paperwork in search of the elusive marriage certificate ( needed for her civil service pension claim). I am not counting things, just doing what is necessary at the moment . My plea to you all is that you collate/save/put safe any significant paperwork in one place and let your partner/whoever know where it is kept. I have spend a considerable amount of time searching for important documents which have been put somewhere 'safe' but not knowing where that safe place was. I saw an advert on FB the other day which referred to these tasks as 'sadmin', how apt!
To date I have destroyed paper pay advices dating back as early as 2000, pension statements from 2005 ( from a provider she no longer had a pension with) and enormous amounts of receipts and general bits of paper. Several pairs of beyond useful life shoes.
new underwear donated to the local care home via NDN who works there and was extremely grateful.
Several BNWT items to CRUK shop
A large donation of cash also to CRUK.
It is the tip of a very large iceberg and although it has to be done, it will be done piecemeal as my mood lets me.
Take care all and never give up the thought that you will win eventually.
Mehefin

mehefin, I am sorry for your loss. Very good advice to us all there.
Liverpool Anne, thank you for the offer. I would prefer older type decorations if I can find them as I am sure they would be better quality than modern day ones. It sounds like you are really getting on top of the garden.
Deni, I have to admit ,it is not my finest work but cba undoing it all !I need to buy some dowelling and cord today so it can hang. I will post a pic when it's done.
Right, Mr V now home, off to distribute my decluttered bounty to various places.Vx:16 -

TC77 said:and many hours as energy supplier didn't call and still taking legal action against DD1 although have in writing taken out of the legal process as they investigate (and then nothing til court claim) and no detail of how they calculate debt. Rang Citizens advice, ofgem, debt people etc and legal advice..... will write to energy people again as clearly incompetent and inflexible, 146

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Saturday is another bright & sunny day with a forecast high of 23°C. Up late again 12:20 😔 Unfortunately it has now clouded over (14:00) & it rained at 15:00 - quite disconcerting as the sun was also shining brilliantly 😉
Liverpool_Anne, wow you have been busy 🤩 Excellent & eclectic decluttering & completion of tasks 👏 Grr to the speeding ticket 😡 I am sure TPTB do it on purpose - change a speed limit whenever they need to generate a bit of cash + keep extra people employed teaching their grandmas to suck eggs 😖 Good luck to DNiece re the house renovations 🍀 Hopefully you have managed to catch your DNiece & can arrange a meet up 🤞 Really sounds like she needs a bit of rest & relaxation 🙏 Pleased to hear that the jackdaws aren’t causing any issues 🙂
Excellent decluttering Rootle 👏 Shame about the paella dish especially as it doesn’t seem to have been particularly old 😔
vulpix, yippee to internet issues being resolved 🥳 Such a shame about the house move but totally agree that there is no point moving for the sake of moving 😔 Better luck next year 🍀 I am thinking that possibly people are waiting to find out what happens in the Budget next month 🤔 Although I am pleased to hear that the sale of your Mum’s house is still a possibility 🙏 Great news that DD2 wants the massive family Bible 🥳
Thanks Moorviews, we still have a lot of work to do but we have made a very good start 😉 Great work sorting out the camping equipment & garden furniture 👏 I agree that it is the end of summer 😔 but it has been so lovely to have an Indian Summer with lots of sunshine & reasonable temperatures 😊
Fizz2015, everything crossed that all your hard work will result in getting the needed support dealing with your daughter’s behaviour 👏 Good luck with this weekend’s decluttering & tidying 🍀
Lovely cheerleading post vulpix 😊 I hope you enjoyed yesterday & managed to treat yourself to some TLC 😊
Muddy_Walker, very pleased to hear that the 24 minute sessions are working so well 🥳 Sounds like you had a marvellous evening 😊
I have caught up a little & as DH has finished watching the MotoGP qualifying I will join him in the office to continue the decluttering/tidying 😉
Hope everyone is having a good day 😊

@mehefin my condolences.
Also, thank you for the reminder about doing sadmin. I live alone but have 2 x grown up daughters and haven't organised my paperwork around bank accounts, my house, pensions (which would go to them) etc in case there was a need ...

My condolences,@Mehefin, and thanks for the sadmin reminder. I’m going to start by getting it all in the one place and send a photo of the bureau to my children as well.
Hugs for anyone who would like one.16 -
Flying visit. 2 bags to CS - DSis has been decluttering this week (it did include packaging but the CS is happy to have bubble wrap etc) and one last week. DSis is making excellent post surgery progress but isn’t looking forward to radiotherapy starting on Weds for just over 5 weeks. We’re anticipating her being very grumpy….. we have however plotted in some post radiotherapy outings. If anyone has any tips about making radiotherapy less unpleasant we’d love to hear them please.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)
