Hi, I've been to the tip and taken all the cardboard packaging from my new sofa; loads of plastic plant pots and some random carp from the garden. Also recycled 4 plastic coathangers in Sainz; didn't realise they recycle all brands of plastic hanger so will be taking more next time I go
Hope everyone is ok and has enjoyed some sunshine today

Monday afternoon I had the follow up appointment with the clinical pharmacist. When I checked in, I discovered that unbeknownst to me the appointment had been rearranged from 14:00 to 13:45 😧 so good job I arrived at 13:35 😅 I needn’t have worried as he was running late so I finally got in at 14:15 😉 Handed over a week’s worth of readings which he logged & whilst he was doing that I explained the reason for Wednesday’s higher readings & the headache. He was very ‘disappointed’ with the doctor & apologetic on their behalf. Good news all round - pharmacist is happy that the meds are working & my BP is no longer high + he checked the ECG & everything was normal & fine 🥳 There is now an electronic prescription with the pharmacy & I just need to turn up when running low on meds 🙂 I walked out with a spring in my step 😊 Caught the bus into CW & banked my PB cheque then bus home. I arrived to find the Smart meter fitter still there with both DH & DSis ‘supervising’ 😂 The chap had arrived about 15 minutes after I left. He had changed the electric meter & was just finishing with the gas meter - he had been tidying up as he worked. After testing that the boiler & the heating worked, he packed up his tools & was gone. It had taken him just over 2 hours 👏 DH & I had another late lunch - bowl of hm soup. I spent the rest of the afternoon knitting & watching TV whilst DH spent the afternoon getting his computers to work 😉 He had trouble getting them to reboot after the change of meter 😥 He had to resort to stripping them down & cleaning all the filters & innards which were clogged with dust 😱 Everything now AOK 🙂 Dinner was cold pork, mash & baked beans + a small portion of lo roasties sliced & shallow fried 🤤 Wudupa. Weather wise it had been a lovely autumn day with a high of 21°C.
Tuesday is a slightly duller day - not as much sunshine as yesterday. I was supposed to be going to the dentist but rearranged as I woke up feeling rather washed out - I hadn’t realised quite how stressed I had been 😰
short_bird, thanks for the reminder 👏 fortunately DH was on the ball 😉 Interesting article, I was especially taken with the statement “…. what you need to do is start behaving like you’re the hotel manager of your own home” Fortunately my foray into buying pretty storage boxes & jars was short lived - they were always way too expensive & I was way too mean to buy them 🤣
Great idea Muddy_Walker 👏 Good luck 🍀I know from experience that the 24 minute sessions work, it is just that in my case I often forget to put the timer on 😉
QueenJess, I do think that most of us probably do try various methods of tidying & decluttering and if we persevere we eventually find what works best for us 😊 Usually a blend of ideas & if we are inventive/lucky we get to our happy place at minimal financial cost 🙏
13:45 DH has just gone out on the bike - picking up his meds & just to make you laugh he is also picking up new storage items for the garage 🤣 However it is a direct replacement for unsuitable storage. I will be cleaning up the old storage & donating it. DH spent some time in the garage & the new storage is now all set up. Now he just has to label & fill all the pots 😉 As opposed to my DH I did nothing today apart from a bit of knitting & watching TV 😔 It stayed dry all day but only a couple of hours of sunshine. As I had forgotten to take anything out of the freezer, DH made cheesy pasta for tea 😋 Half of the cheese sauce has been potted up for the freezer. I did do the wudupa.

Liverpool_Anne, at least you balanced out being busy with being lazy 👏 as opposed to my total descent into laziness 😂 Hopefully the conference will be interesting 🤞Good luck with the next round of clothes sorting 🍀 Just wondering if the jackdaws let any of the little birds have some food 🤔
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 Pleased to hear that you have found at least a temporary solution to the clutter in DS’s room 😊
Excellent work vulpix 👏 You have been a busy bee 🤩
Excellent decluttering Deni_debt-free_dreamer 👏
Unsurprisingly having dozed on & off all day, I am not tired 😔 however I will be going to bed as soon as I have posted this 😉 Cwtches to all 🤗 Sleep tight 😴

I have been decluttering some odds and ends and came across a book that I had got in a CS on the IoW.Halfway through it I found a nice photo of a couple who had obviously just got married.
On the back were their names and an address and date.If anyone knows them or lives near the address I would be more than happy to pop it in an envelope and post it to them
this is what's written on the back
September 1971
Maggie and Adrian (Basil & Corner)
No.6 Cilgerran Court,
Llan-yr-afon,
Cwmbran
Mon.
(nr Newport)
They both look very happy so if there is anyone out there who knows them or a relative or friend just pm me and I will happily post it to them
Goodness knows how it got from Wales to the IoW I've no idea but it was tucked in half way through a book called The Negotiator by Fredrick Forsyth
The bridegroom looks like he's wearing a naval uniform
Hope it can be found a home, even if its for a descendant I know its 53 years old but someone may recognise the names or place
Regards JackieO xx

Morning Peeps,
Finally caught up with all the goings on here again.
I need to drop FB it is stealing my time and not good for ones head
Currently my progress is still small and slow but still moving. Put some items in the loft on Monday I had a bit of a route and tidy about, not that any of this is noticeable to DH if he went up (which he doesn't as he claims it's my domain - I can't argue with that) also had a mooch around following my rules I have to at least match or raise above contents to be removed. It was a success yay! I have 2 of those items planned to be collected today.
Been decluttering money from savings as we got the whole roof and facias and guttering replaced a new front window reduced slightly too in the process and getting ready to fully remove the back bedroom window to put in French doors(not my choice, it had to be a compromise by me) as its going to be turned into the new kitchen.
The lazy sister is attempting to cover her shifts with being at mum and dads for the first time this week. Not sure how long she'll be with them during the day, not my problem right now, I am enjoying the time away for now as I am shattered. The lovely weather is such the bonus too.
Off to catch some Vit D
Hugs to those if you need

MrsSD Thank you for my two gold stars, I'm so pleased to have started posting my decluttering for this year.
I've had a re-count of my hair mousse stockpile and I have 2 less which I must have used up so I've adjusted my numbers.
Other items have left the house:
1 ood food item binned
very hard paintbrush
toothbrush
washing up glove
a bag of soft plastics
unopened in date jar of coffee from pantry to food bank
I've got 2 weeks off work now and tomorrow I am off to Bristol for a first time stay and also a day trip to Bath. Thunderstorms are forecast for 2 days so I'm packing my brolly.

11:00 - Good morning declutterati family 👋 Just the one bathroom visit. Wednesday is another bright & breezy day. The sky has cleared a lot & the sun is out 😊 The forecast is for a high of 24°C. I woke up feeling a lot brighter, so am dressed & have sorted the laundry into loads with the 1st load in the wm. The wheelie bin has been emptied & has a new black bag & I have dealt with today’s mail including filing & shredding. I have also got around to admiring DH’s handiwork in the garage 🤩 Pic below
1597 - 1599 Newspaper, office recycling, booklet - recycled
London_1, fingers crossed that someone contacts you 👏 It would be lovely to reunite the photograph to a family 😊
Thanks Wednesday2000 😊
2Scratters, you have been busy 👏 Sounds like major building works have been going on & well in time for winter 🥳 I do trust that when the new kitchen is built & the French doors are in that it will be DH who cleans the glass 😉 Fingers crossed that ‘lazy sister’ has developed a conscience & will start pulling her weight with her shifts at your mum & dad’s place 🤞Hopefully the sun will continue shining & you can rest, relax & top up your Vitamin D 🙏
You are most welcome regnbue 😊 More excellent decluttering 👏 I will be keeping everything crossed that the weather is kind so that you can make the most of your break🤞Hope you have a lovely relaxing time & enjoy exploring Bristol & Bath 😊
All caught up 🙂 The 1st load of washing is pegged out on the whirligig & now DH’s motorcycle trousers are in the wm. I am only washing & drying them as DH needs to send them off for repair 🙁 I have also watered the plants (@ the base) as the sun is now shining brightly & I didn’t want to burn the foliage 😉 DH now has a large box & is clearing his office desk. I will join him shortly to help him clean & organise & hopefully declutter loads of stuff 🤞

Evening all, (echoes of dixon of dock green). Been absent with so much going on and a few days in Italy (motivating me to think about eating better). DD2 just gone back to uni, nearly finished painting her study/airing room but need someone to finish off the very top. Moved shelves in her room which wouldn't fit in her dad's car but she took a small set with her and palmed off other things on her (but others left behind).
Estimating my nos as 1300 which may overestimate but lots of frogs going on, DD2 being chased by energy company with court action but they haven't provided their calculations and admitted meter faulty but around 12 hours spent so far! got bill for £195 on mobile when away, caused a panic and chastising DDs but then found they charged me a penalty which they agreed not to! Still working on car settlements and vet fees/insurance.
About 10 small items out off DDs room as I checked on it, glass, and 2 plates and bike lock in CS bag, pair of swim fins picked up, and pillow case in textile bag 1317.
DD2 may not be back to Xmas so gives me an opportunity to sort things properlynot heard that one before.
Not caught up but read about being your own hotel manager and read the article - made me laugh and also wince, as I look round at the no of containers that appeared a few years ago!
Mrs SD glad to hear medication is doing its job, and love the v organised garage.
Hope to be more of regular and catching up with everyone's journeys. x
