Hi everyone, sorry for being AWOL. Life got busy & I got out the habit of posting.
DD2 has been temporarily decluttered to SE Asia as she is on her travels, she's now half way through her trip. I miss her but she's having an amazing time.
I've decluttered my large corner sofa to the CS and bought a smaller sofa - this is to make the house look better in preparation for selling next year hopefully....
I've shredded lots of confidential work notes today and put them in the recycling along with lots of card packaging (from the sofa).
I've given DD1 some packaging for her v!nteD sales.
I've decluttered a day a week from my FT job! Now working compressed hours over 4 days. Only just started this and I have other employment but I'm hoping to reclaim my weekends (so I can do more decluttering
Will try to keep up with posting and decluttering.
love to all
Deni

Sneaks in……..helloooooo!
well as you all know I’ve had 2 weeks leave and was looking after a Family Member plus dog…..it has been chaos. In a good-ish way I must add but I got very little done of what I had planned. If you remember I had a wobble as did nothing one day? It all got a bit much for me and a good friends parent had passed away as well so I was trying to support her too…..bit of a black day yesterday (black days for me are when the loud voice kicks in telling me I’m useless and a failure etc etc) so have had an entire workout of emotional weightlifting.
Anyway - I’m better today and just had my treatment so things will even out soon.
the friends mums funeral was very lighthearted and lovely with beautiful flowers ❤️
The FM now has a house so has left us and taken all their stuff plus dog. It’s so quiet!!!! Dog2 who was in lurve was slightly devastated but then realised his ears were being left alone (visiting dog still a puppy really and played very roughly). Dog1 just opened an eye as if to say “bye then. Don’t slam the door on your way out.”We did get some garden done and I unearthed a massive ants nest from a huge pot - yuk - and we think wasps have made a home in the incinerator thing we have. I haven’t moved that fast inside for a very long time 🤣 Dog2 got stung yesterday, hubby got stung today…..I’m taking no chances!!!!
Well that was a lot of waffle! Hope everyone is ok and WeeNancy you are safe where you are. I could not do those temperatures at all!!!!!

Friday was bright & sunny but cold only 6°C overnight & 14°C at noon. Only set to rise to 17°C today. I have given up waiting for the dr to call 😉 but pleased to say that yesterday my BP readings were not as high as Wednesday 😮💨- the meds appear to be working 🙂 I have written a menu plan & shopping list & have collected 3 cardboard boxes from DH’s office which have been broken down & recycled.
1563 - 1566 Newspaper, 3 cardboard boxes - recycled
DH & DSis have just headed off in the car (13:45). So after making myself a cuppa, I am taking the opportunity to descale the kettle.
London_1, the joy of living on the Isle of Wight shines through in every post 🥹 With such excellent medical service, I think we might all move to the IoW 🤣 Congratulations to both DGS Mikey on his job & DGS Jack on his new to him car 🥳 Hopefully you will enjoy being a Shady Lady although I am rather sad that it is only a ‘painting & colouring group’ 😉 Your new hearing aids sound brilliant especially the ‘off’ button 😂 not that you would ever use it 😉 Thanks for the reminder about the huge price hike for 1st Class stamps - I will be popping out to P.O. to stock up.
oceanspirit, sadly the ‘Paddington stares’ don’t seem to have worked 😞 Oh well, no news is good news 🙏 As your ‘Master List’ is working so well for you, I have decided to give it a go & will be writing one up over the weekend. Wish me luck 🍀
Lovely post ruby_eskimo 😊 Thank you for the kind thoughts 👏 After the higher BP readings on Wednesday, they have gone back down to pre stress levels 😉 Great work saving food from going to waste 👏 & good luck selling the top 🍀
Pennypincin, yippee to selling the bō staff 🥳 Pleased to hear that you are having some success in reducing the contents of your freezer 👏🙂 I am still trying & have only been writing small shopping lists for DH. The silver lining to temperatures dropping is that we will start making soups again so will be able to use up quite a few bits & pieces over the next few days 🤞
retiredinfrance, this “it took our move to France to make DD and DS empty their rooms, at least 10 years after they left home” had me laughing like a loon 🤣🤪 Excellent decluttering 👏 Fingers crossed that your lemon tree produces soon 🤞It will be so gratifying to have a G&T using an hg lemon 😉
vulpix, helping other people move is so much less stressful than moving oneself 😅 Thanks for the reassurance re my BP. I will mention the headache although I do think that it was probably down to not getting much sleep whilst worrying about missing the doctor’s phone call🤞 You are definitely ‘fighting fit’ 😊 Fingers crossed that your Mum’s house (& resident rock collection) is sold 🤞
Happy_Kitties, I hope it wasn’t a favourite mug 🙏 Thank you for sharing the story of how & why you started gathering up ‘neutral items’ & making up boxes 👏 I am in awe of how generous you are 😇
Welcome back charlies_tribe, lovely to see you 👋 Hopefully all the hoops you have to jump through for the Fostering process will soon be completed 🙏 as it sounds very stressful as well as time consuming 😥 Well done on managing to get so much decluttering done 👏
15:10 - I broke off here as I needed to finish descaling the kettle - just in time as DH & DSis have arrived 😮💨 Shopping is all put away & DH & DSis have hot drinks 🙂………. 16:30 DH has made a beef based soup.
Great decluttering & tidying crazybunnylady4 👏 I hope you are having better weather today 🤞It does sound like the new owners are sorting things out indoors, just wondering if they have cleared the eyesore that was the front garden 🧐
Floss good observations 🙂
crazybunnylady4, from your comment it sounds (to me at least) like the house might be being set up as rented rooms with a shared kitchen & bathroom 🤔
Dinner was ordered in - burgers & fries. Wudupa.
1567 - 1569 Kitchen recycling, paper packaging, drinks cans - recycled
1570 Kitchen detritus binned
Liverpool_Anne, very pleased to hear that you managed to persuade someone to be the union rep 🙂 Fingers crossed you find your original master list 🤞 & remembering how curious I am, I am hoping you will share your comparisons 😅 Hope the weather stays dry whilst you are helping set up the mosaic 🤞
Deni_debt-free_dreamer, no need to apologise for being AWOL 😉 life has a way of intruding 😔 DD2’s SE Asia trip sounds amazing & so pleased to hear that she is enjoying herself 😊 Just wondering if she is travelling solo or with friends? Excellent decluttering 👏 & I see that you are already planning for a potential move next year 🤩 Hope the compressed working days are not too tiring 🙏
Nice to see you Muddy_Walker 👋 Nice or not, chaos can be rather tiring, so I hope that you are setting aside some time to rest, relax & recover 🙏 I am ‘wagging my finger’ & reminding you that decluttering negative thoughts is still decluttering 😊 I am sending lots of cwtches 🤗 & flowers 💐 Eek to both the ants nest & the wasps nest 😧 Sorry to hear that both dog2 & your DH have been stung 😔 Keeping everything crossed that you can avoid being stung 🤞Good luck in getting rid of the nest 🍀
Brie, am I correct in thinking you are heading to Canada? If so I hope you have a wonderful time & that you get to see the Aurora Borealis 😊
All caught up so will finish my drink & head off to bed 😉 Sleep tight 😴

Hi all, just checking in before I have to get organised for the union meeting. I should have done it last night but I was so knackered after helping with the mosaic I literally fell asleep on the couch after having something to eat while watching gardeners world
. The exercise will do me good
. Apart from that I had a very lazy day. 2 loads of washing through the machine but they are still on the line as they weren't dry by the time I went out and it was dark by the time I got home but the forecast is dry for today so I will check them between the meeting and the footy match
. The other thing I had on my list was to phone my dniece but after a text message that has been rescheduled for Monday. She is currently staying with my sister until they head off to Andover for a house sit
@Vulpix I am sure they would love to look after your cats, part of the job for them usually is looking after the pets but I don't think they will have time this trip as they now have a house to sort out. From what I can gather it needs at least a new kitchen and bathroom plus decorating elsewhere. I am just in awe that they think they can get it done in about 6 weeks though her DH is very "handy" and can probably deal with the plumbing and my dnephew is actually a trained kitchen cabinet maker though he doesnt work at that now so he might be persuaded to help after he gets home from the current tour and apparently a nephew is now a tiler so he has been roped in to help. I might get dragged in myself depending on when we visit
I think they might be shocked by the price of materials now though
. Any news on the house sale front for you?
@Muddy_Walker sorry to hear you had a bad day, honestly you are coping with so much you really do need to put yourself first, big hugs
@Mrs SD glad to hear the bp is coming down, the whole stress of the tests are probably what sent it up plus waiting for a phone call that didn't happen, hugs.
Right better get into the shower and get sorted
Hugs to everyone who would like one
STILL 1399/2024, must do better
Take care everyone

Hi you busy lot, hows tricks? Massive hugs all round. You lot are so amazing and you don't know it. Generous, supportive people who selflessly do for others every single day in so many ways. Think about it, you all do it!
Bon voyage Brie.x
We had a lovely time in Manchester. I loved The book of Mormon. Happy Christmas, that was our Christmas presents to each other.
Absolute time wasters at the viewing. Comfort ate for the rest of the day. The interested woman for my Mum's house has gone very quiet too.I am trying very hard to be a grownup and accept my disappointment.
I have listed the patio for sale that I bought to extend the garden. Someone is interested but I/we will have to bring it all down and lay it out because she wants the measurements. Not a quick job to do a 10 ft jigsaw. But a potential big de clutter. There is a quantity of rope top edging to bring down and sell too.
Mr V is on his way home from his breakfast shift which started at 5 am. We will then empty the car and we are off on an adventure. I have bought a small opticians display case. It looks small in the photo's anyway! I love a bit of quirky.
Mr V now itching to go. Laters Vx

Just did my first week of 5 full days and it was a bit of a shock to the system! Definitely can't fit everything in, so decluttering/tidying etc is at the back of the queue at the moment. Only another 3 weeks and then I'm back to 4 days again and slowly wind down until I leave in November.I've started looking at my winter wardrobe now that the weather has got a bit colder and realised there are gaps as well as clothes I didn't wear last year. So I will be (very slowly) going through that and re-tailoring it. Just went through dresses and got rid of all but 2 of them! Might need 1 more to come in to get me through the winter. I'm having fun scouring the second hand clothes sites when I'm too tired to do anything else.Still thinking about DS's room, but he got the message on his displays when he heard DH say he was worried his stuff would fade on the window sill and they've magically disappeared from there and are put back in his pull out plastic drawers. It feels a lot calmer already!1 - Kitchen cupboard overstock used up

Hi everyone
Mrs S_D - DD2 is travelling with her boyfriend - they actually met in Thailand when she went on a short travelling trip during her gap yearI really want to visit that region now!
I've decluttered 3 pairs of glasses today - someone put an appeal on Fb for specs especially children's pairs as they are going to South Africa to do eye tests etc so I dropped them round.
I've been working at an event today for my FT job (so doing 5 days this week!). My boss wanted us to serve hot drinks and dispatched me to the SM; I was very pleased to find some reusable coffee cups, and also bought 4 x teaspoons and a plate for biscuits! So we didn't waste anything as they will be used again and again
Hope everyone is ok and has a lovely evening
Love Deni

262) a rogue random knitting needle dispatched to a friend
263)- 268) shoeboxes x 6 dropped off to the organiser today.
Busy day today, the first of the 3 big batches of neutral items dropped off ready for the organisers to make up Christmas parcels. The house isn’t looking so decluttered as yet of neutral items but with the next big drop off happening soon, this will help considerably.474-674 Neutral items x 200 dropped off. I didn’t count all the items individually, things like a five pack of shower gel was counted as one unit.Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
