Oops, having gone to bed so late I woke at 07:15 for a bathroom visit then slept through to 13:15 🙊 Surprisingly I did not have a headache when I woke up 😮💨 I now have my first cuppa & am contemplating what to do as it is bright & sunny plus slightly warmer 19°C 🙂 DH up & dressed 20 minutes later & now having had a coffee is pottering 🙂 First task vacuuming the footwells in the car. Then he dealt with the wormeries - a tray of worm cast from each added to compost bins, washed out the sumps & rearranged the trays + finally fed the worms. I have finished a longish thin scarf in feather & fan stitch + plaited 4 bookmarks + dealt with today’s mail. DH spent more time in the garage tidying up. Dinner was the lo mushroom risotto made into breadcrumbed ‘cakes’ & shallow fried with salad leaves on the side. Wudupa. DSis & I watched SCD & already have a couple of favourites 😉 We then watched the programme on Channel 5 celebrating 20 years of SCD - Secrets, Sex & Scandals 😉 Very entertaining 😊

Our "new" secondhand cabinet arrived yesterday so I had lots of fun arranging the overspill from the kitchen. It feels so much better now everything has a place. I didn't realise how much it was bugging me. I will be doing more cooking at home to save money and because I prefer cooking in Autumn, batch cooking soups and curries. I think I will buy a butternut squash in my shopping next time to make soup.
I also sorted out my toiletries drawer yesterday and it is half empty, which is good as I have a habit of buying extras.
It has still been lovely weather here and it is meant to be nice next week too. I was going to sell my Kindles on Amazon as you can get a voucher or something. I will do that next week.
I booked some tickets for the cinema and the theatre this morning to have a few days out to look forward to. I have been reading so much lately that I think today I will just catch up on YouTube.
Did people on here see that Sort Your Life Out won a NTA? I did vote for that show.

Oh gosh. Was playing Lego with DD and DS and discovered DS had given loads of pieces to DD, but she was drowning in pieces. I pulled out all the minifigure pieces so I could put them together for her, get her to choose the ones she likes and get rid of the spare extra pieces/figures. Took ages (although DD helped), then somehow at the same time I was presented with bags of Lego to sort out from DS he wanted to get rid of. Finally worked through it all and now need a lie down (not helped by being very tired from work and having a half cold thing I'm trying to fight off).Tons of Lego gone which must be a plus... fewer bits I can step on!1,125 - Lego bits (Buy Nothing)

Rain, rain, go away, come again another day.
The patio is sold but being collected tomorrow due to today's rain.
I have started to take some of DD1's stuff down stairs for three reasons.
1. There is a viewing on Wednesday and it might help make the room look slightly bigger. This will mean there is only a double mattress shoved behind the bed!
2. It is going to live in my gardening shed for a bit and the piece of mid century furniture that is in there can be sold.
3. We might be able to squeeze it on the removal van when we come back a day earlier from the Shetlands than DD1 and OH.
I am loving the opticians cabinet. the drawers are a bit stiff but I think it's a bit damp from the house it came from. That too will be living in my shed for a bit.
It has reminded me of when I started nursing at 16 as a nurse cadet. My first placement in the hospital was at the eye clinic which was open with curtains round examination beds with a few rooms off. There was a set of huge drawers with big trays of glass eyes. All colours, all shapes all sizes. The consultant dropped a tray and with really loud noise the eyes rolled everywhere! It was me who had to hunt them all down from the all corners and under beds and cupboards. What excitement! hahaha ... and I had to wash em all after.
I am happily using food stocks up. I made an onion and tomato thing yesterday, the remains will become a base for soy mince bolognese today. Wate not want not.

Super decluttering rampage this weekend. Hallways done! House is back to each room doing and having in it what it should! 4 months of building work was displacement central. But it made me be ruthless and having to consistently sort and declutter big frogs. Feeling tired and content tonight. Makes me feel so much more in control and finances also getting there alongside. It’s all coming together! With less clutter comes the visual reminders of decorating that needs doing but not yet! Next year will be painting times I think. Oh to be in a clean fresh house! 🤞🏼
I’m also more organised with meal plans, grocery shop and working towards a wish list of things for the house and garden. Falling back in love with my lovely home ❤️❤️❤️Emergency Fund: 1000/2000April Grocery Challenge: 150/550

Good evening. Friday we finally got the car back from the garage and £700 decluttered to get its mot.
We had GDG overnight so she kept me busy most of Saturday. Didamage a drawer after DDs and a bit of the DSs room.
Today has been the shelves in the utility. Still 1 and a bit to go but it's looking tidier. A bin liner filled with stuff to go. Tomorrow we have another busy day so not sure how much will get done.

Slowly sorting bits out as we are awaiting the builder coming to start the renovations for the kitchen and my sitting room.
I found several expired covid test packs dated December 2023 so they have been decluttered as very out of date. I have started a new 'read and recycle' to CS book bag.
Also for some reason DD found various odd socks in a bag that for some reason she packed when we moved ,none of which made a pair, too tatty even to use and dusters "more holy than righteous" as my late Mum would have said
so they too have been decluttered Tomorrow I am hoping to try and put all the various photos into one big plastic lidded box.I seem the keep coming across lots of odd envelopes with them in so they are all going to be in one box and any frames found are also going to the CS.
Its weird decluttering still, even though we've moved in I still keep finding bits and thinking I really don't use or need that anymore
Oh well onwards and upwards chums
Hope everyone has had a good weekend, the weather has been glorious, and we have a week ahead of us thats forecast good as well
JackieO xx
P.S. I have a Kindle which for some reason will just refuse to charge up , but then it was only found when I moved house two months ago, and it turned up when the moving men moved my very heavy chest of drawers It had fallen down the back probably about two plus years ago, and just run out of charge.
The light comes on but the battery just won't charge up I think it will have to be binned ,shame really as its got a nice pink cover on it as wellno idea what else I can do with it

Another late night on Saturday, bathroom visit 07:45 but also 10:55 & instead of getting up went back to bed & got up 13:05 - luckily no headache. Sunday is another bright day but not quite as sunny although temperatures set to rise to 21°C. I have my first cuppa. DH has filled the bird feeders & has just binned a bagful of empty sacks having filled all the bird feed bins - large order of bird food arrived yesterday. DH & I had a bowl of hm soup for a late lunch - delicious but quite spicy 🥵

I spent the afternoon & evening watching episodes of TWD - now over halfway through season 8. Although I did make dinner - roasted pork, potatoes, carrots, parsnips, hg tomatoes, Yorkshire puddings + cabbage, crackling & hm gravy. Delicious 🤤 Enough pork for another 3 person meal & a couple of sandwiches 🙂 A small amount of lo vegetables & gravy which have been added to the soup. Hopefully will tone down the spiciest a little 🤞

Lovely post Liverpool_Anne 😊 Wow you have been busy 🤩 I hope yesterday’s union thing went well & that you enjoyed the football 🤞Fingers crossed that your niece & her partner can get all the work done on the house especially with other family members helping out 🙏
vulpix, pleased to hear that you enjoyed your early (or was it late 😉) Christmas present 😊 Grr to the time waster viewer 😡 Re the potential buyer for your mum’s house, just wondering if she is having the same issues selling her current home & maybe that is why she has gone quiet 🤨 Good luck selling the patio & the rope edging 🍀 Hope you enjoyed your ‘adventure’ 😊
QueenJess, although tired after your first 5 day working week, it does sound like you are enjoying yourself 😊 The fact that you have worked so hard on the tidying & decluttering (t&d) should mean that even with t&d being put on the back burner your home should remain pretty tidy 😊 Excellent work sorting out your wardrobe 🤞& good news that your DS picked up on the comment about “…items fading on the window sill” & has put everything away 😊
Deni_debt-free_dreamer, very pleased to hear that your DD is not travelling solo 😮💨 Fingers crossed that you manage to visit that region 🤞Great decluttering 👏 & well done on doing your bit to save the planet 😊
Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties especially of neutral items 👏 Way past your target of 500 neutral items, so a Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way.
Wednesday2000, that sounds like very useful extra storage - a good purchase 👏 Excellent work sorting out your toiletries 👏 Good luck selling your Kindles 🍀 I didn’t know that SYLO won an NTA award but I did see that Davina McCall won a special award 🙂
QueenJess, medals all round 🥳 One each for you, DD & DS 👏 Some child will be very happy with all that Lego 😁
Shame about the rain vulpix 🙁 but well done on selling the patio 👏 Fingers crossed that DD1’s stuff will fit on the van 🤞What a great story about the glass eyes 😂
Excellent work all round BudgetingBelinda 👏 You have got so much done that I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ - congratulations 🥳
charlies_tribe, ouch to the cost of the MOT 😣 Excellent decluttering especially impressive as you were looking after DGD 👏
Excellent decluttering London_1 - by both you & DD 👏 Well done on identifying extra bits to declutter now that you are almost fully settled in 😊 Love your Mum’s saying “more holy than righteous” - brilliant 🤩
And breathe 😉 All caught up so off to bed. Sleep tight 😴
