Hello declutterati chums. @Moorviews , it took our move to France to make DD andDS empty their rooms, at least 10 years after they left home.I have been decluttering in the garage, while searching for a little wheeled stand for a big plant that has to come indoors- a lemon tree grown from a pip by DH - no lemons so far , but DH says we need to wait!. @Mrs Salad-Dodger, like you we have “floor space still with stacks of stuff to be sorted”. I found it, not where DH thought it would be but that’s why we declutter, I said. So, out
1 pile cardboard
1 pile small bits of wood
more plastic
more glass
2 empty ant sprays
and of course,
6 books
pile ood medicine,
Total203+13=216/366
Hugs for anyone who want one.18 -

Good morning from a bright & sunny London (10:00 a.m.) 👋 Blue sky, sunshine but oh so chilly - just 11°C & only set to rise to 15°C 🥶 Last night I was in bed by 02:15. Broken sleep - waking at 03:15 & 05:00 for bathroom visits but then slept through to 10:00 when I got up & dressed. I have a slight headache but will have my first cuppa & hopefully will not need a pill 🤞 I was hoping for a message left on the answer phone but no such luck 😔 So I have decided to try not to worry about it & will mention to the pharmacist next week when I have my BP meds review. The cup of tea is working its magic & my headache is almost gone 🙂
weenancy, I think I need to join you in writing up a Master list - however frightening it will be 😱 I am very pleased to hear that the temperatures are on a downward trend 👏 Now our Declutterati family just need to do a rain dance for you 🤞Sorry to hear that the car repairs were so expensive 😔 & that you have a list of advisories for future work 😔 I must confess that I never really did any spring cleaning so autumn cleaning is unlikely to happen 😂 Please stay safe & fingers crossed that your DSis also stays safe 🙏
vulpix, this “I had a master jobs list but abandoned it now I have decided to move.
A bit extreme. My list just has renew passport on it and pot up some plants from the garden. If I move, I will be back to a jobs book, not just a list! I have a page per room and also garden page.” made me grin 😁 I hope that yesterday’s house viewing went well 🙂 - another reason to catch up on the cheerleading 😉
London_1, what lovely childhood memories 😊 & thank you so much for sharing them with us 👏 Your mum & dad sound like visionaries 😊 & that large garden sounds marvellous - fresh homegrown vegetables & keeping chickens as well 🤩 Nothing beats cooking & eating a freshly laid egg especially when you know exactly what has been fed to the chickens 😃 Hope you are enjoying the new hearing aids 🙂 Just wondering if they have an off switch 😅
Wednesday2000, never did get a call 😔 I would like to thank you for your reassurance & hopefully no call means no issues 🙏 Sorry to hear about your mum - that was very young to have heart attacks 😞 Excellent work sorting out the airing cupboard as well as your underwear & nightwear drawers 👏
Liverpool_Anne, I would describe the last couple of days as more than reasonable 😊 You managed to get a lot done 👏 Especially impressed with how much work you did in the garden 🥳 Also well done on finding such a novel way to tackle the bramble challenge 👏 It sounds like your rose is very hardy - I was always under the impression that rose bushes were rather fragile & didn’t respond well to hard pruning. I might just have to consider finding a spot in my garden for a rose 🤔 Like you, my tax was always sorted by my employer so when I started receiving letters from HMRC stating that I owed tax I was also flummoxed 😶 Now though I just wait for the 2nd letter advising me that they have or will adjust my Tax Code 😉 I told you I was lazy 😅 As to your current method of decluttering, I do hope you still have enough mugs 😅
daisy_1571, very pleased to hear that you are finally getting some sunshine 😊
vulpix, thanks for the reassurance about the ECG 😊 Still no phone call but more importantly no ambulance has turned up 😅 I am by nature a worrier - usually for other people so this is a novel & unpleasant experience 😞 Fortunately I have my DH & our Declutterati family all reassuring me that no news is good news 🙂 - now I just have to convince myself 🙏 That 1730’s house sounds perfect for you & how wonderful that MrV also loves it 🥹 I for one will be keeping everything crossed including eyes, that your viewer on Friday falls in love with your house & puts in an immediate offer 🤞🙏🤞Perhaps you could have TWO housewarming parties 🤨 One when you move in - we can all come along & help you clean & tidy & do the heavy lifting 😉 Then the 2nd one when you have completed the work 😉 I am getting quite excited 😝
weenancy, lovely memories 😊 & thank you for sharing 👏 I can definitely imagine your dear mum & all the other mum’s being grateful that their kids were happily occupied & not getting under their feet 😂
Lovely cheerleading post Moorviews 😊
Almost caught up but flagging a bit now (although my headache is gone 👏) so will stop here & come back later 😉 The sun is still shining & I should mention that the recycling wheelie bin was emptied on time again this week 🥳 Sending cwtches to all who need or want one & hope that everyone is having as good a day as possible 🤗

Mrs SD, Thank you for the offer of help.I have that in writing and will hold you to it!
Mention your head aches to the pharmacist, I get head ache when my blood pressure is up. And don't worry about that either, I have had raised blood pressure and taken tablets since 1991 and you have seen that I am fighting fit.
Just nipped in to say someone is showing proper interest in my Mum's house and resident rock collection.
Gotta rush.
Hugs all round. Vx:16 -
256- another mug broken and binned.257-261) 5 items given to a friend. These were neutral items that had taken up residence. Neutral items are stored for 10 months at the most, any longer they are either an item to go off to an appropriate charity or sometimes friends will take items if it helps them out.I can just about cope with them for 10 months, even with storage I am always relieved when they are shipped out, plus they are then doing some good. It also means I can access the remaining birthday presents i have for the rest of the year and access Christmas items bought in the sales.
Neutral items
466)-473) I was asked by another friend for neutral items for a raffle for a cause she is involved in. 8 items passed along (which avoids shipping them out), never got a thank you. Another friend is very annoyed by this, I just find it frustrating.
Hoping for a big shipment out of neutral items this weekend, ready for the organisers to make up gift packs for very worthy causes at Christmas. The organisers have always made up some amazing gifts in the past and I am happy to support as one of the causes is a dementia care home. A few years ago I was visiting a friend in a care home on Christmas Eve taking their presents. As I came in through the entrance on the left was an office and on the desk were two piles of presents stacked, a present for each resident. A carer letting me in said about how many of the residents didn’t get visitors at Christmas and the image of the two piles of presents has always stuck. When my voluntary work journey started at 15, I volunteered on an elderly ward on a Saturday. Some school friends would use the opportunity if they wanted to go into nursing and one used it as they wanted to become a doctor which they did with great success. There weren’t the rules in place that there are now and certainly no training unlike now. It was great though, the residents were always pleased to see us, many didn’t have their families visit and this was back in the 1980s. I went on a Christmas Day as I had made them a Christmas cake and they were all sitting round a big long table with so much food, I have never seen anything like it, all wearing their paper hats, so happy.Hopefully I will be able to drop my shoeboxes off to the organisers aswell. I dropped one the other day as I’ve slowly been transporting stuff downstairs. This box seems to haunt me and I was forever redoing it with items. I kept hearing a rattling sound, I knew it was going to bug me so I opened it again. It was the sewing kit😬. So all parcelled up again with so much brown tape now holding this parcel together and then wrapped in paper ready for the parcels to go to the organiser for distribution into Eastern Europe and Ukraine. I do enjoy making up the shoeboxes but there is always one that gets the better of you every year!Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good afternoon. I'm sneaking back in. Can't remember when I last posted but I have been reading along with all the posts (eek, just looked, 25th July!).
It's been super busy here. We are going through the Fostering process for dd3s friend. We've now swapped rooms with the girls and so much has gone that I haven't written down. Sooo many appointments.
On Tuesday we had the boiler serviced so had to clear the floor of the utility room (going to tackle the shelves at the weekend) it doesn't seem that long ago that we did it. I've written what I remember going. Today I've done the bathroom and then DD2 asked if I'd help her sort through a shelf at a time of her things, so some things have left the house.
Just having a cup of tea before the other 4 arrive home from school/college/work.
3 pillows,
matress protector,
Dog bed
Shower curtain
10 items from bathroom
Duvet
2x pairs trainers
Bag of small bits from utility room
2 inches paperwork
5 plastic wallets
4 birthday cards
Gift bag and box (from the pan.... store)
Physical 2167/4048- going for double

decided to sort out some bits and pieces yesterday and today.
from the house into garage: 2 x tower fans, Mac's summer hutch and 2 x ice blocks - they are Mac's, made from special plastic he cant chew through.
switched around the storage in my room, have put away my sandals and found out my slippers. Couple of extra blankets and pillows sorted out as the cold snap continues and we'll have them downstairs to keep us snug in the evenings.
recycling and rubbish out for the dustman tomorrow morning - I'm really glad this is already done as we have just had a massive rumble of thunder and is now raining heavily! (edit: oh and now hail too)
seems the house next door (where the old dirty neighbours were) has been sold but it was never listed on any of the house sites so its a mystery - the only way we can tell its been sold is that the curtains have been changed and there is some element of house improvement going on generally. there is some drilling going on downstairs so not sure if they are fitting something along the main wall or just improving the electrics?
otherwise just plodding along. xx12 -

It's not the old owners tidying up they are long gone. According to one of our other neighbours the place sold straight away - even though it's a total dump!

Having decided on mushroom risotto for tonight’s dinner, I prepped the mushrooms early afternoon - they always take so long to peel & slice 😉 I also did the minuscule amount of washing up including taking out the rubber seal from the lidded cup & scrubbing it with an old toothbrush 🙂 Todays mail has just been delivered at 13:57 - good job I wasn’t waiting for anything urgent 😅 I will sort that out whilst watching an episode or three of Law & Order - coming up to the end of season 2. Only another 21 seasons to go 🤣 We have had a short rain shower (not forecast) & the sun has vanished. We have had a couple more spells of rain. Dealt with all today’s mail. DH spent some time in the garage putting up some new storage. The mushroom risotto was delicious. Wudupa

Hi all, very little decluttering in the last couple of days but I am not stressing
. The weather was wet on Wednesday so nothing done outside, well it did stop raining for a while but by the time I had got myself ready to go out it was raining again. The bathroom bin was emptied and the bathroom was scrubbed
. Yesterday I went to my old school and first had a meeting with the new head, who used to be the deputy so I know her, and then a meeting with the staff. A major frog was resolved as we were able to get a new union rep in place which I am very happy about, it should cut down on the number of phone calls I have to deal with. I also saw lots of staff that I haven't seen since I retired which was lovely
I am helping with a mosaic later today so I will get some steps inand I have a short list of things I want to do before I head out
. Last night prompted by the talk of master lists I hunted for mine but I have put the note pad in such a safe place I couldn't find it
so I have started a new one. When the old one materialises it will be interesting to compare them
Right better get the washing on the line while the sun is out. Hugs to everyone who would like one

1399 union frog
Take care everyone
