Brie, the cats would love some company, I am always on the lookout for cat sitters.
All applications taken.
My lovely cleaning lady will be coming to see the cats twice a day, she lives in the same street. Of course they will be most put out that the 24 hour butler and maid will be absent. The cats go to work all night, sleep all day then play the hokey cokey from tea time till it's time to go to work. Go out, come in ,go out come in ad nauseam. They are also a tag team, none of this coming in together nonsense! We should just fit a revolving door. Of course cat flaps are kryptonite to my cats so as soon as your backside touches the sofa one will either want to go out or come in. Actually I have taught Fomo to pull and push the back door if it isn't shut tight but of course he prefers the concierge service at the front door. Apparently if we are out they sit and stare in various neighbours windows telling them how badly treated they are.
Whilst in Lerwick we will all help fill the van. DD lives in the lanes which like lots of old places has no vehicle access. Everything is a steep walk to the road at the top of a steep walk to the road at the bottom. They are both working Friday so we can go out and about in DD's car.Leaving party Saturday. It will be hard for them, they love it there but life is all about changes. We are so grateful for our visits. I don't think we would have ever gone if DD didn't live there. I am a big believer in taking opportunities and risks.
I like Aberdeen too, I did a placement there during Social work training. DD's OH's parents live there. We are going to visit them next Monday when we get off the ferry at 7am. We are collecting a drum kit and a load of records that they have been trying to get rid of for years. Bit of a theme here, trying to get people to take their belongings away.
Just to add to the melee, we are calling in at Darlington or somewhere on the way back down, I have bought a table, not to use as a table but I am going to make it into a headboard.
Next time we are not rushing for the 5pm ferry we will come to see you Daisy x
The van is packed this end with drinks and snacks, Mr V will have me up half an hour before I go to bed. Bon Voyage Vx:14 -
Hi all,
Next door continues to declutter. The front garden is finally clear aside from a couple of pieces of furniture they are obviously going to discard in due course, about three bags of garden waste (plus a overflowing garden waste bin!) and some other odds and ends that look destined for the tip.
The back garage (which I can see if I look at the right angle from my bedroom window, I'm not nosy honest! lol) seems to have other pieces of furniture they are probably going to be discarding too. We can hear them some days/evenings doing various work like scraping wallpaper, hammering and drilling.
Clearly there's a lot of work still to be done - probably wont have new tenants until after Christmas now. Maybe the New Year?
Makes such a difference having decent people as opposed to trashy ones, not going to lie about that! Such a peace of mind over it - hopefully it continues.
Anyway on our side of things I moved Mac's run from the conservatory to my room. Its quite damp in the conservatory during the winter and although he went out there last year when we first got him, he seems to prefer his run space in the living room and in my room upstairs. He likes to be around us more than when he first arrived so definitely some progress has been made there over the last 10 months.
Have begun switching around my wardrobe for the coming autumn and winter months now the equinox has passed, havent got rid of much, just one top decluttered for the cs bag. But I did pull out a few other things I didnt wear much (if at all) and had a mini try on session.
Decided that a couple of outfits are suitable for work and another top is good to go with a dark skirt for mum's birthday. I have booked for afternoon tea at the end of October at a local hotel about 25 mins drive away. I just need to order her a birthday gift now - maybe I will browse for something tonight.

Good afternoon my fellow declutterati 👋 Didn’t do very well today as I didn’t get up until 13:20 😥 Although having said that at least the sun is shining 😉 Weird occurrence today - the recycling wheelie bin has been emptied at the same time as the general rubbish 🤨 I hope this doesn’t mean that the recycling has gone to landfill 🤞 I tried to find out on the council website but it was like wading through molasses 😥 DH dismantled the vacuum cleaner & discovered the motor unit has fallen to pieces inside 😥 He has ordered a new motor which hopefully will arrive Saturday - Evri dependent 🤞About 15:00 I put on my waterproof jacket & caught the bus to the Post Office to stock up on 1st class stamps & buy 30p stamps (as the cost of international stamps has also gone up 😔) I should have enough stamps for the next 2 years 😉 Then caught the bus to the pharmacy to pick up my meds for the next 8 weeks. Got home to find that DH had made soup 😊 Spent a bit of time on my accounts including adding October’s 1p challenge amount to my Terramundi pot 😉 Dinner was pork medallions, mash & peas. Wudupa. P.S the rain didn’t start until 21:00 & it rained on & off for the next few hours. About 03:30 it started raining heavily & now at 05:30 it is hammering down ☹️

Hi all, well a not very productive couple of days as I have been very distracted by not being able to find my driving licence. The problem is that I can not for the life of me remember when I last had it. I have a safe place that is where it has lived for about the last 15 years and it's not there but I keep doing the stupid thing of rechecking that place between looking in random other places where I might have been silly enough to put it. I was able to sort the speeding thing online without it as I have a note of my licence number but still it needs finding as it is on my mind
. Lots of carp has been binned or recycled during this process though so that is helpful
. Also done: flowers ordered for a birthday, blood test booked for meds review though I have to phone back next week for the nurses appointment as I have to wait so long for the blood test the nurses appointments are not on the system, flu jab booked, covid booster booked, 1gb of data removed from my phone, bathroom bin emptied, 1 pair of winter weight trousers into the cs bag as either I have grown since last winter or they have shrunk as they are too short. I thought about keeping them for the garden as they are very cosy but then decided no I have enough garden wear to keep me warm
this is progress for me
. Also another present arrived in the post so the box was broken down and put straight into the recycling bin
. I open the cards but don't open the presents until my birthday so I expect more wrapping etc will hit the recycling on Sunday
. Last night I was at the football
.
Today I am going out for a union thing as I feel the need to get away from the house for a while but I can't escape into the garden as it's raining again
@Vulpix stunning photo. Good luck with all the moving of things for dd
@TC77 take care of yourself first, get well before you retackle the clutter, your health is more important, hugs.
@London_1 ouch for the tooth, hope you're recovering well, hugs
Well I had better get on.
Hugs to everyone who would like one
