Up very late again - 12:30 but at least I missed the morning rain 😉 although it is very dark. Temperatures are only forecast to reach 13°C although at least they are still in double figures 🙂 Just wish we could send some of this rain to weenancy 😔 One item of mail I received has been dealt with - opened, read & then straight into the shredder 😉 Wrote a shopping list but there was no trip to sm as DSis not feeling well. I spent the afternoon knitting. DH ordered in - fish & chips for me, sausage & chips for DSis & kebab for himself. Wudupa. After the morning rain it stayed dry for the rest of the day but very chilly 🥶

1686 Kitchen detritus binned
Sleep tight 😴 P.S. I will cheerlead tomorrow 😉

Good morning Declutterati, from a sunny Lerwick.Rough trip up here on the boat, a force 6 I think. Got here safe and sound. The weather is great but 4 degrees. Mind we are at the same latitude as Alaska. Yesterday we packed the majority of the van. When I say we I mean DD and OH ran up and down the steep lane countless times. They then went to the gym!!! Before we went for a fine curry.
OH has currently gone to another island for a run. Mr V has gone down the street for a meaty breakfast we shall reconvene and do a bit more van filling. All the awkward bits left , bikes, guitars, hundreds of plants, big rugs etc.
The party starts at 2pm for the lightweights like us and friends with children. It will then carry on until the last man is standing.Have a photo from my bedroom window. That looks like the ferry coming back with the OH. He’s been and done a run and I’ve managed to eat a slice of toast and drink coffee.Vx:19 -
Morning declutterati chums
It's bright and sunny here and that airways helps lift my mood!
Still feeling overwhelmed with the house, it is very untidy as well as cluttered. I went into the downstairs loo and opened the cabinet. So much cr*p!!
I found out of date medicines and toothpaste and ointments the camomile lotion was 2017 and there was something that was 2005,! So 15 items were either binned or bagged to go to the chemist. Hoping to look again today and wipe it out maybe remove a couple more things. DH wanted to keep all the cough mixture and constipation remedies, which are out of date and never get used, at least not for 5 years!
Must make sure I take the bag to the chemist today, otherwise it will still be on the side in 6 months!
Also need to do banking and take some clothes back to the shop.
Have a good day all
Flowers x

Saturday has started bright & sunny but currently only 9°C 🥶 with a forecast high of 15°C DH came to bed very late as he had been watching the MotoGP Qualifying in Indonesia. I woke at 09:10 for a bathroom visit & decided to get up. I am snug & warm in my fluffy dressing gown & have my first cuppa. As I am so early (for me) I thought I would take the opportunity to catch up with the cheerleading 🙂
Welcome back GrannyKate 👋 Sounds like you had a lovely (if expensive) time in Provence 😊 Very pleased to hear that the Assistance provided at the stations was so good 😊 as it makes the journey so much less stressful 😮💨 Excellent decluttering by DS2 & hopefully he will soon pick up the rest of his stuff 😉 You have also been busy since you have been back 👏 So sorry to hear that your move is proceeding at such a glacial pace 😔
Good job I was up as the postman knocked on the door - the new motor for the vacuum cleaner has arrived 🥳 + several pieces of mail for me.
London_1, sorry to hear about the cold 😔 but very pleased to hear that it is not Covid 😮💨 Hopefully staying in bed & sleeping as much as possible will see you on the mend ❤️🩹 Meanwhile please try not to get too frustrated at the inactivity as I do know you like to keep busy 😉
Great work reducing your emails oceanspirit 👏 Sorry to hear about the fatigue 😔 Good luck with clearing the rest of the emails 🍀
Liverpool_Anne, even with the poor weather on Thursday you managed to get a lot done 👏 Very kind of you to help out at the union office 😇 especially with such a satisfying task as shredding 😉 Fingers crossed that your driving licence comes out of hiding soon 🤞
Great photos regnbue - looks like a completely new fence & gate 👏 Excellent work getting the bathroom, kitchen & dining room fully decluttered 🥳 That deserves a Gold Star ⭐️ which is on its way 🙂 Such a shame that your trip to Bristol was so wet & that Bath was a total washout 😞 Hopefully you will get a chance in the future to visit in more clement weather 🙏 By the way excellent holiday decluttering 👏
London_1, very pleased to hear that you are on the mend 😊 Hopefully a lot more rest over the weekend will see you fighting fit 🙏 Thank you for sharing such lovely stories about your grandsons 👏 So, so pleased that DGS Mikey has landed a PT job 😊 & it sounds like he has a very good employer as well 👏 DGS Henry has become quite the traveller 😄 I hope he enjoys Prague as much as I did when I went a few years ago 🤞 It is a beautiful city 😍 Sounds like the builder is getting on well with the work 🙂 I am just wondering if there is a timescale for completion of all the works?
QueenJess, sorry to hear that work has been so hectic 😔 No wonder you are exhausted & have succumbed to a cold 😔 Please, please spend as much time as possible in the TLC Carriage 🙏 Excellent decluttering of your wardrobe 👏 This “In fact I've left the door open so I can admire it every time I walk past” did make me smile but probably nowhere near as much as you 😉
vulpix, what a glorious view from your bedroom 😍 Your DD & her OH might have been doing most of the loading but I imagine you were keeping them well supplied with refreshments 😉 Enjoy the party today 😊 & hopefully the return trip on the ferry will be smoother 🙏
~FlowerPot~, an excellent start to your renewed vigour for decluttering 👏Hopefully the bathroom cabinet will yield a few more bits to be decluttered 🤞I did have a rueful grin at your comment “DH wanted to keep all the cough mixture and constipation remedies, which are out of date and never get used, at least not for 5 years!” 😁
All caught up 🙂 DSis is having a bath & DH is finally up having not gone to bed until 08:00. Hope everyone has a good day & that everyone has a dry day 🤞

This book, and it's very quirky title, came across my eyes this morning. The list of chapter names made me laugh out loud! It's far to expensive to buy.12

Gers, love it ! Reminds me of one of my favourite cartoons cut from a newspaper many years ago

I'm a bit of a 'counter of things' type of person, although I don't list my books read,so I can certainly relate to the first bit. The throwaway last line made me chuckle and I try to remind myself regularly. 😆 🤣 😂

flowerpot, well done on sorting the cabinet out. Its often fine keeping out of date medical stuff as long as he knows it might have lost all potency however maybe check medical advice carefully, just in case its possible to have turned from medicinal to harmful - I'm especially thinking things like eye drops in case its not just cough medicine and constipation stuff- I certainly wouldn't want to muck about with certain types of otc out of date stuff. Better safe then sorry with eyes for sure. I think I'd also be chucking anything opened whether he wants them kept or not. Once opened often medicine should only be kept 4 weeks and/or be refrigerated. Dont risk either of you hurting yourselves for the sake of a tenners worth of tablets.

Thanks daisy, I completing agree with you.
I am going to go through it again, but I've decided to wait until DH has gone out,!!!
I did how've sorry it the greenhouse, which is looking a whole lot better now, organised the plastic pots and piled up the ones to go. Weeded the small bed in there and sorted the Tom's, a few more to come but not many

@daisy_1571 - that is so interesting about one of your favorite cartoons. I just downloaded one of the panels from Steve's cartoon this morning myself into my save file. Steve Pastis, the author, lived here in Orange County, California, and I have met him before. He now lives further north in California. We discussed writing a Greek family history book. I don't know if he is still working on it or not. I have saved several of his cartoons. They come up on my news feed for my e-mail almost every day.12
