Lovely stories and photographs - I definitely need to get out more!
Almost fully recovered and managed to keep working albeit muddled.
Helped DD1 with her defence with energy company, appalled at their behaviour refusing to send information , promising calls and not calling, saying legal team say they can't give me details of vulnerable support team etc, that closing my complaint ... hey ho, I will move myself from them shortly (not that it will impact their huge profits!
Few things out and CS bag dropped off and a few more things added as sudden desire not be buried on things and should a house come up the slight possibility that I could fit things in a small fleet of trucks.
towel, garlic press, saucepan lid, magazine racks (x3), cardigan, 2 items sold and packaged and posted, ood food,
met DD1 to sign stuff, gave her 2 letters, toiletries, store voucher, hair clip things (19 in total)
Still a drop in the ocean, but nothing bought in CS. Few small frogs done
Will add nos later.
October hoping to follow up on pension stuff as definitely thinking of reducing hour or compressed hours next year at some point, and then think about stopping... but a couple of years off.
Mrs SD love the bookmarks, and noticed a local community group are running macrame workshops (took me back to teenage holidays)15 -

DH got a couple of cuddles from me 😉 Dinner was linguine in a creamy bacon & pea sauce 😋 Wudupa

Mrs. S_D - Congratulations on 32 years of marriage. At my nephew's wedding, they did a dance and had the couples leave the floor depending on how long they had been married so that the couples married the longest would still be out on the floor - the last three were my sister and her husband, our parents and my brother-in-law's parents! My younger sister told me once that she only knew one couple in her group that had been married for more than ten years. She herself has been married three times. I was always fastenated by the Survivors of Pearl Harbor magazines that showed the number of those celebrating anniversaries of 45 years or more. These people were mostly married before or during the war but were still married. In his local group, there were only two divorces and a couple of widowers but most had been married to the same person for a long time. Even though in some cases they had only known each other for a short time or had long distance courtships, the marriages lasted. My own parents had a two month courtship followed by two years apart for the rest of the war before marrying at the end of the war. Did going through hardship help the marriages survive, I wonder? My parents started their married life sharing half of a garage with another couple (who also ended up married for over 50 years). I think not expecting everything to be perfect all of the time makes a difference too.15

Hi,
Thank you for the Photo's and chat which helped keep me entertained yesterday. We got home 24 hours after setting off from Lerwick. Mr V was epic with the driving and van packing. It is a bigger van but even so we managed to fit a house contents in plus a drum kit and my new to me dining table.
At the moment I have an Indian folding fretwork screen as a headboard on our bed. DD1 wants it back now she will be very soon back in her own house. The table is the same make as my bedroom furniture so matches, and somehow I need to work out how to fix the table top to the wall. I scoured the internet for a suitable headboard but didn't like any of them, When I bought the bedroom furniture it came with a bed frame but I gave it away and bought a divan. It was just too big and dominated the room. Always got a project on the go.
DD1 and OH are making their way down to Sheffield with the cat. He had some calming spray from the vet fro the journey. They will be home about 3ish and then the hard work begins. Oh, OH broke his toe on their leaving party night, He has no recollection of what he did! He did go to the hospital yesterday as his foot was so swollen but there is no treatment other than pain killers. Couldv'e told him that, being the veteran of several broken toes!
The van has to be returned by 6pm.
We need to unpack quite a bit to get the table out at this end. We also need to man handle the mattress from our spare room out and into the car as the tenant had his own mattress. All very complicated but almost finished. Mr V will drive the van, I will drive our car.
Ah, the OH had an online interview Friday. He was offered the job yesterday so they both start new jobs Monday. If as I suspect they want to move back to Shetland in a couple of years, we will be very busy.To be fair DD1 has organised everything and very well she has done too.
Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs SD. xxxxxxxx
Need to get on.

Thank you for my gold star Mrs_SD.
Spurred on by the successful gasman visit and boiler repair I did indeed buy the teeny weeny lightbulb for my replacement bathroom light fitting (bought in February!) and yesterday rang an electrician.
Well the electrician has just left. I was astonished he was able to come out the next day and even more amazed he arrived an hour early, which was fine by me.
I now have a lovely new bathroom light which is clear glass and I think is going to make a big difference to the brightness in the room. I can't wait for it to get dark tonight so I can switch it on.
He also fixed my extractor over the cooker. The back door lock failed around 2 years ago and I daren't attempt to open the windows as I worry I wouldn't be able to close them (old timber windows whose replacement is at the end of a long maintenance list). Hopefully cooking in the kitchen will no longer feel like being in a sauna.
I've had a mini sort out in the RoD and after the electrician left I took a huge bag to the charity shop.
The following items have left the house:
32 lightbulbs
2 cookbooks
never used mug
2 ood food
6 other bits and bobs
Total: 43 items
Plus one Frog accomplished: Electrician visit
I hope to call a plumber today or tomorrow for the next jobs on the list but I do find phone calls difficult.
Keep going everybody

Tuesday another damp start to the day & only a high of 14°C expected. Surprisingly having got to bed so late I was up before 11:00 😉 So now I have my first cuppa, I will settle down & get on with the cheerleading 😉
Lovely chatty & informative post Liverpool_Anne ☺️ & NOT rambling at all. The wedding sounds delightful & I was so pleased to hear that your car park reconnaissance worked so well 👏 Sounds like you also had a marvellous birthday 🤩 just a shame that OH had to work 😔 Perhaps those people complaining about having to queue in the café should have got a cuppa before starting to walk around 😂 A quieter day for you yesterday so I hope that you managed to sort out the ironing board 🤞Hopefully OH wasn’t too exhausted after taking the baby swimming 🙏 Fingers crossed that the weather has improved today 🤞
~FlowerPot~ some excellent decluttering 👏 Every smaller tidying or decluttering task will make a big difference 😊 Good luck with the search for a new to you handbag 🍀
London_1, pleased to hear that you have recovered enough to enjoy a trip out yesterday morning 😊 but am very glad that you wrapped up properly 👏 I am also enjoying reading about your efficient Doctor’s Surgery 😊 although I am a tad jealous 😉 Shame about the way you lost weight but as is usual you found the silver lining “the Cardiac nurse will be pleased at least” ☺️ The added bonus is that you get to buy some new clothes 😉
vulpix the rain might have been biblical but at least you were heading home 😊
TC77, very pleased to hear that you are almost recovered ☺️ However, please remember to keep popping into the TLC Carriage 🙏 As it sounds like you need to de-stress from dealing with your daughter’s energy company 😞 Excellent decluttering 👏 & I am looking forward to seeing your new numbers 🙂 Keeping everything crossed that you can start winding down your working hours & that your pension planning will throw up some good results 🤞🙏
Lovely post weenancy 😊 I especially loved the idea of the dance with only the longest married couples staying on the dance floor to the end of the music 🥹DH & I receive a Staff Pension Scheme magazine from our old employer. DH looks at the Obituaries first whilst I look at the Wedding Anniversaries section 😅 Lots of Golden Anniversaries as well as quite a few of 55 & 60 years 🤩 Your last sentence “I think not expecting everything to be perfect all of the time makes a difference too” really struck a chord ☺️ I had the thought that the more lavish & expensive the wedding, the shorter the marriage 🧐 An interesting subject to while away a few hours 😉
vulpix, I am awarding MrV a medal🏅 for such epic driving especially with a broken toe 😣 I am also awarding each of you a Gold Star ⭐️ ⭐️ to add to your collections ☺️ Good luck with the rest of the unpacking 🍀 Congratulations to DD’s OH on landing a new job 🥳 They certainly haven’t wasted any time - talk about organised 🤩 I did catch the reference “If as I suspect they want to move back to Shetland in a couple of years, we will be very busy” 😊🤞Good luck converting the table top to a headboard 🍀
Excellent decluttering of tasks regnbue 👏 I do hope you are keeping a list of efficient & professional tradespeople for future reference 🤞I also hope that you have the same success with finding a plumber 🙏 Please don’t forget to pop into the TLC Carriage for some rest & relaxation 😊
All caught up 🙂 Forgot to mention that I have binned both the indoor & outdoor mats as both were useless 😔 The indoor mat has been replaced but DH has had to order an outdoor one 😉
1702 - 1703 Two mats binned
Have a good day everyone 🙂 sending out lots of cwtches especially to all our poorly declutterati 🤗

Happy Anniversary Mrs SD 😊💕💐
I’ve decluttered and cleaned the bathroom drawers under the sink 😀 a very small job but quite satisfying. The weather is so miserable I just want to drink tea and watch you tube until school pickup, but I must do a few more jobs. Washing is on. I made Banana chocolate chip loaf. 😋
I’ve sent DH old phone off to 🍎 but as the speaker is not working and you have to hang it in a specific position upside down to charge, I am not sure he will get 💰 he is hoping for 😂
just sold a brand new top so must post that. Also sold LO bike that she hardly rode 🤦♀️
She has asked for some new books, so I’ve ordered those too, preloved but like new 👍
LO is absolutely delighted she has the part of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz at school. She has a lot of lines to learn, and I think I must buy some red shoes 👞
Sorry I am a bit infrequent at posting but I do read along and I find it very motivating even though I don’t keep up with the thread it moves too fast 🚂11 -
Ahhh happy anniversary MRS SD, those flowers are beautiful.Managed to drop 2 bags to the cs just now, they have been sitting in the car for about a month, will now add 2 bags from the under stairs pile and pop them in the car ready. along with the OUD medicines and a pair of glasses. Todays job was to sort out the table, which I did, I cleared it. Then took photos of all the gcse study guides and posted them up for sale, there were 15!!!! No takers yet, but fingers crossed, AS now they appear to be back on the table!!!♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

Too many pages to catch up on!
Happy anniversary to Mrs and Mr SD. 😀 I met my husband 31 years ago this month.
I went through my wardrobe and decluttered quite a few things. I arranged it by colour and it made me realise I wear too much black! More than two thirds is black. I made a pledge to wear some colour everyday for the rest of the year.
I had a nice weekend as we went to Horizon 22 and then to Borough market and then to dinner. It was strange to be looking down on the Shard!
