@vulpix - have you considered using a piece of material, maybe a ribbed fabric or heavy burlap for fall and winter, as a headboard. Just attach to a rod to hang or fold over material, make a channel, and slip rod through and then you can even change it with the seasons.13

1371 from yesterday. Nothing out today but clear evidence of a problem as extra half an hour getting out of the house today looking for things.
Did wear a really smart jacket I picked up in cs about 18 months and got.compliment. think clothes are getting sorted abit but only one of many categories. Getting the magazine racks out yesterday was a move on the office supplies.
Happy anniversary Mrs SD and Mr SD. Love the flowers.13 -
Good evening chums, well plumber has finished for the time being, all the pipes are installed just need the rest of the builders to start work.Once the shower room/loo has been installed then it will all be connected up and tiled
We had a call from the chap whose doing the work, they are trying to source an exact match of bricks to start bricking the front bit of the garage before putting the window in, which will be the start of changing it from a large long garage into what will be my new sitting room.
Some chaps came this morning and took the garage up and over door down, and sorted the front footings out. There is about 4 ft from the garage where the door was to the stud portion wall that was put in to use the rear bit of the garage about 16 ft as an office/ spare room.
When finishes I should have a sitting room which leads into the hall (there is an existing door there already) so it will be around 20ft x 13ft. But part of it will be partitioned off for a downstairs loo and small shower room
I'll still have a nice sized sitting room for myself , with the added bonus of the third bathroom.
They are hoping to have the full team on it towards the end of this week as they are also doing a rejig of the kitchen so will have the builders in for about three weeks.
I'm hoping it will all be done by the last week in this month as three of my grandsons are coming down to visit us.
Tomorrow the new kitchen work top is being delivered quite where it will go for the moment I'm not too sure ,possibly in the conservatory at the back of the house that covers the width of the house so thats going to be full up soon.
I have spent a good deal of time making the young plumber and builder tea today.Tomorrow they will have to make their own as I'm off the the cardiac clinic at lunchtime (fingers crossed)
I am definitely going to have to buy some new clothes though, as so much in my wardrobe is really in need of replacing.
DD is pretty good at that, so I will drag her to Newport to the shops at some point soon and splash a bit of cash
She likes shopping for clothes something which I've never really enjoyed much. I've always had decent shoes and a good bed, as my late Mum used to say
"if you're not in one you're in the other, and its never good to buy cheap of either of them" Bless her she was a wise lady
So a lot of stuff will be decluttered from what we call the front garage and possible some bits from the back bit of the garage as there are still some bit we really don't need that can go
We will get finally settled in at some point though. I'm looking forward to being able to get a lot of stuff from my existing bedroom to go downstairs and getting my pictures up on the wall then it really will feel more like home at the moment everywhere I look there are boxes of stuff but then again we did move two houses into one albeit it was a bigger house we still had lots of stuffthe boys have mostly taken all their bits, but the youngest Mikey, who is at Uni in Essex still has an awful lot of boxes of his bits to sort out when he next comes home
but we will get there at some point I expect

Mrs SD, , Thank you for our medals. It is DD1's OH who has broken his toe, or the side of his foot more. I was just too lazy to keep typing DD1's OH!
Great photo Wednesday.
Weenancy, That's a very good idea about hanging a panel. I had one years ago of The wassail by Rennie Macintosh, But I am thinking a quilt would be just lovely. I only have a Christmas quilt at the moment but have been thinking I would like to do another hand stitched one. I will try to do the table top now we have it. not yet though as I think I will need some help with it.It is behind one of the sofas for now.
Out, the spare kettle given to DD1. Hers gave up the ghost. I don't usually have spares of things but we went through a phase of kettles breaking and this was a cheap emergency kettle when we needed a brew one morning.
Car and van unloaded, then we returned the van and came home, about an hour from DD1's house. They have made a good start on unpacking. DD is working remotely tomorrow and Thursday then actually physically in her new post on Monday.
I put my Halloween decorations out tonight.
Tomorrow the car is going to the paint shop all day to have a little scratch repaired. So glad Mr V did it and not me! Thursday Mr V is going to Brands Hatch with my step son till Sunday. British touring car races. My aim is to get the sewing machine out and do lots of sewing.
Take care all Vx:12 -

5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
DH filled the bird feeders before heading off for his first 1 mile walk - accompanied by my DSis. Fingers crossed that it stays dry whilst they are out 🤞It did stay dry & they were back about 25 minutes later. I finished the scarf & then tackled the laborious task of sewing in the ‘ends’ - there are rather a lot of them (58 😥) as I have used up all bar two small balls of scrap yarn. All done & yes it took ages 😉 Dinner was sausages, mash & beans. Whilst I was having a long luxurious bath, DSis did the wudupa 👏 It rained on & off all day.
1704 - 1706 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, cardboard box - recycled
1707 - 1708 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
ERNIE was kind again - £50 for me & £100 for DH 🥳
Just seen the time so will head off to bed. Sleep tight 😴

Hi all, the last couple of days have been a bit hit and miss decluttering. On Monday I looked at the ironing board but can't work out how to fix it so that might be a new ironing board required, I did do some ironing and it is useable but annoying. I ordered my meds and the bedroom bin and recycling were emptied. Yesterday I spent the morning at the union office but they were very disorganised and hadn't sorted much for me to shred so after quite a bit of faffing around I filled 1 binbag which I brought home and put in my bin. We have agreed that I will go to help them again but they will phone me when they have sorted it a bit more. My bin is quite full now so I have pushed it down a bit. Last night I was out with ex colleagues for tea and handed over over 150 plant pots
. I will count 15 for these as they were washed. The lady who took them also mentioned that she uses those plastic containers that fruit come in for sewing seeds so I have said I will save those for her, that should reduce my hard plastic that needs to be taken to the tip
.
Today the sun is out and I already have 3 loads of washing on the line. I am going to change the bed so that will be done tomorrow as we have sun forecast again but this time of year it does take all day to get stuff dry outside so no point doing it today. My bedroom is quite messy at the moment, aftermath of wedding and birthdayso I am going to sort it out and put things away where they will live or be used.
I have caught up with the posts but my brain is on strike after another late but enjoyable evening
Hugs to everyone who would like one
1470 meds ordered

"No. No restrictions. You can return them for a refund any time as long as you have the receipt."Now I think that is quite clear. And there was nothing on the receipt itself to contradict that. So today I took them back to the store as they were too small. And was told I couldn't have a refund as they were purchased more than 30 days ago. That was on 3rd Sept. Today is 3rd October. So 30 days was either yesterday or today depending on how you count it. They say it was yesterday. The manager was called over and rolled his eyes and said "Well everyone knows you only get a refund if things are returned within 30 days." I mentioned what I'd been told and he gave one of those sighs that says "what a stupid woman!" but then said out loud "well I'll allow it just this one time". When I continued to talk about what I had been told he added further "I'm not going to argue about it" and I pointed out I wasn't arguing but maybe the staff should be clearer or that there should be a sign or anything. At which point it was obvious that if I didn't shut up I wouldn't get the refund. So I shut up.Interesting to note that all of the staff were looking everywhere except at me or their manager.

OH and I saw something around here about ebay stopping fees to be paid by private sellers. So people like us rather than those that are running businesses. Don't know more about it but if anyone else knows please tell me because I've got a few things to get rid of that I want to sell and have never figured out how.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Just a quick post. Cold returned with a vengeance yesterday but seems to have gone away today. At least it has stopped raining.
1121-1122 Two boxes of books packed (10 boxes and 1bag total)
1123-1125 Three more frogs eaten up - two more lurking about
1126 Loads of emails deleted
Solicitor rang yesterday and asked about an indemnity policy I need (£72) and then started to talk about exchanging on 21 October - slight panic but I think that's optimistic.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟
