2024 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD

Hello everyone, I've had a productive day on the decluttering front. We had to go out this morning so called in the cs next to the tip which was really busy with people browsing and buying. I gave them 4 jigsaws, BN headphones still boxed, a PS with controllers and games, a TV and new freeview box and some toys, sadly they refused a bag of books as they were inundated with them. I put my blinkers on and bought nothing 👼.
More room of doom office deluttering done this afternoon and at last you can see the floor. Out went a bread maker, the pan jumps up annoyingly and the scrappy man will take that , 2 large stereo speakers from a hi fi unit that went out years ago, several computer programme discs, some old CD's and DVD's plus a large bag of wires, cables and assorted rubbish. 3 more empty boxes are in the recycling box, a large plastic box and kneeling pads into DH's shed and a large bottle of carpet cleaner is in my shed (didn't realise we had that). We found quite a stack of extra paperwork to shred too. There's still more to go and it's not a very big room, I don't know how it all fitted in there, it must be like the Tardis. MrsSD can I borrow the scarf you made, it reminds me of the Dr Who one and I could wear it in the room of doom 🤣
I was going to tackle my wardrobe again but that will have to wait for another day now, I'm worn out keeping and eye on DH, cracking the whip and saying you don't want/need this do you ? No, good and shoving it in a bag before he can change his mind 🤣
Hope everyone is ok, I have plenty of cwtches to give if needed.
Oceanspirit enjoy your meet up with friends at the weekend.
Well done to all for excellent decluttering.

I too gave up ironing about three years ago and don’t own either a board or an iron gave them away to my grandsons.
I’ve been moved here almost 3 months now and my tv is still in its bubble wrapping and occasionally I may watch something on my laptop
we have builders in creating a sitting room for me plus another shower/loo on the ground floor so a lot of my stuff is still packed up in my large bedroom upstairs so not worth unpacking and setting it up
To be honest I can’t say I’ve missed the tv much, the weather has mainly been good on the IoW and I enjoy a walk down to the beach and a coffee while watching the big cruise liners sail down the Solent and out to the open sea. Evenings I read mainly and I’m getting through my bookshelf stack of paperbacks then they get passed on
life is certainly different and I’m enjoying every bit of it at the moment
we’re hoping the builders will be finished just before half term as three of my grandsons are coming to visit. Jack having passed his driving test wants to take me for a nice drive around the Island in his car 🤣🤣🤣bless him he’s so looking forward to showing me how well he’s done
Ben wants to dig over the patch of garden we said he can have and to plant some potatoes in
and Henry just wants some home cooking I think 🤣🤣
Mikey can’t get down until Christmas as he’s at Uni in Essex and he’s also at long last landed himself a job in a fast food place to help his finances out 🤣
I’m still finding things to declutter though so it’s ongoing.
i have a big bag of clothes that are too big for me so they are definitely going and I shall splash some cash on something nice for the winter
apart from that alls ok at the moment 🤞🤞
I saw the cardiac nurse and after being remonstrated for forgetting my 6 monthly review ( I did explain moving was at the time a moveable feast depending on my DDs chain) We had to tie both sales up so we could combine the move into one huge lorry
We managed it ok but what should have been May ended up in July.
I spent a good hour and a half having a complete MOT ( they’re very thorough here) then had to go to the hospital for X-rays and will get all the results at my follow up appointment in 17th Oct so 🤞🤞🤞
Tomorrow DD and I have a tip run to do as she too is decluttering bits she doesn’t need that have been cluttering up the garage So it’s an ongoing thing still
But we will get straight in the end I’m sure

@Liverpool_Anne thank you, I spoke to ebay and they have got rid of final sale charge too so will try and list some things.
2 cards out for b'days along with vintage airmail letter to said friend in US saying excited she's coming over!
Some paper declutter, renewed home insurance (overdue), packed more things to take to DD2 tomorrow (hangers/ electronics, stationery / socks, posters, mugs etc (29 items) so 33 to add!
Haven't got removal quote yet but feels abit more than a babystep today.
Also best garden chair in shed (v cosy in there) and also cat carrier away).
Hope everyone remembers that any progress is progress and sometimes being in the TLC carriage is what's needed!

My thoughts too about the Dr Who scarf. ❤️
Ruby, you are doing the right thing having all the messy work at once. You will be all lovely by Christmas.TC, if I can give some advice, the same I have just given my daughter. Start and finish a room and then leave it finished and onto the next room. I would think having somewhere for guests to sleep is priority then other spaces they will use like bathroom, kitchen, sitting room. Just an hour a day will all add up. Xx
Liverpool Anne, my daughter has just taken the quilt. She doesn’t want it really but couldn’t bear the thought of all her Grandma’s work being sold for a couple of quid at a charity shop. I will ask her again if she really wants it. It is mainly navy with coloured hexagon flowers. I would be more than happy for you to have it. Is it you who has a friend with a quilting room?As for ironing, I do very little. Perhaps a couple of times a year. Mostly linen things. Another Aunt ironed towels and even tights! I don’t dry dishes either. I didn’t have a telly till I met old square eyes Mr V. I do admit that I do watch Gardeners World and a few other things nowadays. The giant plant has moved to Yorkshire. 🙌🙌
DD1 is buzzing. OH is down in the dumps about his foot. DD is full of ideas for a new bathroom, garden, decorating etc. I have just told her to do one thing at once or the whole house will be a mess and depressing to live in.Two and a half cushions made.Vx:15 -

Two pairs of glasses out to a charity that collects them, and old grubby glasses case binned. Which means I've actually passed the halfway mark - only 25 more things to go.
If I can just stop bringing things in to count them against this ought to be very doable. We'll see.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining
