6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Up very late this fine sunny Saturday - 12:30. Apparently DH came to bed at 08:15 but didn’t disturb me. One piece of mail waiting for me - a reminder to have both a flu & Covid jab - now I know I am getting old as this is the first time I have had this type of letter 😂 Changed the water for my flowers which bring a smile to my face every time I look at them 😊 Straight into cheerleading-
QueenJess, sorry to hear about your stressful Tuesday evening 😔 Some excellent decluttering 👏 & good luck with the tidying 🍀 Hopefully your DH will pitch in over the weekend 🤞
Liverpool_Anne, you have had a couple of busy days & got a lot done 👏 Hopefully you had a better night’s sleep last night & your arm has stopped aching 🙏 Some lovely cheerleading as usual 😊 I am rather enjoying the conversation about ironing 😊 Just as a thought, it might be that the only time our mums or grandmas got any peace & quiet was when they were ironing 🤔😉
daisy_1571 & Wednesday2000 - so funny 😹 🤣
oceanspirit, sounds like you are a having a lovely time 😊 I admire your attitude to TV as I know I watch far, far too much 😔 although I do think I am a lost cause now 🤣
nannywindow, what an excellent & productive day of decluttering 👏🤩 Especially impressed that you resisted any chance of temptation by wearing blinkers in the CS 😊 & that you were so firm with DH whilst you were sorting out the office 👏 One Gold Star ⭐️ for you & a medal 🏅 for your DH 🙂 P.S. I have PM’d you 🙂
London_1, your move to the IoW has been such a success & your love of the island shines out from all your posts 🥹 Hopefully the building works will be done & dusted before the grandsons turn up 🙏 Such lovely young men & a credit to their mum 😊 Your own dedicated chauffeur - how lovely 😻 More excellent decluttering 👏 I am very pleased to see that you are planning a shopping trip for new clothes 😊 I do hope the Cardiac nurse offered some praise for the weight loss 🤔 Everything crossed for a completely favourable MOT result 🤞🙏
Thanks daisy_1571 👏 Lovely jewellery - so cheery & bright 😊 P.S. I have PM’d you.
A perfect time to stop for a while as DH has put in an appearance 😉 I hope everyone is having a dry day & enjoying their weekend 😊

@2Scratters , it is good when you feel the space , even not having to squish things down to close a drawer!
Hoping a sofa will go in the next week or 2 and contemplating craft stash and also.seeing if I can still knit ( wrist problems which make cycling and golf difficult - not that i play golf but a friend arranged an evening of it)13 -
MrsSD I have PM'd you x
I'm still in decluttering mode and shifted some tins, jars, packets and bottles around while checking their use by dates. To accommodate said items I tackled my baking cupboards and in the cs bag went several baking cutters ( I kept some) and 2 silicon sweet moulds, I also found a bag of soft apricots nearing it's sell by date so they will be eaten.
In the condiment cupboard I found 3 tubs of curry paste, all opened, oops ! Lots of OOD items have left the building. Also ready for the scrappy man tomorrow is a computer monitor. I know we still have too much stuff but persuading DH to part with some of it is a bit of an uphill battle, we still have 7 backpacks rammed in a cupboard 😲 In my head I would like to turn the office back into a single bedroom but I don't think that'll ever happen now. It was made into an office when DH was working and he's been retired about 6 years 😞
Loving the ironing chat, I hate doing it but some things need it.
MrsSD thank you very much for my star and DH sends his thanks for his medal. Again many thanks for your kind offer.
Take care all

my name is daisy and I have too much stuff *hi, daisy *
Today I went to an antique fair to see if I could sell a picture (donated to an organisation I'm in to raise funds and is now living in my house). However at the first stall I bought a wildly over the top and thoroughly amazing ring plus a foot high, aluminium model of Concorde ( 🧡 ) which santa will bring me. At the second stall, I bought a pine stand for holding a plant. I only stopped buying after that as that left me with only £1.20 in my purse. Sooooo many nice things. Meanwhile the picture: it didn't even make it out my bag cos there was hardly any stalls with pictures so it came back home too.
Be kind

Ps tomorrow I'm going to look at an exercise bike 🚴♀️22: 3🏅 4⭐ 23: 5🏅 6 ⭐ 24 1🏅 2⭐ 25 🏅 🥈 Never save something for a special occasion. Every day is a special occasion. TC77 said:@daisy_1571 I'm in a big house and went into the loft and extension and now mainly me.... rooms of doom. Renewing my home insurance made me think that as I near retirement ( hopefully) then many benefits of a smaller ( notice not small) home would be good. I don't use half my house except for storage except when friends come to stay.
On the ironing front, I iron may - September and love freshly ironed shirts and linen, but crinkled sheets are fine.
Books is a weakness, 3 picked up in cs yesterday. Reading one of the journey to brum.
However, yes, we know we will only be here for a few years then we will be in a smaller home too. It makes sense.

Really good day today, I finally found my electric curling tongs that I packed for the move in July 🤣 my hair is in need of a trim so they came in handy this morning
Then I stitched up a small hole in a pair of socks that had appeared before it grew any bigger. They are very soft black ones that I like to wear with my black Sketchers as they have soft fitting tops which is better for my ancient circulation 🤣
Then after lunch DD and I loaded lots of junk from the back garage and did a tip run.
With the builders being full time next week they will need the space to take down the stud wall between the front and back garage which will eventually give me my nice new 18ft sitting room 🤞
The boys all texted me today,
Jack was fishing with two pals at Maidstone and caught two bream
Ben was at home in London sorting out some forms as he wants to go to either China or Japan next year to teach English
His oldest friend has just done a year in China teaching, and as Bens already visited Japan he’s hoping to get on the register to teach in either one
Henry was booking his Thailand trip, and is off there for three weeks next April with some chums from Uni. They want to go up into the highlands and explore the country properly
Mikey meanwhile had a couple of shifts this weekend at his part time job so he’s a happy chappy as it means his Uni grant goes a bit further,
Their older sister Katie and her OH and two little girls are getting excited about their trip to Florida on Wednesday as they are off to Disneyworld, and for the 4 & 6 year old they are really buzzing about it,
so everyone seems to be enjoying life so far
The cardiac nurse was pleased about my weight loss, but not about missing my review, so after all the test results return I’m back to see her on the 17th 🤞🤞🤞👍
The weather was gorgeous today, but according to the forecast it’s rain for the next week until next Saturday 🥴
I hope everyone has a good weekend and stays dry if possible

Daisy, I could look at exercise bikes all day too. 🤣 you have no control over Father Christmas’s gifts so don’t worry. Concorde is beautiful and will look perfect in your home.
had a lovely visit today from Floss, bearing knitting gifts. Time flew by.4 cushions done. 6 tote bags almost done. Bunting imminent. Just a bag of fabric and new bag of knitting apparatus in the craft stash. 2 white flat sheets for the chazzer. I was saving them to back quilts and line tote bags but I don’t want any more big projects. A wicker basket for the community centre to put raffle prize hamper in.One day I will have “just enough “ too.Vx:16 -
It was lovely putting a face to Vulpix today, and I have now also met Fomo who is a beaut!
I had a great night last night, too much expensive chardonnay in Slug & Lettuce but the band were fab. Shame that cost cutting has got to Premier Inns - 1 towel. Luckily a double one, but I greatly dislike drying my face after my morning wash on the same towel I dried my bum & feet with after my going -out shower 😳

Decluttered a delicious meal made by my son-n-law tonight, very yummy, he's a really good cook.
I popped to the local Tesco garage and topped my car up, it was £1.34.9 a litre which if my maths is correct around just under £6.75 a gallon or to my mind (yes I'm that old )£6.15.00 a gallon, it was 4/3d a gallon when I started driving a very long time ago I agree
But I have a feeling the petrol prices will rise over the next few weeks and so its a saving in the long run.Although if I can I will walk or get a bus into town. Its down hill for me into Ryde which is just under a mile away so a bit of exercise ,but I can always get a bus back up as I have my bus pass and they are every half an hour from the seafront.
Can't see many folk sending Christmas cards this year with the price of the stamps rising as they areStill I usually donate to the Sally Army instead anyway.
Onwards and upwards chums
