@Floss thank you and I do keep in mind your journey and how joyful the photos you post of your lovely bright home.
Taking a couple of bags of things to DD2 at her uni at the weekend.
Someone mentioned fleabay and just trying to work if they take a chunk still when you sell? I have a list of things to have one more go to get some pennies for. Have 2 items people are hopefully picking up from my dad's - one is an outboard motor! Going to get quotes for van. Definitely have a little more space in some drawers and cupboards but when I decided to buy some nice linen this year I realise I overbought not registering what I had already got in successive sales!13 -
Oh, Floss I thought it was last week you were going to Sheffield, doh. have a great time. PM'd you too.
I have been so busy recently our tenuous link with a routine is out the window. Neither of us have a clue as to what day it is.
I am going to hell. I’m getting rid of the double patchwork bedspread my Mum has hand sewn. Anyone want to finish it? Happy to post it. Just needs a back putting on it.To go, a folder which had knitting patterns in. Lots of patterns recycled and the keepers consolidated into one file. For Dd1 this afternoon a plastic vacuum storage bag a new metal toilet roll holder and towel ring. It feels quite strange that DD1 can just visit and visa versa.I wont overload them with all her stuff just yet as they are still getting straight and both starting new jobs on Monday. Believe me she will be taking possession of something of hers every time we meet. I am more than happy to have the responsibility of the giant plant off my hands.A bag of Christmas fabric, ribbon etc put in a basket for next weeks craft club. We are all making gift tags for our tree at the Christmas tree festival. I find it very hard to believe but some people do not have a stash of ribbon and stuff! I am more than happy for people to use up my stash. Also in the bag a magazine to pass on and a bag of blister packs to pass on for recycling.Fabric organised and cut to make 4 cushions, Christmas bunting and some tote bags which are UFO’s. Not a stitch done yet!
In the bin 6 cans of cider, only 2 years out of date.
I have appointments to make on the phone. I really dislike making phone calls. Can't put it off any longer.

2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Oops, I forgot to post this last night 🙊
Did Wednesday night’s wudupa 😉 The scarf I knitted with all the odds & ends of yarn is 90” long - see pic
I wrote a menu plan for the next 5 days & then a shopping list for DH & DSis. Having decided not to go until the evening, DH filled the bird feeders then after scrubbing his hands he made soup using up lots of bits from freezer & limp veg from the fridge 🙂 I have finished knitting another scarf in feather & fan stitch so as I have quite a few bits & pieces to go to the CS I need to factor in a trip to Lewisham next week, to drop stuff off. My numbers should go up quite a bit 🤞 Leftover linguine in creamy bacon & pea sauce for DH & DSis but leftover bolognaise cottage pie (from the freezer) for me. Still trying to get to the point where I can defrost a freezer😉 Wudupa. P.S. It stayed dry all day 🙂

Thursday has had a lovely sunny start with a forecast high of 17°C. I was up & dressed by 10:30. I will post this & then catch up on the cheerleading in a separate post 😉

Hugs to everyone that needs them. I had about 120 posts to catch up on and while I have read all of them, I can't for the life of me actually remember what I wanted to say to each of them (I'm in awe of your cheerleading skills Mrs SD!)
This morning we've decluttered the washing machine that the old owners left here to a local scrap man - was highly entertaining watching DH try to maneuver it out of the house onto the drive. I would have offered to help but I had both my flu and covid jabs yesterday so each arm is a little out of commission today.
Was fortuitous that today was the start of phase 1 of the building work we need doing so the foreman turned up just in time to help DH out. Currently sitting in my kitchen surrounded by the contents of the living room while the guys get on boarding out the ceilings in the LR and will move on to my office (the old dining room) next. We now need to strip the wallpaper in both rooms over the weekend so they can skim both rooms when they do the ceilings on Monday. Wasn't something we anticipated having to do but we stripped the wallpaper in the main bedroom last weekend and lets just say, the walls aren't in the best condition and looks like they haven't really been touched since the house was built in the late 60's. Very glad we have a bit of a contingency fund to cover the unexpected additional costs but it makes sense to have it all done in one go. On the plus side, the room they've almost finished looks so much better and brighter with the boards up and not just staring into the void of the joists 🤣
So not a lot of decluttering done unless you count all the wallpaper. Also have listed a couple of bits on ebay that have some watchers so hoping those bits will be gone by this time next week so I can actually start unpacking clothes properly as they're blocking my wardrobe.
I'll also add some of the copious amounts of fudge we have been sent into the TLC carriage if anyone wants it.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201716 -
I am very much behind on everything as I've been busy both at work and also had my evening somewhat hijacked on Tuesday when I spent 6 hours trapped on the M3 after an accident closed the road. Eventually the police got to my end of the queue so we could be released from the motorway. Oh well... at least I made a new Facebook friendLots of tidying to catch up on, which usually means I end up finding things to declutter along the way. No time to even consider getting back to the library re-organisation or the digital photo decluttering... hopefully I will get some time in the next few weeks, although I am being slowed significantly with the fun effects of menopause which are getting very tiresome (actually literally as I have fatigue!).I have been tracking still whilst I was busy and do have some decluttering to report:Digital:New total = 16,669

Hi all, reasonable day yesterday, 2 LDFPA, bedroom recycling emptied, covid jab which didn't hurt as much as usual but I had an achey arm last night that woke me up whenever I rolled onto it through the night. I visited the bank and progressed a frog that has been lurking since July and banked a cheque my sister sent me for my birthday
. On the way home I collected my meds and sorted them as soon as I got home. The sort out of clothes continued and I have found a bn still in the packaging polo shirt with the school logo on so that has been put to one side and will be passed on next week when I am meeting up with a couple of ex colleagues who are still working there. If non of the staff want it I am sure it will be useful for one of the kids
. There are a couple of jumpers I am pondering. 1 has 3/4 sleeves which I am not keen on and the other has a stand up neck which I am not sure about. I will try them on but they might be destined for the cs
. Also found 2 winter hats that have been put where they live. I don't often wear a winter hat as my head gets too hot unless it's really cold, beast from the east type of cold
The sun is out and I have a load on the line and am hunting for another load as the forecast is rain for a week from Sunday so I want to get as much done while it can go outside
@Vulpix I find it hard to believe people don't have ribbon as wellI have a jar full that I collect from things that come into the house but they do get used for things like gift tags or even tying up presents if they are long enough
. I am sure the same piece of ribbon has been passed between me and my sister several times
.
The little aeroplane and spoon are amazing, I do have a bit of a thing for handmade objects like that and so nice for them to stay in the family for another generation. I might be interested in the quilt, what is the colour theme?. I have a friend who does quilts so putting the backing on could be a learning experience for me and she will help
.
@weenancyinAmerica I would love to get rid of the ironing board and never iron again but OH wears smart type shirts for work and most of my smart clothes are either cotton or linen so do need ironing. This time of year as it cools down here I do less as the tea shirts are covered by jumpers but in our excuse for a summer they do need an iron if I am going out in public. The problem is that my Dmum loved ironing so would always do it and not inheriting that gene I hate it so procrastinate over the ironing pile. There used to be a local dry cleaners that had an ironing service but they have closed so I just have to bite the bullet and get on with it
@TC77 good luck with the sort out. I think I would have a breakdown if someone wanted to come and stay in my house, hugs, you can do it. I think the fleabay thing is free for private sellers except for specific things like cars etc.
@Mrs SD, I love that scarf, Dr Who comes to mind
@ruby_eskimo good luck with the plastering, my walls hadn't been touched since the house was built in the early 30s apart from bits of filler I had put in when chunks fell out everytime I stripped the paper off. So much nicer now with smooth walls so definitely worth it but it is very messy
. Thanks for the fudge, yum yum 😋
Some starlings have discovered the bird feeder and are currently demolishing the fat balls, luckily I topped it up yesterday. Right better get weaving. Hugs to everyone who would like one

Liverpool_Anne you iron t shirts ?
?? Never ironed a tshirt in me life but I would have thought it would stretch them? Maybe you buy really expensive ones that stay 'square' but I wouldn't know where to start if you handed me a basket of tees and said could you iron these please. (Well, I would actually, I'd take them out, fold them and say 'Done. What do you want me to do next?" LOL 😆 🤣) Seriously, I really doubt your tshirts will actually need ironed. Go out one day unironed and see if your life is any different, save yourself from this at least 😆 😆 🤣 😂

I don’t iron anything, I don’t dry dishes nor do I own a TV. Those activities are a waste of a life in my view.
Been away this week so no decluttering done except doing fun stuff relating to family history and will be meeting up with friends at the weekend. Back home on Monday.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅15
