Thursday I was up slightly earlier - noon 🥳 I didn’t miss much as the rain has been biblical although there have been a couple of 5 minute periods of sunshine. DH’s hm soup is delicious - lots of vegetables & a few small pieces of lo steak 😋 During one of the brief spells when it wasn’t raining DH filled the bird feeders & put down 4 of the plastic stepping stones as the ground is so soft 😉 He is now in the garage zizzing up worm food. I have dealt with today’s mail including filing & shredding. I spent the rest of the afternoon watching TV & knitting. Dinner was ys salmon fishcakes (that DH & DSis picked up because they liked the look of them) with chips & baked beans. The chips & baked beans were tasty 😉 Wudupa

London_1, great advertisement for Edinburgh 🙂
vulpix, what a glorious description of your cats behaviour especially “Apparently if we are out they sit and stare in various neighbours windows telling them how badly treated they are.” which I found hilarious 🤣 The Scottish Tourist Board should definitely employ you 😊
crazybunnylady4, I can almost feel the relief & joy every time you update us on progress next door 😊 I imagine the landlord will do a thorough vetting of any new tenants 😉 Good luck with the rest of the wardrobe sort out 🍀
Gorgeous photo vulpix 🤩

I caught up on posts but not much done as I keep falling asleep. Away again tonight to drop DS2 off at airport in South as he is visiting my brother. Whilst I was in France DS2 has taken a lot but not all of his stuff.
1079-1098 At least 20 more boxes or items left house with DS2
1099-1100 Two mugs to CS bag
1101-1104 Children's clothes to CS bag
1105 Hundreds of emails read, saved, answered, deleted
1106 Banking done
1107 Various bills paid
1108-1110 Medical frogs done - audiology appointment, covid jab and flu jab booked - some more to do
Place is a bit of a mess - solicitors very annoying as they just don't answer questions - no wonder things move so slowly. My buyer is getting inpatient with good reason.
Provence was lovely but large group and spent lots on food. I did do some site seeing. House was amazing - random arty things everywhere but wildly impractical if there had been any children. Marble stairs with no sides or banisters. Pool was a bit cool but I did swim once. The journey to Provence by train was great. Dsil 1 made it to St Pancras with only 10 minutes to spare due to traffic so we were all stressed but the Assistance provided was amazing. Wheelchair through customs etc to door of train then same service at each stop and change. Six trains altogether for return trip. I sent them some nice feedback. The staff were very cheerful and went out of their way to help all three of us (71, 76, 81) even though wheelchair assistance booked for only one of our group. Stayed at Dsil3's until Sunday afternoon before driving back here.
I need to do some jobs today and pack a case for tonight.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Gosh I have been hit with the most horrendous head cold .I tested and its definitely that, so apart from having a mouth full of stitches where the dentist dug the root out. I now have a rotten cold , my head is banging like a drum and my nose is running like the Thames .I don't often get a cold ,about one a year perhaps and I've luckily never had covid.
So I'm spending most of my time in bed sleeping or occasionally looking at my laptop.
The builder has arrived and my son-in-law is sorting out things with him down stairs As my bedroom is quite large and ensuite I don't really need to be anywhere downstairs at all I have a small fridge in my room plus a kettle ,tea and milk so I can make a cuppa first thing in the morning when I wake up.
Plus I shan't be passing this cold onto Simon (my son-in-law) or my DD. Its a real stinker so I shall keep it to myself
Just going to declutter a hot cuppa then have a snooze
I'll be back when I'm less gerrmy

TC77 and London1 - I hope you feel better soon.
Emails now down to 160 unread. I have managed to get them down to around 40 before now and they've crept back up again. They quickly become overwhelming when I have fatigue so I will have to work out a way of dealing with them quicker so they don't build up to such high numbers.
A drinks bottle fell out of a cupboard yesterday - it's one we never use so it's on the CS pile with the DVDs.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅14 -
Hi all, terrible weather all day yesterday here. I went out to the local union office for a couple of hours. They are moving to a new office so are having a major sort out. I offered to help on an ad hoc basis as the 3 people based there are still having to do case work while all this is going on. I ended up shredding old paperwork
. As they have a bigish shredder I got 2 bin bags full in an hour, as well as a pile of plastic wallets and paper clips and another bag of paper that can be recycled without shredding. They obviously don't do this very often as some of the paperwork dated from 2011
. I brought the bags home with me to put in my bins as they have very little bin space there, they occupy the ground floor of a large house but the top floors are flats so their bins are usually full whereas my wheelie bins are rarely full but if I need it I can always put stuff in ln"s bins
. I will not count this as it wasn't my clutter
They also "gifted" me 2 bags of insulated drinking mugs which I will pass on on Tuesday when I meet up with ex colleagues to distribute around school so they are still in the boot of the car
. I have arranged to go back next Tuesday morning for a couple of hours. I did manage to get some of my decluttering done as well so the post was sorted, the kitchen recycling emptied, 4 gift cards found and checked they are still valid, balances checked etc so they will be used soon
, a new and still in the wrapping face mask into the cs bag. I also popped to the doctors to collect my blood test from
. 1 LDFPA
Today I have a sewing job to do. OH has a new suit for the wedding and last night announced the trousers need taking up, I pinned them last night but said I would do the sewing today in daylight so I can match the thread colour. As it's not raining catching up with the washing is on the cards and the first load is about to go out on the line
.
@diminua, @weenancyinAmerica and @Mrs SD thanks for the tips, unfortunately I don't have a scanner, never use it for ID and only use 1 bag but the search continues, it is here somewhere. If I could only remember the last time I needed it I would probably be able to work out where it was
. My brain obviously wasn't working when I last had it or it would be back where it lived along with my passport, cheque book , etc.
.
@GrannyKate glad you had such a nice experience with assistance, having travelled with people in wheelchairs I know it's not always the case.
@London_1 sending healing vibes, keep warm, hugs
@oceanspirit emails are a pain and I have to admit I sometimes delete them after only reading the title, just cba reading them and some keep coming back no matter how often you unsubscribe.
Right time to get the washing out
Hugs to everyone who would like one
1457 post sorted
1458 kitchen recycling
1459 gift cards sorted

Frog time!
I'm pleased to report that last month I finally got around to re-painting my front door, only 5 years overdue but a frog ticked off the list.
This spurred me on to re-staining my gate and fences which I last did 9 years ago. The stain is supposed to need re-doing every 5 years so not quite as overdue.Photos show the difference but I do still need to do a tiny bit more on the backs but the weather is so wet it might have to wait till Spring. The fronts and sides look great though
(There's no pic of the door as it didn't occur to me to take a "before" until it was too late).
The gasman came yesterday to fix an expensive part in the boiler. I spent hours over 2 days tidying, cleaning and shoving stuff out of the way prior to his visit. The bathroom, kitchen and dining room look so clear at the moment I am tempted to go into town and buy a lightbulb for the light fitting I bought months ago so an electrician can swap the bathroom light fitting over and also fix my cooker extractor hood. We have 47mph winds at the moment though so hopefully I will go out tomorrow.

Well I had an incredibly wet 5 days visiting Bristol - the weather was much better at home - of course!
The final 2 days it was torrential rain but I was determined to go out including a day trip to Bath on the last day. I lasted an hour and was absolutely soaked through. More like a day in THE Bath. My trainers took two days with the dehumidifier on before they dried out.
Holiday decluttering:
4 socks
leaky pen
handbag
beauty face mask
2 fluffy socks
Decluttering:
cleaning product
3 local mags
I have also put a Delay Repay train claim in for my arrival train to Bristol. I am due back £7.13 so that's going in my "make" goal. It goes towards the £10 I feel I wasted on the wash out train trip to Bath.
Keep going everybody

Hi chums had a nice nap and just decluttered a bowl of pasta bolognese that was left over from last nights dinner I always make sure the left overs are either eaten next day or if enough frozen.
But it was nice and went down well as my son-in-law is like me and likes to liven things up with a peppery sauce when its almost cooked usually chucks some sweet chilli sauce in at the end
The builder is working away laying pipes and stuff for the new downstairs loo and shower room at the moment
DGS Henry is in Prague with some pals for a few days enjoying his banking bonus that he get in September yearly, He's also got a trip to Romania for the weekend next month.
He loves short trips or a Fri-Mon trip to different places. got a real travel bug since he left Uni a couple of years ago.
He's been so far this year to Morocco, Madrid, Hamburg Amsterdam, Paris ,now Prague, and next month Romania, He also came down to the IoW in August for two weeks, but worked from home there, as he and his brother Ben were shifting houses (Ben is a teacher so he spent five weeks with us on the island) and their lease on the previous place finished on 27th July and they couldn't move into their new apartment until 9th August so his boss said as long as he worked from home it didn't matter where home was, so he came and stayed with us on the IoW.
The two boys and their middle brother Jack are coming over to the island at the end of October for half term but I think Henry will bring his work stuff with him and again work from home at our place. Ben and Jack are both teachers so will be on half term anyway.
DGS Mikey has finally landed a part time job in Colchester where he is at Uni. Its in Taco Bell and he's really taking every shift he can, and his boss, if he works a late one drops him off near to Halls as he's moved back into Halls this year. he also gets something to eat when he's finished his shift which helps his budget. he is chuffed to bits as he was getting quite despondent about getting P/T work and had been applying for anything and everything
luckily they are really good and said they will try to work his shifts around lectures for him to help out and he is a good lad who is happy to work at anything given the chance.he seems to get on well with the other workers as well as he is a very cheerful young man bless him and is always smiling. Plus he is so happy that he can treat his young lady as she has been looking after him for almost a year as she is working and knew he was living on buttons.he says he's going to treat her Mum as well as she often has cooked him a meal. But I think it maybe Christmas before we see him
Right I'm off to make myself another cuppa in between the sneezing, its like hay fever done nothing but sneeze and had watery eyes today
Onwards and upwards chums hopefully better by tomorrow fingers crossed

After some quite ridiculous working hours this week, I finally finished most of my work and am back to normal busyness at work now. However, it has taken its toll and I am exhausted and have a cold I'm trying to fight off. So I am firmly back in the TLC carriage trying to remember what all the things I need to do are and failing! There is a lovely chocolate marble cake in there though if you can scoff it before my kids get to it.More bits gone and my wardrobe is looking lovely with nothing required to be rammed in. In fact I've left the door open so I can admire it every time I walk past
There are a few more bits to go, but I need to find a replacement for a couple of them first otherwise I might end up with nothing to wear and some more I am not sure of and need to wear to decide.
