Hi all,
@QueenJess from your post it seems as if York has reverted to be more like it used to be. When I last visited pre covid there was more than 1 HP shop, it was every other shop and while I do like the books and films I had no wish to buy a wand. Maybe I will consider another visit
.
@Crazycatlady2 so sorry to hear your news, take care of yourself, big hugs
@Vulpix glad to hear Mr V is on the case and you are not so stressed now
Well yesterday wasn't such a good day. I got 3 bags of garden waste chopped between the showers but I didn't get them to the tip so not counting yet. The bedroom recycling was emptied as I had a bit of a sort out of some paperwork in the bedroom while it was raining. OH spent afternoon baking another version of the wedding cake in our oven, it took about 4.5 hours to cook and has decided that if it is up to scratch will do a second tier. It will have the edges sliced off for a taste test. The kitchen is destroyed again and when I was trying to open a tin and the tin opener refused to work again I had a fit of pique and threw it in the bin, I managed to get the tin open first
. So today I am doing the trip to the Swedish shop and will probably pick up some of those blue bags.
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Several things off the reading pile yesterday and into recycling plus some papers into the shredder. OH noted that the living room is looking much better.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅11

Have I mentioned that York is the first place I lived in when I came to the UK. About a zillion years back and way before HP. I was at the uni (so actually lived in Heslington) and that's where I met him indoors. One of my favourite Christmases ever there too - all alone, bought in stuff I liked but didn't normally have - like a really nice loaf of bread, farmer's butter, taramasalata (I know!!) - wandered around the empty streets on Christmas day hearing church services going on and carols. (actually a bit like the one HP where he goes to the town where he was born). And had saved a copy of The Wrong Box to read.
Next day got a call from the now OH who said he'd been told off by his mom for leaving me all on my own for Christmas when there was room at theirs and that I had to get a train down to Eltham. Lovely post vulpix 😊 Hopefully the quilts will NOT finish you off 🤞😉 Really like the play on words - Shet Ski rather than jet ski 😊 Sounds like a very useful discussion & with all your planning when the move does eventually happen it should be so much easier 🤞 You will have great fun choosing tools from MrV’s ‘shop’ 😉
Great decluttering Wednesday2000 👏 Sorry to hear about your dog’s loss of mobility, I hope she is not in pain 🙏 Good luck with the ice bathing 🍀 Very MSE to forego a takeaway 😊

Pennypincin, great work getting so much laundry done 👏 Fingers crossed that you can ‘save’ the t-shirt & shorts 🤞
GrannyKate, everything crossed for swift progress on the bungalow 🤞This “I managed to pick up a local character (I'm good at that) who was helping them find the names. He was delighted to discover we were actually looking for the remains of a real grave for my 4 x great grandfather, a professor at Edinburgh University, who was buried there in 1805” made me howl with laughter 😂 Well done dealing with frogs 👏 & good luck with the rest of the frogs 🍀
Now, now Liverpool_Anne ‘wagging finger emoji’ 😉 You have done the hard work by filling 3 bags of chopped garden waste 👏 Shame about the tin opener ☹️ but hopefully you will find a super-duper one in IKEA 🤞 Although please remember to avert your eyes to everything else 🤣 apart from the blue bags 😉
oceanspirit, so nice when someone notices the fruits of your decluttering labour as it gives you a real boost 🥳
Brie, what lovely memories 😊 Thank you so much for sharing them with us 🥹

Didn't declutter anything yesterday except a basket of washing.
Today pulled a lot of stuff out of the cupboard of doom. Got most of it sorted for the de-stash sale. This evening I got a message saying it was cancelled.
Now I'm having a sulk and an ice-cream.
take care everyone.

Hi chums I'm thinking of getting a small fridge just to keep milk and odds and ends in in my sitting rooms. I though I may go into Newport and see if the BHF have any as I know they do get them sometimes and they are well checked over to make sure they are safe.I just literally just for small odds and ends in my sitting room cream, milk, butter, and cheese perhaps as DDs fridge seem to be over full.
Plus if its BHF than the cash is going to a good cause win-win
