ilovetea, well done on decluttering your cupboard of doom 👏 Such a shame that the de-stash sale was cancelled ☹️ but at least you have done the hard work of deciding what is going 😊 Is it being rearranged or do you now have to decide what to do with the decluttered items 🤔 Now I want an ice-cream 😉
Great idea London_1 👏 Good luck 🍀

Hi all,
@oceanspirit if OH has noticed it must be much better.
@Brie I think I would have liked a Christmas like that. After my parent's died I had a couple of Christmas days on my own and it was bliss to just do what I wanted and eat what I liked
.
@Mrs SD I am afraid my eyes were not totally averted as I also picked up a new garlic press, the one we have is getting tricky to use, a pastry brush which OH had requested and a rotary cheese grater thing that OH had requested. We did have one but it broke and to be honest it was so old I couldn't remember where I had got it from and I had never seen one like it anywhere but wouldn't you know it as I was searching for the pastry brush there it was. OH has used it already to make cauliflower rice. I also got a clear plastic storage bag to put the sleeping bags in that are currently in the top of the airing cupboard in a black bin bag and every so often I drag the bag out because I can't remember what is in it but now I will be able to see
. I did get the blue bags and a tin opener
.
The team sprint was very good and I also enjoyed the team triathlon as well as Keely Hodgkinson winning the 800m and the pole vault was quite amazing. A very good watch all round today
@Vulpix I have been to Buxton a couple of times and I have to say the weather was always quite warm. We were camping and I don't remember being cold at all but it was summer
@London_1 you can get small camping fridges that are big enough to hold milk and bits. If you can't find anything suitable at the BHF try a camping shop
Today was a good day, 4 bags of garden waste to the tip, I stopped at the 4 bags as my hand is starting to ache using the secateurs, bedroom bin, kitchen recycling and after a clear round in the lr the lr recycling. OH brought a pile of washing down while I was at the Swedish shop but nothing made it into the machine which was probably just as well as it drizzled on and off and then we had more thunder and rain but hopefully I can sort it tomorrow. If it stays dry tomorrow I will be back in the garden, I am just about half done on the back border but I do need a saw still to get the larger trunks out.
Hugs to everyone who would like one
1127 - 1130 garden waste
1131 bedroom bin
1132 kitchen recycling
1133 lr recycling
Take care everyone

Thankyou for al the kind comments.
Well we seem to be inheriting a house along with a massive to do list so I've dug out an old notebook for the purposes of brain dumps and questions I have so DH can read and answer and he has the mental capacity as he really struggled bless him. I've gone into practical mode about making sure bins and fridge empty etc. of I should check milk situation as if hubby going every day he can at least make a coffee.
Bad I know but I was a little excited to realise the rubbish bin goes out there today though 🤣
I was hoping for a stress free school holidays but of well
I will need to re-home 2 massive fish out the pond asap too15 -
@Crazycatlady2 so sorry to hear about your fil and as others say take care of yourself and condolences to you, DH and family.

Been having bother with internet and somehow managed to miss a page of posts. So sorry to read about your fil, crazycatlady2.
ilovetea, you are definitely entitled to a good sulk 😆.Liverpool_Anne, he was actually able to sit in the armchair to read yesterday evening - I can’t remember when that was last possible.Tidied and cleaned two shelves in the kitchen - the contrast between those and the rest which have two years of dust is spurring me on to tackle the next two however they may have to wait as there are other things need doing today if the internet will let me.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅15 -

The great studio sort out resulted in filling the black bin. We only have a small bin so not as much as it sounds. Several large things listed on thrift, some collected already and some should be later. We will drop some things at the charity shop when we go out. I won't push Mr V too much as he has done so well the past couple of days but there is still the tool shed to do. When I know where we will be moving to I will streamline my garden benches ,pots etc.
Off to view a house shortly, the viewing on our house has been rearranged to tomorrow. Fingers crossed. It's the one.

Tuesday is a dull cloudy day with light rain expected & an expected high of 24C I was up at 11:15, have had my first cuppa & the first load of washing is done but no chance of hanging outside as it is raining. 2nd load is in, I have my 2nd cuppa & I have dealt with today’s mail completely 🙂 Currently watching the morning session of the Athletics which I recorded & thoroughly enjoying the Men’s javelin qualifying. Now have Climbing, Diving & Skateboarding to watch 😅 2nd load of washing has finished but as it is still damp outside I have put first load in td.
1274 - 1276 Large plastic container, booklet, 0.5” paperwork - recycled
1277 - 0.5” shredding binned
Lovely post Liverpool_Anne 😊 You might not have averted your eyes but every purchase you made was a need not a want so you are forgiven 😂 Excellent work especially in the garden & well done for getting everything ‘out, out’ as Mickey Flanagan would say 👏 Hope the weather is good today so you can get the washing done & dried outside 🤞
Crazycatlady2, I understand there is lots to do but please remember to take care of yourself & your DH 🙏 Sending you both many cwtches 🤗
Excellent work with the kitchen shelves oceanspirit 👏 Hopefully your internet will behave itself so that you can complete your computer work quickly & get back to dealing with the kitchen shelves 🤞😉
Great decluttering Pennypincin 👏 Fingers crossed it stays dry all day 🤞
Excellent work decluttering the studio vulpix 👏 MrV is doing really well so a couple of days rest for him is probably due, so he can build up to working on the tool shed 😉 Fingers crossed for today’s viewing 🤞It might be ‘the one’ 🤞
The women’s 10m Platform Diving has been brilliant 🤩 Even saw a ‘perfect dive’ 🤩 Result as expected - I think China are going for a clean sweep of golds 🙂 See everyone later 👋

Meanwhile I think I deserve a lollipop and a gold star today. OH had spotted a pigeon in the garden the other day that was limply flapping one wing. It then took off and flew directly into the lounge door, dead on impact. He cleaned it up into a shoe box (& washed the window too) but wasn't sure what to do next. I bagged it up eventually (still in the shoe box) and put it out in our bin. But the bin won't be collected now until the end of the month as we're on holiday for a week when the collection should be. So rather than be confronted with whatever horrors might be brewing I took the bag out of the bin, slung it in the back of the car, windows wide open as I knew I couldn't hold my breath for the entire journey and decluttered it at the tip.
We've asked our neighbour to put out, bring in bins when we've been away and that has not been successful. We've a friend who's going to come by and water the garden if required but I don't think it far to say "you must put the bin out on Thursday and return on Friday to retrieve it".
