Hi I have been reading along with you all for many months. You are all so inspiring. Please could I join you? I have quite a bit to go through. Things that I inherited when my parents passes away. Things of ours which need going through. My husband retires the middle of March so hopefully we will make good inroads. My house is not necessarily cluttered but there’s lots hidden away in the loft, cupboards etc. We are hopefully downsizing at some point so this will help massively.
Going to ease in gently today.

Glad your DSis is feeling better MrsSD
no snow here in North Devon, its actually pleasantly mold in the direct sun! 2 loads of washing dried overnight/first thing, and another one on the line now. I don't miss that rain!
Thinking of over-decluttering, and parting with Justins, has anyone tried putting aside a small amount of money per disposed item, like 10-50p? It could go in a jar so that if there was anything you threw that you needed you can easily replace? My fear is always throwing something I then needed.

I can see how that would be a fear flamingo but if you tot up what you have already decluttered, have you need any of it yet? You might find you may need one or two things you already have decluttered but realistically, would you need even a fifth of what you've already got rid of? Don't let it be an excuse to stop

Afternoon, lots of snow coming down here in the east 😍 blooming cold though!
Just tried to take my stuff to two cs but they both have signs saying "no more donations today" looks like the declutterati beat me to it!
Will try some different ones tomorrow.
No actual decluttering today just trying to come up with a plan for bedroom storage for all the dc (not enough for clothes etc).2024 decluttering Campaign

Friday night we discovered a little mouse friend had taken refuge in our house. After no sign in any of the (humane) traps by Sunday, we took the opportunity to declutter one of our bookcases in the living room so we could move it out and see if he was hiding behind there (spoiler alert, he was in the kitchen and is now probably behind the washing machine / fridge freezer 🙄😣 any tips would be much appreciated!).
Peanut butter or chocolate/hazelnut spread on the food area in the trap. Small mice can get lumps of cheese/nut off the 'feed' area and get out before the trap shuts. They have to tarry a while to lick the spreads which they find irresistible.Aiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade BudgetDECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN - 2023 🏅4*⭐️ : 2024 🏅💐2*⭐️ : 2025 ⭐⭐⭐🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅 : 2026 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅 DS: ⭐️DDiL: ⭐️Gino: 🏅

That makes sense! Not something I can count as there is an eternal ironing basket going in the bedroom. Going to ease in gently today.Of course! Anyone can join. Welcome to the declutterati! Definitely start with the least sentimental stuff first as that is easier to jettison and then work on more sentimental stuff once you gain a bit of momentum. I decluttered for years before I got to the stage now of going through all my photos and I still need to do them in little bits of time as it can be very mentally draining.2026 decluttering: 1,419 🤑🥉 ⭐️🥈🥇 ⭐️ ⭐️💎 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️🏆⭐️

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
DH & I have each had a bowl of hm soup - tasty but a bit ‘thin’ 🤤 DH used up some of the sprouts when making it - who knew that they can be rather tasty in a soup 😂 It is trying to snow again but rather unsuccessfully.
Excellent decluttering of both physical & digital items weenancy 👏 Remember, if you keep plugging away at the decluttering you will suddenly start to notice empty spaces appearing 😊 I am really, really hoping that your roommates are pitching in this year 🤞🙏🙏 although based on previous experience I might just be ‘whistling in the wind’ 😔 Good luck in the kitchen 🍀 Hopefully, now that you have reminded yourself of the “sponsored apartment” that you helped set up & then made sure it continued ( 😇), you will be able to resume donations of kitchen & bathroom items 🤞Roommate G sounds like he loves to buy shiny new items - whether they are needed or not 😔 I agree with vulpix “What an amazing idea weenancy to sponsor an apartment to help people get back on their feet. The cost would be a drop in the ocean to Disneyland.” please stay safe if you do venture out in the wind 🙏
Mamaofmanybudgets, please, please take it easy 🙏 You need to look after yourself - plenty of rest (in the TLC Carriage preferably) 🙏 You need to recover from your exhaustion otherwise decluttering will become just another chore to add to probably already busy days 😔 Think marathon not sprint 😉 Although I will say that you have done some excellent decluttering 👏
Sorry to hear that you are still tired out bit_by_bit 😔 Please make your way to the TLC Carriage 🙏 do not stop to declutter anything on the way 😉 More excellent decluttering & well done on having enough to make a Tip trip worthwhile 👏
BudgetingBelinda, I love that you have a “Hit List” for decluttering the areas that are annoying you most 😅 Excellent work decluttering the shelves 👏 Your Daily Decluttering method is definitely working for you 😊 Will just send a quick warning to the wardrobe - “😝“
What a wonderful comment “The house feels lighter. The more I’m doing the more I want to do. I hope this continues so I can get those annoying bits sorted.” 😊
Betharooni, very pleased to hear that time spent in the TLC Carriage has helped you declutter the migraine 😊 An excellent weekend of decluttering 👏 Not quite sure what makes you write “Although it doesn’t look like much when written down,……….” I was wondering how you found the time to do SO much 🤨 We used to have a ‘wagging finger emoji’ which was so useful 😉
vulpix, well done to the local high school for collecting blister packs 👏 fingers crossed that they can raise lots of money 🤞Unless you are downsizing to a canal boat, not quite sure what the benefit of a capsule wardrobe is 😂 Once you have stabilised your weight & only have clothes that fit, are loved & bring a smile to your face you will still be able to satisfy your need for “…. the thrill of the chase in the charity shop.” just being mindful of the 1 In, 1 Out principle 😉 I love it - you have ‘nothing to do & no projects on the go’ but are still looking for anything/something to do 😊 Remember that having nothing to do is a fitting reward for all your hard work 😊
Excellent decluttering flamingo747 👏 Surely the bag of crisps in the car was for Justin case you get caught in a snowstorm 😅 Hope you managed to get an early night 🤞
Another session completed 😊

Hi and welcome new joiners. The more the merrier.
I am just killing a bit of time whilst the dinner is in the oven. Using up lots of bits out of the cupboards, freezer and fridge. 2 empty jars of mustard to recycling today. Only about 3 more types of mustard to use up now! I can't imagine the occasion where 5 types of mustard would be required.
That is nice news about the bike boots Mrs SD. Come summer if you are up North again we should have a meet up.Not mustard based though! I have just the place in mind.
fox and flowers, try to give up ironing,I have. Gave the ironing board away last year and saved a table top one from my MIL's but I am yet to use it. We didn't have the summer for wearing linen but I am surprised that with a good shake when things come out of the washer they are ok to wear without ironing. I admit to doing a small amount of ironing when we were on a cruise last year but that's it. My Aunt used to iron everything. Towels? tights? yes.
We have had some flurries of snow but it's not sticking, the ground is too warm.
New to me clothes all fit and are keepers for now. One of the tops is slightly too big so won't be resting too long with me I hope.
I am loving my fit bit. I had one years ago which I never got on with. I am surprised to learn that I walk much more than I thought. Just pottering in the house.
