Thanks for the posts and Mrs SD for organisation and keeping track.I’m not counting items, just doing a bit/lot everyday. Have a to do list and so many annoying things/places cupboards that wind me up that are in for it! 3 shelves of paperwork/random things today.Next the bulging wardrobes are calling my name! Might do in dribs/drabs as no big block of time is appearing. That seems to be working well though. Just a shelf- which may or may not turn into more. If it’s just one thing that’s ok too. I’m finding that approach really motivating.
The house feels lighter. The more I’m doing the more I want to do. I hope this continues so I can get those annoying bits sorted.Good luck all.Emergency Fund: 1000/2000April Grocery Challenge: 150/550

After spending a couple of days on the TLC carriage with a bad migraine, I’ve had a good decluttering weekend:
- A couple of broken/obsolete small electricals to box in library, as well as returning a library book.
- Remaining spare wool decluttered into a blanket which will go to local homeless charity and bag emptied.
- All clothing drawers gone through and majorly decluttered, chest of drawers is now empty and just need to clear the stuff on top of it and everything on the floor so we can move that through to DB1’s bedroom. About 4 carrier bags of clothing ready to go to charity shop either one evening after work or next weekend.
Although it doesn’t look like much when written down, that has been quite a lot of work and a fair few items going out of the house. Plenty more to do to get my room ready for the new dressing table in a couple of weeks though.21 -
What an amazing idea weenancy to sponsor an apartment to help people get back on their feet. The cost would be a drop in the ocean to Disneyland. The blister packs are being collected by my local high school. I did enquire if the pharmacy in the village could collect through terracycle for the charity association managing the new community centre build. Apparently it costs a couple of hundred pounds to set it up. So that was a no. I don’t know how much money can be raised through collecting the blister packs but just saving them all going to landfill has got to be a good thing for me. I am pretty central in England and we get out n about so if you think it’s feasible I could collect from you for the high school. Thanks for the support about clothes. I fear I need no support as I will have enough clothes to kit us all out on the thread. 🤣 once my weight has stabilised it would be nice to think that I could have a capsule wardrobe but I imagine that I would miss the thrill of the chase in the charity shop.I have nothing to do. Mr V gigging, dinner made, eaten, washed up. Nowt on telly. Everything is clean and tidy. Never has there been a time for years where I don’t have a project to work on. I even washed the throws off the sofas yesterday for something to do. I will go and look in my craft drawers and find something to do.I am enjoying all your decluttering tales.Vx:23

Decluttered the car as Mr F needs it tomorrow for the new job
+20 bits of various rubbish/recycling
+2 toys that Junior F has no interest in
+1 sealed bag of crisps, still in date but clearly out of place, so returned to house
Then moved on to big kitchen cupboard
+15 bits of recycling/rubbish from in or under shelving unit
+ 1 extending window cleaner brush thing, PITA to use, and would rather just pay the regular window cleaner the extra £4 to do the back too rather than spend an hour trying to do it myself. Will offer to family, then free cycle if not
So, +39 for buts, and +1 for the frog of deep cleaning the car which is a job I hate.

We here put blister packs into our recycling bag- They go in along with tins, paper, plastic, the usual. So they must be recyclable. The tip has a special wee bin for cork corks! Well , one would expect that in France.18

Evening all, had a day off from decluttering and instead spent it baking/cooking with my dds. Chocolate brownies, rice pudding and steak pies all made and eaten today (enough brownies and rice pudding for pack lunch puddings tomorrow!) Tomorrow I have a parcel due in the morning so will do some more sorting out and then aim to get a couple of bags to cs tomorrow afternoon and the rest when I go into town this week. Thanks @brie and @TheDoolallyDilly Ziggy is an imp and knows which side his bread is buttered 🤣. He is so loving and I don't know what I would do without him to be honest! Considering we had no intention of having pets and how we came to have him it is like we are soulmates!
He is also the only one who listens and behaves 🙄😄

Good evening. Yesterday I asked the girls to do another 20 minutes cleaning, they did moan and I asked if yhey wanted help and both said no. They actually seemed to do really well and I could hear them laughing and giggling together (very unusual!) DD2 sorted out a drawer in her dressing table and DD3 said she put all her clothes away. They were actually at it about 50 minutes so I guess they redeemed themselves for Friday.
Mrs SD, I think the Wet toiletries are just a lot of condensation. Since I've brought the dehumidifier downstairs for the washing, it's very cold and wet in there, I've noticed it's getting damp around the window too. I've had no washing on the airers overnight so I've put the dehumidifier back in the bathroom a bit.
Today I've done pretty much nothing, that jigsaw just keeps calling 🤣 back to school tomorrow for the DD3 so early nights tonight for everyone.

I have spent a couple of hours watching Bill Bailey in Western Australia so have now gone up to 72% free storage 🙂 DSis heated up a tin of chicken soup for a very late lunch or early tea 🙂 still feeling poorly 🤒 I napped for 40 minutes or so & woke with a start at 19:05 😧 However managed to dish up dinner in half an hour - pork steaks, mash & cabbage 🤤 I have plated up a dinner for DSis & was keeping it warm but DSis doesn’t fancy it just yet - maybe later. She has gone back to bed.

Brambling, well done on making a start on your pension frog 👏
shabbychic12, well done to both you & OH on the decluttering of drawers of doom 👏 It never ceases to amaze me how well ‘little & often’ works as a decluttering strategy 😊

Just a quick post - pottering really but just wish this lurgy would leave the house. Re a tricky frog with lots of baggage attached I have decided to let it (and considerable amount of money owed) go as sometimes this is the best thing for your own mental health. I also read what others were doing and it gave me a few quick fixes. Love Ziggy the cat.
31 Frog sidelined and to be forgotten
32 DS2 prescription prepayment renewed - his birthday present for quite a few years now
33 TV recordings all cleared (at least 100) - I've watched them all but never deleted. Started afresh with new Vera series
34 Xmas cards read and recycled - a couple need a letter
35 Large folder of shredding done
36 Kitchen bin taken outside and thoroughly cleaned
37 Kitchen sinks cleaned
38 Chipped pasta bowl binned
DS2 away again on his course so I have house to myself until I re-clutter the DGCs on Thursday.
