Evening, @Gers thanks for the article
On the appliance front, noticed on the kitchen aid blender one of the blades is a bit bent but still works so had been reluctant to pass on but DD2 is taking back to uni- luckily I'm giving her a lift next weekend.
Chaos v overwhelming this morning but took CS bag and added a cardigan, towel, decorative item, and then towel in suitcase for donation hub, crazed plate in bin, and broke a mug tonight, also moved all screws from mini drawers into an older sturdier drawer thing from my dad so its gone on the free site with some other things. Rusty nails and tacks and small bits out (9)
Trying my hand at vinted for clothes.
Item sold and packaged up (2)
Decorations all down including tree and away (1)
New total 61
2 big items not picked up and no date set which hopefully will change in the next day or two.
No work on frogs so need action tomorrow except rang home emergency people about leaking radiator so they shoul d be out tomorrow.
Have many old shoebags, quite pretty and embroidered and decided to put tights in some rather than in drawer divders as can be squishsed and uses them up as not sure anyone would want them, (have my granny's initials) but have some left that I'm trying to think what I can use them for.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
One last post. DH was kind & ordered posh burgers & chips for dinner Wudupa

vulpix, was it the egg or the microwave which exploded 😧 Wow, you have taken good care of your dressing gown 👏 not sure I would want to donate it 😉 Thank you for your enlightening discourse on nice underwear 😊 One of my non-financial frogs is to get properly fitted for bras so I am just wondering if you have any recommendations of the best place to go 🙏 I did have a little chuckle at the idea that Maintenance Decluttering is boring 😁 but it sounds as if you can get your ‘fix’ by visiting your mum 😉 Still very impressive decluttering numbers 👏
Great decluttering Dfw38 👏
Thanks for that Siebrie 😊
Excellent decluttering London_1 👏 How weird, surely the Deeds of the house would be enough to prove ownership 😉 Definitely a bit colder today as I had to put the heating on as well as wearing several layers 😔 Just looked at the 10 day forecast & it seems that the highest temperature will be 7C 🥶
Wednesday2000, congratulations on reaching Day 5 of Dry January 👏 I think my DSis watches Seal Team for the same reason - the eye candy 😉
flamingo747, think of all that dust you have decluttered 👏
Crazycatlady2, keeping my fingers crossed that DD surprises you with a large amount of decluttering 🤞
QueenJess, I think we might have to compose a song “Addicted to Decluttering” - you & vulpix could be the lead singers 😉 More excellent decluttering 👏
Great work BudgetingBelinda 👏 You have caught the Decluttering Bug 😊
Soontobeoap, a very productive Friday morning 🤩 Are you sure you wouldn’t like to come round to my house & help me out 😂 An excellent decluttering session 👏
QueenJess, I can confirm that you have trained DS very well 😊 After all he earned 7 x🏅 in 2023 🤩
Great decluttering Muddy_Walker 👏
Great decluttering Florafauna 👏 Please don’t forget to donate some of the banana bread to the TLC Carriage 😉
Excellent decluttering Dfw38 👏 That is an enormous bag 🤩
Muddy_Walker, sorry to hear that your jab has laid you low 😔 Hopefully a couple of days in the TLC Carriage will see you fully recovered 😊
Well I am quite happy - a fairly successful day of cheerleading 😊 Have a good night everyone 😊

Hi all, lots of sorting today but not much out of the house yet.
OH needed birthday paper and brown parcel paper so I sorted that out, so far not used as waiting for the present to come through the post. I didn't know that when the request for paper was made but I did throw away some that had got a bit battered, into the bin and recycling.
A plastic sweetie tin into the hard plastic bag that OH wanted to keep for justin but I have 'lost' the lid. I am sure I will find it after the bag has gone to the tip
I was lucky enough to get a toiletries advent calendar and have sorted through all that. There are a few things I will never use such as a hair volumiser, my hair is curly and thick, when I wore it long I did a good impression of Crystal tips. So those have been put to one side and I take them to the next meet up with ex colleagues and let them have the benefit. There is a rather lovely gold nail polish that I am wavering over but it will probably go as realistically I won't use it
.
I had a shuffle around in the freezer and gave a portion of scouse to ln, OH probably won't miss it. Progress is being made to get it empty as I am determinedly using stuff from it, lemon slices and half a lime used to make a soothing drink with some honey today
.
@Vulpix, I hope it's not the 100 day cough as wellI am fed up with it already
Right off to bed now, I am so impressed with how much people are doing. Hugs to everyone who would like one
26 wrapping paper binned / recycled
27 100 emails permanently deleted
28 portion of scouse to ln
Take care everyone

Dfw38 said:Evening all, think I have the dreaded cold that all of my family had over the past few weeks 😕. All aches and bleurgh!
Had a busy day with food shopping and buying some more clothes for dd2 (5yo) who has had yet another growth spurt! Must have been the selection box Santa left 🤣
Managed to also fit in a birthday party and a trip to the vets for Ziggy for a weigh session.. 4kg now 🤣 He fitted into my hand 5 months ago!
Here is a picture of him now;managed a spot of decluttering this evening and filled bag number 5.... the worrying thing is all so far is surface clutter and there is still loads of it!
having the rest of the night off to watch Lost, exciting!
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Morning lovelies, well after my massive decluttering session earlier on I've flagged..lol. I think I over decluttered..lol
I did declutter about a 1000 emails and an actual email account..don't need it anymore so thought why am I holding on to it? So hit delete 😆
Decluttered some more Christmas stuff into boxes and bags so that everything is ready to go into the loft when DH decides to take them.up there. That is his job so once I've decluttered into boxes it's up to him how long he takes to get them in the loft.. 😉
Come to the conclusion I have seriously brought too much from the old house when we moved. Should've been a bit more brutal, so am being brutal now. Trouble is DH has the hump over it, he wants to know if I didn't want it why did we bring it with us, and why am I saving some stuff in boxes to probably never use. My answer was if it is boxed up and in the lift I will be taking a box down at a time in a years time and if I haven't needed any of it then it will get donated or taken to the tip. I think he was happy with that solution 😀
Keep saying we need shelving units but don't seem to be getting through to DH..otherwise I have nowhere to put the ornaments I want out on display. At the moment they are squished artistically in a glass fronted large unit 😮
Have been thinking when did my hoarding get out of control and it always seems to have been in my life even when I was a kid. Maybe 2024 is the year to finally kick it into touch. 😀

Books are in 4 places in our house - my side of the bed to be read, bedroom 1 to be sorted, bedroom 2 to be sorted and the dining room (not looked at properly)
We went through bedroom 2 as these were all in crates as it was the room that was decorated last year, 60-70 books (got bored of counting at about 26) now at the charity shop. Rest of book (40-50) put back in bedroom probably to go through next year again
Also to the charity shop 3 sets of bedding and some pillowcase, pillow protectors and mattress protectors
1 kitchen cupboard sorted, it has space and looks lovely. 2nd kitchen cupboard had a mini sort as I just made a decision on 3 itemsMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

After reading all your posts & mentally limbering up on the sidelines I have made a start on mission 2024 declutter after a productive 2023 the ROD is now a fully functioning guest !!!!!! ironing room.
This year chosen ROD is the attic so today I will venture up there and begin to fling !
Along with "everyday maintenance "which I dont count as "decluttering" ie bins, old receipts tin and once a month cupboard / fridge / freezer and medicine cabinet stock check.
Even got DH on board and yesterday he spent a good few hours in his workshop clearing up which has resulted in a few item to go to the recycling container and the ability to move around in his man cave.
Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out.Thats what I keep telling myself :-)21 -
16) envelopes that took a hit with a spilt cuppa-recycling
17) item borrowed, I returned yesterday
18) items ready for a donation box-dropped off
Neutral items, another 17 sent which is allowing space to store for the other charity.58+17= 75 neutral items sentDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
