Monday: Good morning everyone. Quite bright at 10:00 a.m. even though it was cloudy. Keeping everything crossed that it stays dry today after yesterday’s heavy rain 🤞About 11:30 it became so dark that I had to turn the light on. Thought it might rain but so far not a drop (14:00) It stayed rather dull but the rain held off until 18:00 but hasn’t really stopped since 😞 Before it started raining DH filled the bird feeders & fed the worms. He also washed all the pollen off the car’s windscreen & windows. I on the other hand did nothing but clear a couple of programmes from the TV planner & watch tennis 😉 Dinner was linguine in a creamy bacon & pea sauce. Wudupa.
1050 - 1052 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, small glass pot - recycled

daisy_1571, I am quite looking forward to it 😊 Regrettably LLB has never been my cup of tea so I haven’t been watching 😉
Excellent decluttering & a Tip run vulpix 👏 Had to laugh at “ I am pleased that you enjoyed a jaunt in the car Mrs SD. No need to rush these things” 😂 I would forget the balsam bashing & just help MrV with his shed sort out 😉 Hope you enjoy your trip to London 😊 Perhaps this time you can be asked to leave The V&A 😂 Lovely to remember bit_by_bit 🥹
QueenJess, excellent work on the digital decluttering 👏 Well done on doing enough decluttering that extra tidying was not needed 😊
More excellent decluttering vulpix 👏 “How come tidying the shed has resulted in stuff in the house that needs a home finding?” - not really sure how that works 🤨 I am sure you didn’t “palm off” stuff to your neighbour but rather generously gifted useful items 😉
Florenceem, another busy weekend 👏 Congratulations to DGS on graduating 🥳 Hope you all enjoy Friday 🤞
Excellent work ilovetea both at the De-stash sale & the car boot 👏
Just noticed the time so will catch up with the cheerleading tomorrow 😉 Cwtches to all 🤗 Sleep tight 😴

Still small amounts of decluttering going on here... I had the spare room emulsion refreshed last week & have decided that a storage unit is surplus to requirements so that has been hoicked out & is awaiting a trip to the furniture chazzer.
Photo frames that used to hold my wedding photos have gone - I kept the only one I liked which now holds a wedding photo of DS2 & DDiL.
I have decided that my basket of wool is going next - I have had it for 3 years & not started anything with it.... 27 balls of Drops Eskimo / Snow in a variety of colours is now listed on Ebay. The rag-tag assortment of inherited steel knitting needles are off to the chazzer too, as I knit on bamboo ones. I have another stash of variegated yarn in cream, beige & pale grey, which will be knitted into a baby blanket for a colleague who's expecting a surprise baby in November (she recently turned 40 and thought she was peri-menopausal).

suzeesu2000 - welcome. I am a crafter and have a large stash. I know there is stuff I won't get around to using.
Mrs Sd - I am not going to the graduation - you only get 2 tickets. My Dd is sitting next to Lady Norma Charlton as one of Dgs's friends is her Dgd.
We sorted, filled and moved 18 sacks of clothes recycling last night at SA.
Wet start here.
My shopping trolley is filled ready for the charity shop - it is stuff that I sorted at SA last night.
We are going into town for the charity shop and to collect a package from the post office. Only a small amount of shopping required.

Hello suzeesu, we will support you and applaud you with your journey, welcome. I can't stand for very long and do almost all my sorting and gardening sat on the floor. As everyone has said I would suggest getting rid of obvious rubbish first and only bring in essentials. Decluttering doesn't happen overnight, it takes a while and several visits to each area. I have found with each re visit I am able to release things that I previously thought I needed to keep. Getting rid of stuff gets addictive. Start small and keep going back to admire your good work.Let us know how you get on.
LiverpoolAnne, I think a lymphatic massage is a good idea. It was like magic when I had lymphoedema after breast cancer. I was amazed at the lightness of touch needed.
Thank you, Jersey sounds like a brilliant idea, I would love the info please.I have never been and I am always up for an adventure.
Mrs SD, I managed to visit the V & A a couple of years ago and flew under the radar! The British Museum incident happened after my friend and I had spent a month hitching around Europe and we went to the British Museum to wait whilst another friend finished her shift at The Italian Hospital. I fell asleep on a bench and security moved us on! Do you know I have no recollection of how we made arrangements with the friend. How did we do stuff without a mobile phone back in the day? The whole stay with her at the Nurses home was epic! Once again no clue how we made plans but we met up with some Greek lads we had met in France, and some Irish people I had met in Scotland. Party, party, party.
Yesterday felt like a week squashed into one day as I was so tired. The shed sort out, phase 1, unearthed a few things shoved in there when we were having building work done last year and then a box of stuff from my Mum;s that I remember just not having the where with all to deal with one day. It was decorating stuff, cleaning stuff, old tins with odd door handles, hinges and stuff. I am keeping a few things to use on craft projects, and some decorating stuff that for now can go in with my things. A lot of it has been listed on Thrift and already collected, some waiting collection and some went to the tip. There are also 4 seat pads that I intend to recover for my garden chairs, but then again may not! So The Christmas things for the chazzer and the seat pads and an unfinished hand sewn patchwork quilt from Mum will go in the craft drawers that I have diligently emptied!
The plan is to concentrate on the outside, painting and balsam until DD1 moves back into her house in the Autumn. THEN, she can have all her belongings back and I can have my spare room back. The plan there is to get rid of one of the chest of drawers. After that, it is time that the loft was re visited. I seem to have DD1's stuff and some of DS's stuff up there. When we moved here my rule was nothing in the loft except suitcases!
We went to our meeting and did more makeup learning.
Craft club and shopping later. Tomorrow, Visiting my Ukranian friend and taking her some drawers.then collecting DD1 and OH from the airport. The weekend will be manic, so many commitments.

Afternoon all
Just back from Mac's nail trim at the vets. DMum decluttered his hutch while I was out with him.:)
Gardener was round this morning - he does our neighbours garden first (not the Steptoe and Son side) and then comes to us. So there is a big bag of garden waste to go with the bin collection on Friday morning. Also now have some extra planter stands DMum has to wash and store in the garage.
Today I have emptied the recycling, two binbags out to the bin (one was from Mac's hutch). Box recycled for a eBay purchase I need to send out at the weekend. Will recycle some other packaging when I seal the box - probably bubble wrap if we have any.
Have assisted Floss with her decluttering; have bought her wool for my wildlife charity blankets! 🤣🤣🐘🦏🦓
Need to sort out the conservatory later as we have our handyman coming round to damp proof a wall inside and out at the end of the week. Hopefully the weather is dry for it as it's been really wet here recently.

However he is perfect for this programme as, although I very much doubt he will personally like all these bizarre houses, he always finds something positive to say about the decor, the homeowners, their lifestyle or something. I think Kevin Mcleod would be unimpressed and say everything was a pastiche and George Clarke would bounce about calling everything off the scale bonkers. LLB, for all his faults, does it well. I personally enjoy all his archness and posturing but if you don't like that just try to ignore his look and try to just listen whenever he is in shot

I had to queue for ages this morning in the post office.
When I got home - I thought I will pop to SA with a bag for my friend and a bag of bags for the food bank. It was meant to be an in and out visit but as often happens wasn't.
I was given donations for our Christmas sale so had to go upstairs to put them away. My crate was almost full so I sorted out a bag of stuff for the charity shop. We have no table top sales for a couple of months now.
I was about to leave SA when one of the doorbells went and I was asked to answer it. Then I was asked to take cash and write a receipt.
Mr F said that he didn't make a cup of tea as he thought I wouldn't be back quickly.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
