Saturday was a miserable day - rainy & cold. I was up at 11:00 & had a strip wash. DH had a bath. The 3 of us drove down to Kent for the afternoon - in the car 😉 Birthday party for a 6 year old - our great-great nephew R. The party will be ending at 17:00 & then we will stay a couple more hours catching up with the adults. We set off about 13:15 & got home 22:15. Delays both ways although the longer delay was on the way home. My first trip in the car 🥳 we have only owned it for 5 months 🤣 Very comfortable 😊 DSis drove both ways because she rarely drinks & she likes driving 👏 Although having said that DH stuck to soft drinks as well. When we arrived we could hear the party in the back garden - sounded like about 200 kids 😳 In fact only 20, accompanied by mostly dads with a few mums. A good idea as it meant that nearly everyone left before 17:00 so the Dads could watch the football - apparently there was an important game on 🤣 The weather stayed fine apart from a 15 minute downpour at about 15:30. DH’s great niece & her husband had hired a bouncy castle for their son’s party so the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves - they had plenty to eat & drink & a large garden with what seemed like hundreds of toys to play with. Most of birthday boy’s similarly aged cousins turned up as well so we got to see nearly all DH’s extended family 😊 - although several of the adults turned up after the party & in time to watch the football. DH’s niece ordered pizza which we had whilst watching the football. Birthday boy started opening his presents after the football had finished - enough toys to fill a new branch of Toys’r’Us 😅 & he didn’t even open all of them 😉 All the adult family members including us left at about 20:45. P.S. I finally delivered the 2 pairs of fingerless mittens I had made for DH’s brother in law - who would have thought that he would need them in July 😅
1045 - 1046 Fingerless mittens delivered
Sunday was overcast but in the hour I have been up the sky has cleared & the sun is shining 13:00) 😊 DH is watching MotoGP racing - last ones until early August. I have my cuppa & will try to catch up with the cheerleading 🤞
Wednesday2000, hope you enjoyed Saturday night’s football 🙂 Fingers crossed for the house valuations 🤞 Sorry to hear about the weird dreams 😔
TC77, you are very welcome 😊 DSis used to use Oxford pillowcases in the gite - they look classy 😉 Don’t forget to update your numbers 😉
Florenceem, hopefully you can get caught up on your missed sleep 🤞
Pennypincin, pleased to see you back 👋 & I hope everything is OK 🙂 Well done on both the decluttering & the housework 👏
Florafauna good luck for tomorrow’s move 🍀
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 So pleased to hear that your ‘day off decluttering’ turned into such a successful day 😊 Also very pleased to hear that DH is/appears to be getting on board - finally 😉 Now you just need him to turn talk into action 🤞
Brie, sounds like OH needs some more ‘training’ possibly with a ‘big stick’ 😂
vulpix, I hadn’t really heard of either of those comedians, so watched a little clip of each - both quite funny but not a fan of swearing so my initial reaction is that I prefer Alfie 🤔 You do like to mix it up - Sunday dinner on a Saturday 😊 You are a woman after my own heart although I usually make my Sunday dinners on a Monday 😉 and have been known to make them on a Wednesday or Thursday 🤣 No possible way you can disturb your cats, so the sort out of the chest of drawers will just have to wait 😉
I had to break off here as suddenly the sun has vanished & it has got so dark that I might have to turn on the lights 😧 Yep, lights on & it is raining stair rods now, apparently for at least the next hour 😔
crazybunnylady4, how lovely of your line manager to ‘keep your sanity safe’ 😊 As to the ‘Steptoe & Son’ neighbours, fingers crossed that the council can get something done 🤞
Liverpool_Anne, you have certainly been busy 👏 Very generous to describe the outgoing government as having ‘intelligent people’ 🤭 Sorry 😞 Good luck with getting rid of the self seeded tree 🍀 I trust that you will get OH to do the heavy digging 🙏 Pleased to hear that you enjoyed the union conference 😊 although sorry to hear that Covid is on the rise in your area 😔 Hope you enjoy the birthday party 😊 Please don’t forget to donate some cheesecake & profiteroles to the TLC Carriage 😉 Excellent decluttering 👏 I am polishing up the gold star in anticipation 😉
Chris.R, in lieu of making 1.5 million on the stock market, I hope we will see a bit more of you on the thread 😉 I was curious about the word ‘kutundu’ so looked it up with not much success 😔 Although I did find a similar word ‘katundu’ 🤔 I see from your final comment that you have rather a ‘dry & wry’ sense of humour 🤣
London_1, getting very exciting now 🥳 Only two more ‘sleeps’ until you begin the great trek south 😊 Shame about the change of timings but at least you will finally be on your beloved Isle of Wight 😊 Keeping everything crossed that the weather is kind & stays dry for the whole day both here on the mainland & on the IoW 🤞Good luck 🍀
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏
vulpix, hope the weather perks up enough for you to not only dig up the plants that are being collected & continue the balsam bashing but also to start on the sapling removal 🤞Good luck with the chest of drawers decluttering 🍀 More excellent decluttering & well done on reducing your ‘too small clothes’ to just a quarter of a drawer 👏
TC77, you are definitely picking up the pace with your decluttering & well done on reaching your decision to release the deckchair to a new owner so quickly 👏
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 Well done on encouraging your DD to finish dealing with paperwork & her craft drawer 👏 I am awarding her another medal 🏅 to add to her growing collection 🤞I was surprised & delighted that your DH sorted out the storage boxes so quickly & am awarding him his first medal 🏅 Long may he continue in the same vein 🤞 Sending lots of positive vibes that he might just start decluttering stuff from his boxes in the loft 🙏
crazybunnylady4, me too - I did investigate & the signage on the vans is “Cowes Moooovers” although the email website is ‘cowesmovers’ 😅 Sorry to hear that you are feeling unwell 😔 but very pleased that you are listening to your body & only pottering 👏 Please take it is easy for the rest of the day & don’t forget to pop into the TLC Carriage 😊 Hopefully Liverpool_Anne will have donated some cheesecake & a few profiteroles 🙏
The rain stopped about 15:20 & the sun is currently out 🙂 long may it last 🤞 I have the tennis on currently watching Alcaraz v Humbert. Sad to see M Keys have to pull out due to injury 😔 Need to find something to do to help move my decluttering figures along as I am still a few days behind on being able to reach my target for 2024 😉

Thank you.
The cooling racks have been claimed and will go Thursday.
1 T-shirt and broken vacuum sealing clothes bag has been binned, 1 pair of plimsolls and 1 pair of walking boots have been put onto the WhatsApp recycling group.
The only pair of johdpurs I have and have slimmed out of are in the charity shop bag along with a pair of walking sandals.
Edit to add a character carrier bag is in the charity shop bag and I've re-homed a pack of cheap biros and a cheap pack of permanent markers.Decluttering campaign 2023

Went through a load of sheet music given to me and sorted out what I might possibly want to keep. There's a copy of Rocking Robin and there's a load of classical stuff - Mozart, etc. The rest of the stuff is in the charity shop pile. The stuff I'm keeping will be used in artwork unless I can find a musical friend that wants a couple of complete opera overtures. (don't like ripping up usable stuff but random bits is fine)
Also not so much a declutter but a repurposed. I have some watercolour inks I want to use but they stain things quite easily and I have a white art desk. So OH had dumped a fairly large sheet of glass, likely a shelf or top to a stereo unit, in the garage so I've cleaned that and it will go on my desk to keep it cleaner. It's larger than an A3 paper so I can also use it for cutting paper with an exacto knife (salvaged from somewhere - got about 30 years use left in them perhaps....)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Hi yes it really is called Cowes Moovers, it has a big black and white logo and a picture on the side of the containers
its a well known company on the island and they have been really good considering how many times we almost had a date then there was a legal hold up in the chain.
I'm down to the bare bones of packing now, and my son-in-law is coming tomorrow afternoon to disconnect my TV and stuff for me, and they will be blanket wrapped with throws then the movers also supply special containers for tvs so I had to borrow a tape measure to measure the screen size as I couldn't remember what size it was. Everything is packed away like that. Now have 18 boxes in my sitting room so its become even smaller
Only left out a mug ,knife fork and spoon and virtually all the food in the fridge is gone and enough left for tomorrow and Tuesday breakfast then everything is used up
Once I'm on the road afte aloud 1.00 on Tuesday I will really feel its happening, we have had so many things hold us up that I'm trying not to get too excited just yet
I saw my eldest granddaughter, and two great granddaughters this afternoon when DD picked me up and although sad in a way my granddaughter is pleased that we have finally got things all settled.
I shall see my eldest DD at lunchtime tomorrow to say cheerio, so hopefully she will be Ok as she's also sad I'm going but I'm not too far away unlike her son, our Danny who lives in new York and I only see on face time unless he comes over and I've not seen him for almost 2 years in real life.`i've watched their little girl Daisy, who was born a year ago last Friday grow up via facetime and I see videos of her learning to walk and now she's toddling around.
But it is what it is and I can't see Danny coming back to the uk at all as him and his wife and baby are quite settled there Danny has lived in the USA for over 7 years now so I think he seems to enjoy his job and lifestyle which is the main thing
Right , off to bed for a read I think I'm reading 'Suite Francaise' at the moment and really enjoying it.
Good night, God bless all here

The rain stayed away for most of the rest of the afternoon & ended up being quite pleasant if a little chilly - maximum temperature 17C I sorted out a bit of paperwork & then sorted out the bag of donations from my DSis. I will be counting as I will be the one dropping off at the CS 😉 DH popped out to pick up some bread. Dinner was true comfort food - sausages, mash & baked beans. Wudupa. P.S. whilst I remember there is a series of The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning starting on Thursday 11th July at 9.00 p.m. on Channel W 🙂
1047 - 1048 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans cans - recycled

Excellent decluttering Pennypincin 👏 & congratulations on what I am assuming is a deliberate weight loss 😊
Excellent decluttering & repurposing Brie 👏
Thanks daisy_1571 😊 Hopefully it won’t be another 5 months before my next trip out in the car 🤣
London_1, almost there 😊 I take it that you have kept a book out or have a radio to keep you entertained on your last night 😉 Lovely to see your DGD & DGGDs before you leave 😊 Hopefully once you are settled they will come & visit 🤞& your eldest DD as well 🤞 Hooray for FaceTime 👏 although not quite as good as being able to give Danny, his wife & Daisy a hug in real life it is eminently preferable to a phone call or a letter 😊
Cwtches to all 🤗 & I hope everyone gets a good night’s sleep 😴

Sunday declutters
10 audio leads found to be faulty by Mr V
2 knitting patterns
some broken pegs
pack of luggage labels and twine for craft club project.
recycled some gift tags I had made from old cards. The family does secret Santa now so just don't need very many at all.
Good call with the deck chair TC. you don't have the time, let someone else enjoy it.
I am pleased that you enjoyed a jaunt in the car Mrs SD. No need to rush these things. We are making plans to go to London in August. Mr V used to DJ in Leicester Square, I have been 4 times previously. One of the times I was asked to leave The British Museum.
I will be on my best behaviour this time.
Our weather forecast is a full dry day today. Balsam bashing it is then. I don't feel like it as I have only had 5 hours sleep. Mr V wants to continue the big sheds sort out. As it will be dry he wants to get everything out to asses it.
Mr V had less sleep. He worked last night and got a call from DD2 to say she was stranded in Warwick after a Mika concert. Mercy dash to Warwick and slept on DD2's sofa. We have a casualties meeting tonight. Can't let them down but feel rough already. Can't wait for bed time.
A large bag of things for the charity shop today.
Laters Vx:14 -
A car full of stuff taken to the tip. Too much to itemise. Some bags brought in that was stuff for bit by bit. 😢 mostly Christmas stuff. I will put it in the spare room with all the other tat currently shoved in there. It can go to the charity shop nearer the time.:13
