Back to the digital stuff today and continuing going through the never ending digital photos. This is what happens when you never delete or go through any of them in your life! I did more than one folder today, so that counts as my daily declutter task. Still got about 2,500 photos on my laptop to go through and um... lots left on my phone. On my phone I've been going through them on a month basis to break it down. So I will look for all photos for April 2022 for example, delete the ones I don't want and then put the remainder into folders. I have a note to let me know which months I've already completed and I also have an app which shows me how many photos have been filed into folders. Hoping to get down to few enough that I can store them all on both my laptop and phone and also can feed them all into a very ancient but spare iPad I was given that I can use as a photo frame. Then I can enjoy all my photos
I think I started off with 6,700 photos on my phone and I'm down to 2,745, so I am slowly getting there.
My house is also a lot tidier this week despite me not doing any tidying and just decluttering.... says it all really!Digital:

Another half car of stuff for the tip on the way to our meeting tonight. No balsam bashed. I feel too rough.Lots listed on thrift. 5 things collected already. Other stuff left outside for collection. If the other stuff doesn’t go by Wednesday it’s going to the tip.How come tidying the shed has resulted in stuff in the house that needs a home finding?:15

Palmed my neighbour off with about 10 unwanted greetings cards and a roll of wrapping paper. A huge amount of sandpaper and a hair dryer. Other stuff left outside for collection.Off out now, is it bedtime yet?

I didn't post yesterday.
We were on duty Saturday night to take in the M & S food delivery.
We had two services at Church yesterday.
I did some sorting of donations while I was at Church in the afternoon.
Dgs is home and he graduates on Friday.
I was asked to send photos of the awful fence to the council planning dept - they are going to do a site visit.
Today I altered/shortened two dresses for Ddil.
Going out soon to SA as Mr F said there were bags of donations by the hopper and rain is forecast for this evening.

You all seem to have been busy.
Had a good weekend.
Went to a De-Stash sale on Saturday. Sold quite a bit.
Took the leftovers to a car boot on Sunday. Was doing well till the heavens opened.
People started packing up and so did we..
I wasn't charging a lot but happy with what I got.
1288- 1427. Items sold over the weekend.
1428-29 Rubbish and recycling out.
1430 Cushion with broken zip. Binned.
1431-32 2 cardboard boxes broken down and recycled.
Must try and get things sorted for when I move. Just not sure where to start.
Take care every one.

Please May I join your happy little band of declutterers? I am on the beautiful Isle of Wight in a two bed house that is stuffed to the gunnels with stuff. Stuff I hoard, stuff I don’t really need. I’m also a crafter and the old adage is so true in my case: buying craft supplies and actually using them are two different hobbies!I desperately need encouragement to get on with it. I did start trying to declutter under my ottoman bed but disability stopped me. My legs would just not cooperate but I still go one bag of stuff shifted to the charity shop.
I am seriously lacking in motivation even though I am aching for a clearer cleaner home. HELP😀Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Welcome suzeesu
If uve been reading along you will be aware of the various techniques that work better at some time than another, we often swap between different ideas as the motion takes us.
The only advice I'd give is to pick an area be it small or large, single drawer, a corner or a whole room. Go through it getting rid of obvious rubbish, things that are broken, packaging, old mail envelopes, dead batteries etc. Sort into types of thing. Put anything that shouldn't live there into its proper home along with any others (like with like) but do not get sidetracked into clearing that area - you are only dumping items there just now. You'll tidy it once you get to it. If you can beautifully clear that one area that might give you the motivation to continue.
Good luck and keep posting, we will help any way we can

176)-184) some items could of been considered neutral items, but some bits were bought specifically and were just floating around the house and some bits were in my present stash which is overtaking the house so 9 items/ bags of items donated to the Duneln Summer Bag of Joy appeal.
185) while at Duneln- our store has various collection points for items to be re used for people in need, I dropped off a summer double quilt. While trying to get it out of the airing cupboard, various other bits fell out that I haven’t seen for a very long time so will be going through them to see what stays and what goes
186) full bag of cat sachets into recycling collection bin at Pets At H@meNeutral items- another 30 boxed up ready to be sent to the organiser which is 352+30= 382 out of the house tomorrowDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

@suzeesu - I know what you mean. I can only stand for a couple of minutes at a time right now due to sciatica (I am hoping therapy will help). And I have three roommates who haven't done any work around this house except for their own rooms for over 10 years. And another roommate who is a hoarder and has stuff all over the downstairs floor. I get overwhelmed within minutes. One thing I have found is helping is to sit down and plan where things should go before I start moving anything. Deciding where the best place for anything means you won't have to move it again. Clearing the trash away and putting new items away as they come into the house helps too. Some days all I get do is get the planning started. Getting things into bags to give away will come next.15

Hi all. We had a lovely picnic in the park yesterday. The forecast was for thunder storms but they didn't appear so mostly clear skies with a gentle breeze, perfect
. Friend's son and fiance have decided to get married before the baby arrives, date set for 28th Sept, the due date for the baby is Christmas day
, so we have an invite and I haven't a clue what I will wear, some serious clothes sorting will have to be done
. Luckily it is going to be a small, relaxed and informal wedding so nothing too dressy required but I fear it will need something new
. Apart from the picnic a few things were decluttered, 2 LDFPA, kitchen recycling, cakes from the fridge tastefully arranged on a sandwich tray that OH had saved, now no longer cluttering up the kitchen, YAY
, the present, wrapping paper and card along with 2 gift bags. Friend's son asked if I wanted the bags back but I said they were now his and it was his responsibility to pass them on
. I actually didn't have any of the cake we took as fiance had made a very scrummy pavlova so I had some of that and very nice it was too
Today we had a reflexology session. I treated OH as a birthday present and we both enjoyed it very much. I will probably have another session in a while as I enjoyed it so much. I have always enjoyed having a foot massage and it was very similar. OH is considering having a lymphatic massage which might help the swollen and sore knee, fingers crossed. This has been a problem for years but OH refuses to go to the doctor about it even though it affects mobility quite badly, unable to walk for more than about an hour, struggles with stairs and walks quite slowly. I have disengaged from the problem as I just get shouted at now. Before we went out I got another load of washing out, the weather was good and so 1 LDFPA. I had another go at the tree, 3 branches chopped and pushed into the green bin along with a couple of brambles that have shot up. I think I have chopped off all the branches I can safely reach, it is now about 25 ft tall and I need a saw to take out the 3 big main trunks to get to the rest. We do have an electric saw somewhere but I failed to find it today in the last place I thought it would be. I actually contemplated going to buy another one but our local bnq was out of stock. I am going to have to do a serious sort out in the conservatory to try to locate it, or some sort of saw to get the tree down. While looking a few things were binned and 3 dvds were put into the cs bag. Neither of us knows where they came from and are assuming they were gifts but they are still in their wrappers. I had a phone call about a union thing so that will be ongoing for a couple of days and I did a bit of ironing, now it's warm enough not to need a jumper the t shirts need to be ironed to stop me looking like I have been dragged through a hedge in them
.
@Vulpix I hate to agree but yes that sapling will have to go. The one in my garden has almost doubled in size since the start of the year. I had a thought about a holiday destination for you. How about Jersey? It might sound odd but apparently you can get flights from Liverpool for less than £30 and the flight is only 35 mins. Ln has a granddaughter working there atm and often comes home for the weekend, arriving on friday evening and returning on Sunday evening, and other family members have visited her for the weekend. They usually stay in an airbnb so if you were interested I could ask where they stay. I know you are looking for mid week but my understanding is that there are flights every day.
@suzeesu2000 welcome aboard, lovely people on here who are full of motivational tips. Just don't put yourself under too much pressure, everything is a step in the right direction. Looking forward to hearing about your journey
Ok, I am falling asleep now so I had better get this posted. I am sure there was a lot more I was going to say but my mind is blank
. Hugs to everyone who would like one
