Still really busy at work, but going to need to slow down a bit as I will burn myself out otherwise. Saying that, DD woke up at 4am and after reading to get her back to sleep I couldn't get back to sleep myself. So I am completely knackered now. Definitely an early night tonight.A bit of decluttering that I must have squeezed in somehow.. I'm like a hawk in all the kitchen drawers and cupboards at the moment trying to work out where all the excess is. Still slow progress in there and quite behind my mini challenge target. Hoping to do a little everyday to catch up. I listed the food containers where I thought I didn't need them. I don't have the energy to waste on decisions of things that cost a pittance. Absolute worst case scenario is I have to buy one, but I've not had to do that yet in all my decluttering.Physical:
4 - food cupboard overstock used up
2 - paper recycled
5 - paper, reused then recycled
1 - packaging, reused
6 - DD greetings cards/art work recycled/binned
2 - random DS tat binned
4 - kitchen containers I don’t need (Buy Nothing)New total = 6,865April kitchen mini declutter: 18/50Congrats to all those successfully decluttering prior to a house move. Even the thought of moving house brings me out in a cold sweat!2025 decluttering: 4,011 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟

I have bids on about five things on the online selling platform, so they will at least go. I've got a few more things to list, mainly footwear, and a couple of adverts to amend as I had to wash a few bits. I've been mithering about this for months, I'm so glad it's (nearly) done. I will learn nothing from this.

To be fair to me, i have been learning a lot from decluttering. I'm not totally responsible for everything that's found its way into the house but I am the one who's been left with shifting it - it's time consuming, and can be emotional. Clothes are a bit of an issue - my size has fluctuated a lot over the last few years and I have two growing children. Hopefully my weight has stabilised now, and the hand-me-downs are less I can get to grips with it a bit better. I would much prefer to be in a position where I feel happy to pass something on/charity shop it/bin it than try and make money.
I don't think I'm explaining myself very well but I know who mean 😅15 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Never did come back yesterday - so much for setting a timer 🙊 However I have knitted one & 3/4 mittens 😉 Very mixed weather including thunder & hail 😦 DH & my DSis finished their Chinese & I had cheesy baked beans on toast for my dinner. Wudupa.
555 - 557 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, foil trays - recycled
558 Kitchen detritus binned
Tuesday - back to getting up very late - noon 😔 DH decided not to go out as the weather is very changeable- overcast, damp & dark & chilly 🥶 DSis has headed off for her exercise/breathing class. 13:00 & I have just heard thunder to go with the heavy rain 😞 I have no mail to deal with today, so I did some digital decluttering instead before starting on the cheerleading 😉
London_1, absolutely brilliant decluttering 👏 at the rate you are going you will soon have an almost empty house 🤩 I can almost ‘feel’ your excitement every time you post 😊 Loved reading about Daisy - she sounds like a right ‘Bobby dazzler’ 😊
Florenceem, thank you for the lovely compliment ☺️ I have been keeping up with your makes on the ‘No Craft Spending’ thread & am always amazed at how beautiful your ‘makes’ are 😊 + you are so organised 👏 Still wondering how you find time to sleep especially now that you have added a tailoring service to your daily activities 🤩
Moorviews, thank you for the lovely compliment ☺️
Excellent decluttering wishus 👏 Well done on your sales 🥳 Good luck with the bathroom renovation 🍀
Siebrie, such a shame that the weather wasn’t nicer for the garage sale 😔 but well done in persevering 👏 I hope you managed to sell everything & didn’t need to take anything home 🤞 Also well done on sticking to your decision to sell the garden furniture despite the “frozen atmosphere at home” 👏
charlies_tribe, the odd thing about losing the post is that I always type in ‘notes’ then copy, paste & post 🤔 so not quite sure what happened - a Twilight Zone moment 👻 Oops to the hidden boiler 🙊 Whilst I remember, I am sending a Gold Star ⭐️ as you are over halfway to your target for the year 🥳
oceanspirit, hopefully a couple of test drives will help you narrow down choosing a new car 🤞 Just wondering if the tea set is particularly pretty 🤔 If not, maybe you are considering leaving it for the next people should you ever decide to move 😉
bamboo_socks, beautiful cat 😻 really like the scissors growing out of his/her head 😅 Sorry, I will put myself on the naughty step 😉
vulpix, well done on resisting temptation at the car boot sale 👏 although sorry to hear that you were feeling so rough on Sunday 😔 A lovely post 😊 & I am really enjoying the ongoing conversation about gardens 😊 Very decent of you to keep the teddy bears warm 🤣 Shame about the yarn 😔
Excellent decluttering & task completion GrannyKate 👏 Good luck with the two viewings 🍀
Crazycatlady2, that is what I call decluttering 😉 Hopefully you are enjoying having the house to yourself 😊
EnergyShifter, so sorry to hear that the laser surgery on your eye has been delayed 😔 Although you have still managed some excellent decluttering & completion of tasks 👏 Please take care 🙏 & I look forward to reading your next post once the procedure has been done & you have recovered. Meanwhile I am sending cwtches 🤗
Well done on decluttering the unsuitable napkins Brie 👏
Florenceem, another busy day for both you & MrF 😊 Lovely to hear that MrF is keeping so active 😊
Excellent decluttering mhagster 👏 especially the large furniture 🙂
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 Hope you have a lovely holiday with your friend 😊 Fingers crossed that you have dry & warm weather 🤞
Siebrie, pleased to hear that your ‘saner head’ has prevailed 😉🙂
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 I am so impressed at how much you get done even whilst being so busy at work 🤩 I will join in the club of “the thought of moving house brings me out in a cold sweat” 😉 Please, please try to take it easier 🙏 remember the TLC Carriage is always open 🙂
London_1, more excellent decluttering 👏 I too will keep my fingers crossed that the bed will soon have a new home 🤞
Except decluttering bamboo_socks 👏 & good luck with the last of the listings 🍀 I understand exactly what you mean 😊
All caught up 😮💨 I really must get into a proper routine 😔 DH has been busy 👏 Yesterday he tried to get into the shed but the door wouldn’t open 😱 so today he took the door off at the hinges only to discover that the inside handle was lying on the shed floor 😧 Anyway, long story short he has made a successful repair & we can now get into the shed 🥳 He is so chuffed as am I, so I am awarding him a medal 🏅 - mostly for tackling the task so quickly 👏 I will finish knitting the first pair of fingerless mittens & start on the 2nd pair - at least I am decluttering yarn 😉
Wishing everyone as good a day as possible despite the awful weather & cwtches all round 🤗

Hello. It’s been a nice day here so far so I was spurred to venture into the garage!Have three items getting collected in the next hour. All claimed within minutes of going on local FB page!Stuff in bin.Stuff in recycling bins.
Stuff to move to new house on one side of garage
Stuff to go to daughters ( she’s been told it has to start going this weekend) in middle of garage.
Stuff for the recycling centre which I’ve made an appointment for tomorrow morning.A handful of CDs into my car! The only place I can play a CD! Had donated loads to charity shop last year and had only kept a few.Felt a very productive 45 minutes! Still loads to do in the garage but is a start! I’d already cleared a lot out last year but still loads!
Also booked in my removal company. They’ll drop off boxes tomorrow afternoon which means I can get a serious start on packing!18 -
Mrs SD - you are making me want to do some knitting. What pattern do you use for men's fingerless gloves?
I enjoy hand sewing - may be because I am getting a sit down..
DDil decided to have the dresses shortened by 2 inches when she got back to me last night.
Mr F popped to SA to check if any donations outside last night - the recycling hopper is full - 2 bags of stuff came in the house and was quickly sorted.
I packed a trolley of stuff for the charity shop this morning and Mr F dodged the showers to take it into town.
I popped to SA - donations there to sort and then I came home. Realised that I had left my reading glasses at SA - so back I went - got roped into arranging flowers and taking in more donations.
Mr F came home with 2 more bags from outside SA - he didn't want to disturb Bible study - I quickly sorted them
Eldest DGd called here this afternoon - she is off to Australia tomorrow for 3 months - I told her not to fall in love with an aussie and stay there. DGd replied - I won't - aussie men have mullets and moustaches!
I have shortened the school dresses this afternoon.

Best bit of decluttering today I posted about wanting someone for my stair lift as I won't need it in my new house and someone locally phoned and its going to this ladies parents house locally and the donation is going to my gt niece who is running in this years London Marathon that she's running for Alzheimer's charity as my late sis-in law (her Nan) died of this awful disease 4 years ago. so win-win for us all
I'm so pleased as this lady had been told her Dad who is in his late 80s had been told by local council its an 18 month waiting list

Hello. Haven't posted for a few days and found I had 70 posts to read!.
Sorry but can't really remember what most people have written.
After my "mishap" last week I put my self in the TLC carriage. The cakes in there were lovely :-).
Done a bit of decluttering, not much.
921-922, Rubbish and recycling out. More than once but I don't know how often.
923-929. magazine and newspaper to neighbour.
930 Book to book swap box.
931-949. e-bay sales posted thanks to friend.
Looking round there is so much that could go and I will do it.
Take care everyone.
ilovetea xx
