Hi, well done on keeping on keeping on with all the decluttering everybody. I seem to be recluttering. Yikes.
Didn't sleep much Saturday night so we were up and out to the car boot sale at 7am. Neither of us bought anything. Back home by 10 and I slept for 4 hours. Felt rough for the rest of the day so just watched TV and did knitting. Slept 12 hours last night, catching up for a rough week last week. Now I have some vim and vigour it is cold, wet, dark, sunny and hailstoney outside.
Beautiful knitting Mrs SD, such a lovely colour , it seems to suit most people.
Thank you for the offer of plants Liverpool Anne, I would be very grateful. Stocking a garden is very expensive. At my last house I made a small bed in the front garden and the few plants were £60. There are a few English bluebells in the top garden already so unfortunately I think I will have to decline yours in case they don't mix! Everything else sounds perfect. I rather fancy a fernery. Just say the word and we could call over and collect. We love an excuse for a road trip.
Thank you for the compliment Moorviews, You are welcome to visit, as is anyone is who happens to be passing. I love starting a garden from scratch, you get to do exactly what you like. The neighbours at my last house must have thought I was very nosy. I used to look out of the bedroom window for hours thinking of how to use the space and planning the garden. My last garden was the opposite of this one,sun all day so it glowed with yellow, orange and red flowers. None of those plants are suitable for the shade and damp I have here.
Bamboo socks your cat is gorgeous.
In recluttering news.I have bought a new to me throw for the spare bed. Although I hardly ever go in the spare room the teddy bear blanket on the bed was offending me! Mr V bought me some silver and turquoise earrings last week too.
The shelves I bought are going in the shed,it's a shame to cut them up. Arkwright has listed some more stuff on fb. The sheds are the only un tapped area for big numbers to de clutter. I have a sentry box with garden stuff and a half shed/ bike shed. Currently there is a chest of drawers in it waiting for me to restore it. That is at the back of the queue. Other fish to fry first. The second cast iron chair is back and repaired. I will give it a coat of paint this afternoon whilst watching TV. I have started a new little baby jumper with the wool I bought on Saturday. It isn't knitting up in a lovely manner, it's variegated colours. I will do the back and make a decision.
Love to all Vx:20 -

Only decluttering I did today was sending everyone to work and school and decluttered a pot noodle and some chocolate lay on bed watching TV 🤣
I did usual housework jobs and a bit of cleaning and got 2 loads of washing part dry outside in the wind between rain storms though18 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Forgot to mention that yesterday I also decluttered a gift bag to S 😉

Monday: DH heard rain about 09:00 so stayed in bed & will go out tomorrow on RBR - Floss is correct Round Britain Rally 😊 Now quite bright but rather chilly although the sun is attempting to appear with minimal success - a maximum of 13C is forecast for the day. Up & about at 11:15 with the first order of business to find a ball of yarn - either black or dark blue as I have been commissioned to knit a pair of fingerless mittens for my DBiL 😉 I have a ball of each colour & will make a pair in each colour. I have used up enough yarn to empty out another cubby hole in the bedroom wall unit 🥳
Natty68, lovely to see you & no need to apologise for being too busy to post regularly ‘wagging finger emoji’ 😉 Although it is great news that your DH is still decluttering 👏 A medal 🏅 is on its way to join his gold star 😊 Mind you I see you have done a lot more excellent decluttering so a medal 🏅is also on its way to you 👏 It sounds like you are settling in nicely in your new home 😊 & very well done on decluttering so many books 🥳 I hope the weather was nice yesterday & that you managed to get the weeding & planting out completed 🤞Remember that any decluttering is a success story & your approach (bursts of activity) is working for you 😊
Florenceem, pleased to hear that you had an easier day on Saturday 😊 although I see that you still managed to do 4 times as much as I did 😉
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 You have been very busy so I am pleased to award you a medal 🏅 Fingers crossed that viewings will start this week 🤞
Congratulations on the new kitchen elly68 🥳 Good luck with both the clothing & kitchen decluttering 🍀
Wednesday2000, sounds like you are getting all set to join our growing number of Declutterati who are on the move 😉 An eclectic mix of classic films although I will confess to never having watched The Blair Witch Project as the style of filming has never appealed to me. I enjoyed Panic Room & Copland is one of my favourite films - a departure from Sylvester Stallones’s usual fare + I am a big fan of Ray Liotta 😉
Brie, rather enjoying the conversation about hiking boots especially the fact that your brand has outlasted OH’s 😉
Floss, your boots lasted really well - 14 years 🤩
Great work Soontobeoap 👏 I am sure that your neighbour doesn’t mind the slight delay 😊 I really do need to get a move on with my garden but have gotten rather soft in my old age & need the temperature to be up in the low 20’s 😉
TC77, great decluttering & well done on utilising something you already have & returning the unsuitable item 👏 Still leaping 🥳
Great decluttering GrannyKate 👏 That bungalow sounds very interesting - the large garage with workshop & potting shed would please both me & DH no end & we would probably arrange an internal viewing 😉
Great decluttering Florafauna 👏
Currently struggling with concentration, so I will post this & try again in an hour or so - timer is on 🙂 I might even start knitting BiL’s fingerless mittens 😉 The sun has been appearing intermittently 🙂 but it is very windy which makes it feel rather chilly 😔

Apparently I've missed 313 posts! Not surprised since I last posted before Easter.
The saga with my eye continues. I can barely see out of it now. I can do most things but reading is super-tiring - hence my absence from the forum. I was meant to have the laser treatment this Thursday but got a phone call today saying it was cancelled - going to have to wait a month now. I was upset to start with but I've made my peace with it. Thankfully I'm not in pain and the wait won't affect the outcome of the procedure.
During my break initially I was still making a note of items IN & OUT but have given up now. I'd say that it's about equal - perhaps slightly more out than in - I've just taken a large sack of clothes to the CS & there's a smaller bag waiting for textile recycling. I think I'm going to abandon counting and trust myself to maintain. If I find myself slipping I will start again.
I do hope you are all keeping well. I'm afraid there's no chance of me catching up on messages. 💐
Edit: Thought of a few things I've done during my break:
- returned duvet cover set
- course assignment finished (only one more to go!)
- contacted the "bathroom guy" and made arrangement to have that finished in a few weeks.
- Had lock changed on front door - it's been dodgy for a while.
- Winter duvet, dressing gowns & rug - all packed away & in loft (still left plenty of warm stuff down though)

Ironed the napkins yesterday (a twice annual event normally) and this included a pair of realllllly lovely ones that I bought at a craft show. At least they would be lovely if they were a decent size. These are about 6 inches wide and maybe 18 inches long. Not suitable for 2 messy people like me and him (we need bibs). Great if you had people over for cocktails perhaps but we don't. So after ironing I matched them up with the 2 we hadn't yet used and put them in the chazza box. OH questioned this and I said it was pointless keeping them. And next time I'll know to check sizes before I buy replacements!! Not that we really need or have room for replacements - we have at least a dozen sets, not including the special ones for Christmas. Need to get rid of some of the older grubby stained ones to make room for anything new.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Mr F went off this morning with a trolley of stuff for the charity shop.
I popped into town and called at SA on my way home - there were some donations so I sorted them.
I got another trolley full ready and Mr F went off to a different charity shop.
I cut 6 inches off my friend's trousers and stitched a hem - just need to give them a press.
After lunch - Mr F went out again with more stuff to the charity shop - he is keeping very active.
Someone saw me eating chocolate cake at SA yesterday and remarked that I don't put on weight - I would if I didn't rush around so much.
Ddil called with the next lot of alterations - she just text me measurement - 1 inch - lot of work for that.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Nothing out over the weekend.Today was a sofa and 2 chairs. Bought from a charity shop four years ago and owes me nothing! Too big for new house. Would eat up the room! So it’s gone to another charity shop. Two nice chatty chaps came and collected it this afternoon.
Then a chair was collected for free from marketplace. It’s an up-cycling project! Again bought from a charity shop 10 years ago in Australia. And someone then had removed the legs and replaced it with a swivel thing, that always was on a bit of a wonk so you got sea sick sitting on it! Loved, thanked and passed on…and hope they don’t get as dizzy as I do 😆
Pair of beautiful dungarees sold on Vinted. That I’d bought on Vinted but were for an extremely tall person…I am not!18 -
Loving all the pictures of knitting, cats and gardens.
DD2 will be going back to uni on Sunday and I'm off on hols with a friend tomorrow for 4 nights first holiday abroad for years! Been sorting summer/winter clothes and stuff for holiday ready to pack tomorrow and amount of stuff in my bedroom is overwhelming. Trying to think of it as an 'abundance' that means I can give some away. That will be for when I'm home.
Spare laundry basket picked up and landline phone been on free site for weeks picked up. Mislaid my 2 favourite rings (not v valuable but give me joy wearing them). I decided that they would turn up but weeks later I realised I should have looked then in case they've fallen into something and left the house by accident.Haven't done no update for ages, last was 583, so will have a guestimate of 620 as have been unsubscribing and deleting emails and photos, thought some seem to reappear!
Hope everyone ok with the severe gales, I found it difficult battling the winds tonight and not so bad in London.19 -
All the garage sale stuff has been sorted into 'keep for a bit longer' and 'can go'. I've been ruthless with the old plastic toys and most will go to the dump this Wednesday. The books that didn't sell are already in the village's Little Library.Atmosphere at home less frosty, as we discussed the value of sending rusty warped cheap furniture to a country where the lovely handmade items cost pittance.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5919
