Been busy baking on my day off, so the TLC carriage is now fully stocked up with hm goodies. We have flapjacks, banana drop scones, granola and spelt bread.Been too tired from work to do much tidying or decluttering, so tackling it in very small bits. Am trying to tackle some of the kitchen to try and get it under control. Not sure how much there is to go; I just know that the kitchen stresses me out a bit, so there is definitely too much in there. Going to do a mini challenge to see if I can find 50 things to go in the kitchen before the end of the month. No idea if that is achievable, but it will at least challenge me to see what I can find in there to eject or use up.Physical:
3 - lamp plus accessories not needed (Buy Nothing)
6 - paper, reused then recycled
3 - food cupboard overstock used up
2 - spiralizer and lid I don’t get on with (Buy Nothing)
1 - extra jar not needed (Buy Nothing)1 - empty packaging recycled from kitchen drawerNew total = 6,833I also re-homed a random "bit" that came off the fridge out of the kitchen drawer and back onto the fridge. Doesn't seem to do anything, but now it isn't cluttering up my drawer. Got two more of those to go back onto stuff when I get there. Will count it in my mini declutter as it counts towards a more visually decluttered kitchen.April mini kitchen declutter challenge: 8 / 502025 decluttering: 3,550🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Hi all, not much decluttering done and I am awake at silly o'clock having tried but failed to get to sleep so no doubt I'll be like a wet rag tomorrow
. The bedroom recycling was emptied and I sorted the draw by putting the lining paper in, moved the t shirts and also put my gardening/decorating trousers in there so more space in the wardrobe. Put the storage box in the bottom of the wardrobe with the quilts and the scarves in. I have a few more scarves that can find their way there when I get to them
. Quick rummage in the fridge unearthed some ood salad dressing so that was dealt with and the bottle into the recycling. The weather was awful in the morning but it cleared up after lunch and I had coffee over the fence with ln. I was glad we could be outside as I still have a cold lurking and ln is going into hospital tomorrow for a cataract op so I didn't want her to catch it but I wanted to see her to check she wasn't too stressed. When OH got home the bottle of Irish cream was emptied and ln said she felt fortified
. We won't see her now until next Tuesday as she will be with her daughter but she has promised to text me to let me know she is ok
@Mrs SD I generally work on the theory that if I sleep late I must need it. If you're trying to get up earlier I think you should persevere with going to bed a bit earlier and it will eventually work. I find if I fall asleep on the couch and then head off to bed I sleep late, probably because the sleep has been broken, but if I can get to bed before I fall asleep on the couch I wake earlier but my sleep pattern has been wrecked by shift work many years ago and I have times when for no apparent reason I just flip onto a "night shift" and I am awake nearly all night. It used to happen even when I was working and I was ruled by the alarm clock.
@wishus I agree this is a lovely thread with some of the nicest most supportive people. I really look forward to catching up with everybody and best of all is the total non judgement so there is no pressure if I have had a bad decluttering day
@Vulpix your garden is lovely. I have done a bit of reading around to think about what you could do with the top garden and I will pm you with some thoughts when I have got them straight in my headIf I remember correctly didn't you find japanese knot weed up there?
I also like to have some sort of craft thing going on in the evening but I have got to have a purpose for things I make atm as otherwise I'll end up with more stuff and I have nowhere to put it.I have a friend who makes the most amazing crochet Christmas blankets but I look at them and think they would be in use for maybe 10 days and then what would I do with them
@crazy_cat_lady school holidays often lead to challenging behaviour, as I am sure you'll know, triggered by the change in routine no doubt. Do you have any access to holiday clubs that might help relieve the situation? Hang on in there only a few more days to go, hugs.
@Deni_debt-free_dreamer crochet is relaxing once you get the hang of it but it does take a bit of practice at first. I have tried to teach a couple of friends to crochet, both knitters, and they did struggle for a while but eventually got the hang of it
@mhagster I love to hear what you are decluttering, such interesting things, much more interesting than my carp
@Florenceem so busy and organised
@London_1, oh yes that makes senseI should have guessed that
@Brie personally I would use them under plants as suggested by muddy_walker if you can't bear to chuck them and get unchipped replacements. It is lovely china but I work on the theory that things are to be used and not left in the cupboard as ornaments but unfortunately that means sometimes they will get broken. If anything I have gets chipped it is removed from the 'use for food/drink' to the use for other things pile. Unless you can find a way to repair them, I think the Japanese have a tradition of repairing their china with gold which is interesting but probably more expensive than replacements
@GrannyKate sounds like a good ea who knows his job,
Sorry for the long post and I am going to try to get some sleep now. Hugs to everyone who would like one

Muddy, Thanks. I am leaning towards just clearing a part of the top garden. The length of it must be at least 1/4 mile so far too much to take on, unless I fancied a cricket pitch and bowling alley. I have had steps built up from the gravel garden, so I plan to clear from there to just past the little waterfall where the stream falls out of the wood. I noticed the other day that there is a young willow tree that has self seeded up there. I am all for putting some trees up there and already have an apple tree to put in a drier part. I have bought a second hand circular patio to put in the sunniest part. The idea was to put the apple tree in the middle and get a tree bench round it. Then I change my mind and want a fernery, and English bluebells and wild garlic, and, and, and. Mr V has no interest so I have no one to bounce ideas off. Thank you for liking my green and white garden. The gravel garden is pink and purple.
Daisy, I don't mind spending a bit on the top garden, but I do want to keep it very wild looking. There are a lot of overhanging trees from the wood so options will be limited.
Liverpool Anne,I love your posts. Luckily it was only Himalayan Balsam on the top garden. I think I am winning with it. I pull it up with the roots before it can set seed. It is spread on water courses though so it comes down the stream and will always be a problem.
I promise to cut back the garden talk now.
Brie ,I think using your lovely chipped plate under a plant is a great idea.
Granny Kate, it won'r be long till you find a buyer and then you will be moving all of a sudden. When we were looking at houses in your area some had been for sale ages but I think just being in that higher price bracket takes a while to find the right person.
Very exciting times for all you house movers.
Fizz, enjoy your last day.x
Out today, a pair of pumps. They look fine on the tops but the soles are paper thin. Also to go an unused teddy bear blanket I have had on the spare bed to cover up the fact that the duvet cover has Father Christmas on it!. Not necessary. I have washed the cat bed, it will be dropped off at the cat sanctuary tomorrow.
4 dry days forecast, off to tidy the gravel garden.
