Hi all, well storm Kathleen seemed to have arrived today, blowing a hooley and lashing rain and it is cold again. I have spent some time catching up with friends via phone, and sorting a storage box for my wardrobe. I decided I needed to put my t shirts in 2 draws, 1 for wearing out of the house and 1 for gardening/painting
. Looked in the bottom draw of my cod and there are 2 handmade quilts, a few scarves and 2 boxes of draw liners. Well they aren't doing much still in the boxes are they?
. So the plan is to put the quilts and scarves in a storage box in the bottom of the wardrobe, there is lots of space, and line the draws then move the t shirts. That's as far as I got as I took myself off to the tlc carriage with a sore throat and a headache. I think I have another cold arriving
. The awful weather continued until about 5 and it is calm now.
@Mrs SD love the daisies and the tree with the blossom. I agree £2.50 to send a letter anywhere in the world is good value.
@GrannyKate terrible service from the ea, I wonder if it would be worth your while posting a note to the vendors through the letter box to say you would like to view but the ea seems to be hopeless and see if that sorts it out for you. Otherwise I would be tempted to go into the ea and give them a telling off
@Florenceem my auntie who had arthritis had lumps on her finger joints. Well done on resisting the sale at the scrap shop
@nannywindow your Christmas dress made me smile, I have unearther a Christmas jumper also with a reindeer on it. We seem to get the funniest things to wear at christmas
@London_1 I am not sure what topknot is, can you give me a clue
Off to bed now, hugs to anybody who would like one
Take care everyone

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Tuesday is a damp miserable day - I hope 2.5 days wan’t it for the decent weather 😔 I was up very late again - I had been hoping that going to bed 1.5 hours earlier might mean I woke up earlier but no 😉 DSis had another of her two hour exercise sessions. DH did a small shop. The sun did come out for a while late afternoon. Dinner was shop bought meatballs with pasta for DSis & me whilst DH had a jalfrezi. Wudupa.

Wishus, I couldn't agree more, this is a lovely thread with lovely people and I for one am richer for it.
Florenceem I have lumps on my arthritic fingers. They don't hurt unless I bang them. My Mum has huge lumps which sometimes turn into gout.
I have given the cast iron table 2 coats of paint. It will have to go outside today as it's my cleaner's day.It could do with one more coat at least. It has been such a lot of work, the top is like a lace pattern. I hope it isn't expecting this much attention every year. Still another chair to do when Mr V brings it home from my step son's at the weekend. I am heartily sick of painting. So far 2 bird tables,a wooden bench a chair and a table. The tip of the painting iceberg. 4 sheds,a fence and the outside loo door to go. I don't like painting at the best of times but like it even less now.
I imagine you have realised that I always have a project on the go. Once the outside is ship shape I have some old pine drawers to renovate for DIL. In the evenings I always have a craft project on the go. So many ideas,so little time.
I found some Bonsai pruning scissors in my sentry box the other day. I will give them to DS. He had a bonsai tree for Christmas.
After bit by bit's news it has shocked me to want to put my house in order more than ever. To be given a diagnosis and moving straight to a hospice is beyond comprehension.
I have enjoyed the garden pics, keep em coming. When it is drier I will do some pics of the top garden. It is so big I am struggling to picture how to address it. When I call it a garden don't be fooled. It is like a field. It is in fact a disused, nature reclaimed lane.
Need to have a tidy round before my cleaner comes.

I can’t manage to get a video of the flood on. Have a picture of some of the drainage instead. This is what it was like last summer the green at the top of the wall is the top garden Vx:15

You've maybe said before vulpix, but do you know who the legal owner is? I'd be able to tell you how to go about it in Scotland but if you are elsewhere I'd imagine its similar but maybe not same. In Scotland if you openly and peaceably use land for ten years you can get title to it. I'd hate for you to smarten the land then at some point in the future someone pops up showing their legal title and you've done all the hard work for them. I know keeping the stream clear is in your own interests but anything beyond that I mean.
No end to respond publicly here, of course, if it may identify you or your area

Can see hugs are needed so hugs to all that need them
Well done to all that are making great progress on clearing homes and headspace
I am having a stressful school holidays between kitchen and son developing more challenging behaviour on top of ones we already had 😱
Oh well countdown to peace and quiet next Monday but I have a to list longer than my arm 🤣13 -
vulpix said:Thank you everyone, I don't want to bring the thread down. We both agreed yesterday that we were lucky to have met. It has been a positive experience for both of us. Well both families actually. Yesterday I went in first and Mr V went to the cafe to give us some time. When he appeared he burst in and said "anyone ordered a stripper? " Bit by bit loved that. I think she has always had a crush on him.hahaha.
I am going to carry on as usual, so !!!!!! n stitch this afternoon. I have promised to teach someone to crochet. Bed sheets need washing again! Fomo is being extra affectionate but it involved jumping all over the bed with muddy paws... again.
Laters Vx
I am learning to crochet, I believe it's very relaxing but I usually end up with a headache from concentrating!
I'd like the rain to declutter, it is so cold and grim, yesterday my bins blew across the garden as I was on a z00m call about net zero!!
I've decluttered a huge job for my self employment, which was a relief.

Thank you Daisy. According to the land registry the land is unclaimed. I don’t know if I want the legal responsibility of it. It would cost countless thousands to drain it and then there is the repair of a long dry stone wall. We have legally claimed a piece of land at the side of the house and the shed village is there plus the gravel garden.See old pics. Side of house, gravel garden and top garden vx:17
