Thanks for the info re the Acropolis I have passed it on to him
he's a canny lad, and even though a banker looks after his pennies and likes to get the best value for money ( can't imagine where he gets that from )

Thanks to @Siebrie , @London_1 and @GrannyKate ~ DH DD and I are off to Rome and then Athens in June afterthe dreaded GCSEs are finished . I know it is going to be jolly hot, but we are hoping to see all the sites that DD has be learning about in her classical civilisation lessons and before she starts the Alevel course (as long as she gets the grades!)I need to start getting an itineray together!!@ilovetea ~ I hope your taking it easy today and visiting the TLC carriageSpent over 5 hours gardening, the hooge mound of soil has very very nearly been decluttered (30 odd wheelbarrows here and there all around the garden!!) 4 small laurel plants have finally been planted (they've been waiting patiently for prob 2 years oops!) Still so much to do, but have also cleared the box branches and trunks which are not burning off the grass and will be grass seeding that area tomorrow. Its a large circle where the trampoline used to be! WOnt be doing much this evening as now quite achey!! thankfully DS2 is cooking up a curry for tea. I love that he wants to get practice cooking before he goes off to uni !!!! ANd I will miss him SO MUCH!♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

@~FlowerPot~ - your holiday sounds fun. We (late DH and I) took DGS1 to Greece for a Classical Tour when he was ten (his choice). He is currently just finishing his first year doing Classics at University. From Athens the usual stops are Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia and Delphi - all worth visiting. We also did Athens and the Corinth canal. We then relaxed for 3 days at a resort at Marathon. A couple of years ago I did a tour of Peleponnese including Sparta with all his family - a bit more remote from Athens. This year I am joining them for an island holiday in Greece - more relaxing.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

@~FlowerPot~ DD blames me entirely for his obsession with history - I have taken all the GCs to historical sites since they were toddlers - castles, stately homes, archaeological sites etc - there are often fun events which make for a nice day out.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Good evening everyone. Thank you for the kind messages.
I've been taking it easy. I've decluttered a few bits,
913-914 Rubbish and recycling out. Glad I didn't meet any of the neighbours I look a right state.
915-918 4 cross stitch mags to craft club.
919 best part of a container of blueberries. Pack was opened and I picked it up wrong :-(
920. Folded and put away some washing I did the other day.
That will do for today.
Take care.

Love the talk of Athens and Greece. Only spent a few hours in athens before getting a ferry a decade ago but been to the islands often. Hope to get to Athens late this year.
At my dad's with DB. Think we are taking far too long sorting the hiuse. 2 walking trips to cs so not alot. Came on the train after having a puncture a few weeks ago and hours on the hard shoulder. Did bring in some upholstery fabric and a jug and glasses, all a.sort of turquoise/ acqua colour. Resisted in the morning but gave in by 4.30pm.
Doing a tip run tomorrow, and have boxes of.books for the cs book shop, but will take more home another time.
Out last week 2 bobbly jumpers and dropped.off cs bag of my own and 2 pens out.
Hoping to get my dad's house on the market in June, ideally before but we will see.

Hi, almost completed the drive tidy. My neighbour came in from work and sat on the wall and regaled me with affairs of the heart woe for 2 1/2 hours. I was starving and frozen when I came in. I did manage to re pot a lot of things and throw out a few plants that just gave up over the wet winter. The pavers for the patio, about 100 of them are now in the gravel garden and a lot of last years leaves now in the green bin. I also potted up 3 more plants for the woman down the road. violets, astilbe and a geum which hates my cold wet garden.Oh gave the woe neighbour a load of plastic plant pots. result. I will have to finish the job and sweep up a bit more on Sunday when it is fine again.
It was lovely to be able to get outside, both cats hung around to help and I could hear the woodpecker being very busy.
I have been to Athens a couple of times and thinking about it that was well over 40 years ago. My friend and I island hopped, I imagine a lot has changed in 45 years in those quaint little places we visited.
Your village sale sounds such a good idea Siebrie,Good Luck with it.
