I have decluttered a roll of puff pastry and a packet of veggie burger mix into sausage rolls. Tomorrow I will declutter the creatively titled 'brisket juice' into gravy. The freezer is looking sparse. No danger of losing a box of Christmas canapés!
Hugs to everyone on the TLC carriage x16 -
Morning all. Trying to motivate myself for the promised cleaning/tidying weekend.
445 Small oven dish broke in dishwasher so binned - that's two this week but not buying replacements
446 Cartridge inks ordered as out of spares. Disappointed to find discount code not applicable for 'proper' ones only for if you buy compatible cheaper cartridges.
447 Meeting and papers decluttered
448 Two frogs from meeting above dealt with while meeting still ongoing.2025 Decluttering Campaign 739/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Hi all, haven't posted for a couple of days sorry I have been bunged up with this cold/ sinus thing that won't shift. On Thursday I did very little except lounge around reading
though I did 2 LDFPA and a small sm trip then went to the footy in the evening. Ln phoned to say her cataract op was fine, they also relieved the pressure in her eye as she also has glaucoma and she will be getting the other eye done in about 6 weeks and will them not need medication for that
Yesterday the weather was lovely so the washing machine was on overtime and 4 loads went through and everything except 2 very heavy cotton sweatshirts were dried on the line so 3 LDFPA
. I spent most of the day in the garden but the lr bin, kitchen bin and kitchen recycling were emptied. Today I am helping with a mosaic at my footy club again so I'll get my steps in
I have caught up but lots has escaped my mind
@Vulpix willow trees sound useful as it will help dry out the area but you could put some of your astilbe up there as they don't mind a bit of damp
@ilovetea hope you are recovering from your fall, hugs
@weenancyinamerica well done to the big catmaybe it will be the encouragement the housemate needs to sort out the paper piles
Loving the chat about Athens and Greece. Many years ago I travelled down to Athens on the magic bus, spent a couple of days in Athens and then headed off around the islands with a tent for a month before heading back via Athens. On the way back Athens was much busier and having very little money left I had to sleep on the roof of a small hotel for a few days while waiting for a space on the bus. My parents lived in Kent then and I got the driver to drop me off on the motorway near home and got the local bus to my parents house. I had 10p left in my purse
. Since then I have been to a few Greek islands and I have to say it is my favourite country to visit. All the islands are so different with lots of ancient things all over the place and the people are so nice and I love Greek food
@nannywindow I had the same thing when I got a new mattress and had to hunt for deep fitted sheets and larger flat sheetsbut it was worth it as the mattress is so comfortable
@Mrs SD what a nuisance to lose a post, hugs. I am not surprised you don't have the heart to redo it. Your posts are always long and I am wondering if you should think about only posting every other day and not necessarily replying to everybody. I for one don't mind if you don't want to reply to my posts / drivel and we have so many contributors now it must take you hours to do though we do appreciate all you do to help keep us going 💐
Just been watching a very cheeky squirrel in the garden
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Florencem probably come from the same company that used to supply my right arm compression sleeve for my lymphodema, they came from Germany as well. I eventually gave up wearing them as they seemed to do very little, apart from make me very hot in the summer, and were extremely hard to put on as well. Plus when I had a fall about three years ago I tore the rotor cuff in my right shoulder and the physio chap said I could have an op. but because of the lymphodema in that arm it would probably do more harm than good. So I have one arm that doesn't work as well as the other and is twice the size of the left one ,but I can live with it and my family have got used to my 'elephant arm '
Well a good bit of decluttering done this morning , my little neighbour next door and her partner are decorating the small room for the new baby, and I said I had a lot of stuff she was welcome to in the cupboard under the stairs
Out went half a dozen paint brushes and pasting brushes plus rollers and even a thin one to do the radiators. a complete roll of masking tape for keeping the paint even on the skirting boards plus a couple of electric drills two electric sanders and three bottle of paint brush cleaner and turps .
She was very pleased, as was I as it saved me carting the whole lot to the CS.
I told her she was welcome and what she didn't need to pass on to any of her friends, the cupboard under the stairs is beginning to empty out a bit.
I have almost emptied two of my kitchen food storage cupboards ,a lot of in-date tinned stuff went to the food bank along with a few odds and ends of cleaning stuff I don't need. I am trying to get the actual stuff for the move cut down as much as possible.
Feeling really happy that so much is going and it will be used and not just tipped to landfill
Beautiful day here in north Kent at the moment and I have a line of washing blowing dry on my washing line

Signs of movement from upstairs - DH is awake 😉 Just noticed that our neighbour opposite is painting her garage door & the surrounding woodwork 😊 & her DD has just mowed the lawn 🙂 Lots of mail today so I have opened everything - 0.5” of shredding done + 2 Report & Accounts books recycled - one is an inch thick 😥 I will try to cancel them again 😞 I will deal with the rest of the mail once I have finished cheerleading 😉
539 - 541 Shredding & recycling
Great decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Looking forward to garden pictures once you are moved 😊
Florenceem, a belated Happy Birthday to MrF 🎂 🥳 More excellent work at SA 👏 & fingers crossed that there wasn’t too much left for you to sort out 🤞
Excellent decluttering Soontobeoap 👏
Brie, very interesting post 😊 Hope you managed to relocate the kitchen knives safely 🙏 We have the same issues whenever we want to dispose of kitchen knives 😔 DH has had to resort to snapping them in his vise & then adding to the metals bin at the recycling centre.
Excellent decluttering Florafauna 👏 Good luck with the packing 🍀
What a lovely post London_1 😊 I remember you telling us about the Leap Year proposal 😊 & such lovely news that your neighbour has shared with you about her pregnancy 🤗 Hopefully your new neighbour/s will be just as nice 🙏
Excellent decluttering mhagster 👏 & fingers crossed that the wrapping paper will be snapped up 🤞
ilovetea 😣 - sorry to hear about the fall & the injuries 😔 Hope you recover quickly 🙏 Please follow London_1’s advice & pop into the TLC Carriage 🙏 Decluttering & tidying can wait until you are feeling better.
London_1, “hot chocolate with squirty cream and marshmallows” sounds like wonderful medicine 😊
One more page caught up 🥳 DH has filled the bird feeders after cleaning & disinfecting them yesterday 👏

DP has been out this morning running errands and come home with more kitchen cleaner. We already have 4 unopened bottles. It feels like one step forward, two steps back sometimes ("It doesn't go off!", "BUT IT'S STILL STUFF!". I mean, I didn't shout but the frustration was there). I'm of a mind to give the extraneous bottles to the food bank, if they take that sort of thing.16

I was at SA from 2.45 to 6.45 yesterday - not because of the singers - they left at 4. A volunteer had collected donations - boxes and boxes of them. We were sorting all those hours. Mr F had been to take more stuff to the charity shop and met me at SA.
I was too weary to cook so popped to chippy for chips - we had them in a baguette. Then at 8 we went back to SA to take in a food delivery.
We were both so tired last night.
Ddil had left school uniform in the porch to be labelled and the dresses - shortened.
Finished off 8 Christmas cards this morning.

@bamboo_socks
are we married to the same person?? we have 3 cupboards with cleaning stuff plus stuff in both bathrooms.
Fun declutter (though distressed OH at the time)......when prepping to go on our cruise to the far north OH unearthed his big hiking boots. They're the sort of thing someone needs for an ascent at an alp or everest or similar. Exceedingly good boots and needed when we were both avid walkers but that was almost 2 decades back now. So he gets them out, waxes, waterproofs, ensures the laces are still whole and strong and that the boots still fit with the hefty socks one wears with them. Packs them up and we're off.
So the day he wanted to wear them (expecting a lot of walking in snow etc but no mountain climbing) he does them up and stomps about a bit and then heads off to the place where the excursions start from. I was still getting ready and wondered how after so many years of storage he could still have mud on the boots as there was chunks of stuff everywhere. Catch up, and we're in file to leave the boat and his one boot heel starts flapping off! The whole thing had disintegrated and chunks of it (not mud) were dropping everywhere. Obviously he can't wear them so rushes back to the cabin to get his lesser hiking boots (one always travels with spares doesn't one(except me)). So these boots that probably cost about £150 25 or so years back are completely useless. They got binned in Flam Norway.
The only other declutter on the cruise was that I left all my old tights in a drawer, didn't bother to pack them up. I had bought some new ones (from Snags) which were great so I left the old ones as I know I'd never wear them again. I was going to bin them but I know the staff seemed to have a collection of inherited items and the women who did housekeeping all wore tights. I didn't know if any of them would want them or not but the only alternative would be to bin or bring home and take to a charity shop. They were all clean and only worn a few times (hate tights) so I thought I'd give them the option.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
