Hi all, goodish day yesterday. The sun stayed out for most of the day so I went out and had a sort out of the front garden. Lots of leaves swept up and some weeds tackled and the green waste bin was filled. Counting as 3 as I know it takes 3 bags to fill it. That has been emptied today along with the recycling bin but it is the last time I can use my bin as from April I will be sharing the green waste bin with my ln, we are trialling this for a year as the cost has gone up 25%. If we get to an overflow situation I can take it to the tip but based on the last couple of years it probably won't happen very often. The kitchen, bedroom and lr recycling were emptied and as it was still a lovely day we had coffee over the fence with ln. OH decided it was time to use up a bottle of prosecco that had been bought for our Christmas drink with ln but we were unable to use it as we had covid. I don't really drink alcohol but ln is partial to the odd tipple with OH for company
. We also managed to declutter a crystal glass along with the wine
. No drama as they are meant to be used not just to sit in the cupboard
. I also had a walk around the house picking up bits of ribbon that I will reuse. Mainly from presents received that had been left in various places. These were put together so I now know where they are when I am looking for them. After tea I did some knitting.
@Vulpix yes I understand the conumdrum about your house. Getting up and down stairs can be an issue when we get older and iirc your stairs are quite steep. The little house my niece had before going to the Caribbean had very narrow steep stairs and I did think they were not something I would like to have when I was older and in fact prompted them to do a major extention to include an upstairs bathroom as they only had one downstairs and my niece had a severe back issue for a while which made it impossible for her to get down the stairs and other arrangements had to be made until she recovered. She felt it was too much work for the people caring for her. The extention worked out brilliantly and they got an extra bedroom as well. She swore she never wanted to go through that sort of rebuild again and then moved to the Caribbean into a built but not finished house. A bungalow would seem to be the ideal but given the increasing number of floods we are experiencing I might be wary of a property with a stream but I am sure you have considered this
. Maybe you just need to wait for a while and the right decision will come to you. Moving areas is a bigger issue I always think as it takes so much more research. All those things like accessing good builders which you might need etc. Good luck with whatever you do. Perhaps you need to start a new career as an advisor for people wanting to change their living space. Kirsty seems to do quite well from it
@weenancyinamerica good book sale again. I love that this happens to help the library and I wish it was near me although the temptation to buy more books would be hard to resist. The weather is weird all over the place and unfortunately I think it's something we are going to have to adjust to as I see no real progress being made in addressing the climate change issue
@London_1 what a genius idea for tea towels. You are going great guns on sorting your house out
@Pennypincin I too have had inappropriately mugs gifted that I am too embarrassed to donate to the cs so they are still lurking in my cupboard, never used so not even a chance they will accidentally be brokenI might have to just chuck them in the garden and use the bits at the bottom of pots
@D123456789 maybe you have reached that magical place of maintenance mode
Well the sun is shining again and I might take myself into the garden for another cuppa, just to be able to sit in the sunshine is a lovely feeling after the, what feels like, long winter and miserable weather. Not sure what I will do today, the choices are numerous as there is so much
. Hugs to everyone who would like one,

Mr F took a suitcase of stuff to the charity shop in the morning yesterday. In the afternoon he had a nurse appointment for bandaging his legs - he left here later than he should have but arrived in time at the surgery. After a late lunch he went off with a trolley full of bits to the charity shop.
I had an indoors day until the evening - I did some crafting - worked on bunny bags.
Our Alpha course was cancelled due to illness of the leader.
We went to SA at 9 and took in a food delivery and sorted textile recycling.

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger I know what you mean about having DS1 here but he works stupidly long hours because of commuting and I never know which 2 individual days off he is having in any particular week. He struggles with his MH as a result of the long days and what we’re now pretty sure is ADHD. But he is going to come and help me replace some of the curtain rails – they are very old, very mucky and very brittle!
In: 7 curtain tracks, that will deal with 6 windows, plus extra supports and hooks.
Out? I was hoping to get to the tip today – I reconned the route yesterday but sadly I’m still waiting for the plumber who may or may not turn up today. But I’ve taken the opportunity to start reconciling my accounts which hasn’t been done since about May last year!
Next up will be clearing more in the kitchen as that’s the route I want the delivery people to use tomorrow. I spotted a couple of Ercol dressers in my local Salvation Army shop. I’m so looking forward to having somewhere to put my crockery and glasses, it will be the next little step forwards. 😁

Good evening.
It's been a busy few days. We swapped the table back from the conservatory as it wasn't getting used in the conservatory and DD2 was complaining she had lost her dance space. Think I've finally convinced DH that the piano needs to go! It's probably only been used twice since DD1 finished her music GCSE bur the only problem is it came past the back door, there's now a shed there that we don't think it'll fit past.
Yesterday we booked for the meters to be changed, I've only put it off a year. Told DH we would start cleaning/clearing a section at a time but have ended up doing loads today. All the ceiling was hoovered. Tops of all cupboards cleared off, hoovered then wipes. Tops of fridge and freezer, cleared, hoocered and wiped. DH wiped down all his beer bottles and put them back (these drive me insane!). Pet cupboard (meters are in this cupboard) cleared out, sorted, wiped and put back. Sorted through some of the baking cupboard. Wiped worktops and all lower cupboard doors. Windowsill cleared and hoovered round sill, window and blind.... it still doesn't look any different! But I can feel it on my shoulders and DH has been and bought himself a beer.

I've decluttered my Instagram and have been enjoying seeing accounts that had been hidden for a while.
I've also decluttered an ancient bit of parmesan - into my belly via a risotto.
I also chucked a random sample bottle of rapeseed oil that had gone rancid. Grim.19 -
Hope you're ok Mrs SD

Hi everyone,
Lots of productive posts, keep up the great work
I have been declutterring little bits here and there and have realised I have a lot of half used lotions and potions. I’ve started to use them up and enjoy them, slowly but surely.
I also have 2 bags for cs so going to make it a priority to drop them off this week

Not your average decluttering but this evening I've seen the back of 24 hours of a gale force 9 storm at sea... currently a much smoother force 6!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I'm going slightly green just thinking of that Floss 🤢
i tackled the growing piles of 'stuff' in my lounge and dining room tonight I can see the table top. At least it is now fit for a visitor tomorrow although about half has been returned upstairs out of sight and under the stairsI do have three bags for the CS, a couple of saucepans and a waffle maker for free cycle sitting in the dining room. The waffle maker was a raffle prize, too big for one and not a good idea for the diet! It has been lurking in the spare bedroom for a year so time to go
