London_1, I did see something on the news about the M25 being shut over the weekend 😱 Very impressed that you did all your unpacking immediately & set the washing machine going 👏 Great news about a potential job for your DD 🥳 Fingers crossed that her interview goes well 🤞although it does sound like they really want her 😊 Sending lots of positive vibes that all the pieces fall into place & that you will soon be in your new home 🙏
Excellent decluttering in the garage GrannyKate 👏
TC77, what a lovely compliment ☺️ Some excellent decluttering 👏 & as you have decluttered 510 items, I am awarding you your first Gold Star ⭐️ of 2024 👏
GrannyKate, sounds like the decluttering is going very well 👏 Hopefully you can get some packing boxes 🤞 & fingers crossed that the weather improves so that any outside decluttering can be dealt with quickly 🤞
Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties, especially the neutral items 👏 Having passed on 257 neutral items to your friend, you have passed the halfway mark so I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️
daisy_1571, I thoroughly enjoyed Local Hero - although I did think Burt Lancaster’s character was a bit OTT 😉
Gers, I didn’t actually notice - I automatically read it as Denis Lawson & was marvelling at how little he had changed from Local Hero to New Tricks apart from the hair colour 😉 Not ‘stupid’ at all & absolutely no need to feel guilty - especially as you haven’t used the mugs in 3 years 😊 Hopefully someone else will love them as much as your DM did🤞
2Scratters, I see you also noticed that vulpix has itchy feet 😉 Fingers crossed that the extension WILL get started & that it will be finished well before the end of the year 🤞
Wednesday2000 Well done on the menu planning & home cooking 👏 Also how great that you have found a cheaper ‘treat’ than pizza 😊 Now you have had your dream, you just need to decide when to buy your winning lottery ticket 🤔 & then you can start planning your move 🤞
Lovely to see you nannywindow 👋 Pleased to hear that you are recovering well & that DH is taking such very good care of you 😊 Nurse, chef & hairdresser all rolled into one - he is definitely a gem 💎😇
Excellent decluttering diminua 👏 & you have earned a medal 🏅 for more ‘Outs’ than ‘Ins’ 😊 If you haven’t used the plaster in 10 years it might just be time to let it go 😉
Great decluttering Florafauna 👏 Perhaps you can spend a little time in the TLC Carriage whilst you ponder the job situation 🤔
Liverpool_Anne, your decluttering Saturday was a lot better than mine 😉 Great work sorting out the drawer 👏 Hope you had a lovely St Patrick’s Day ☘️ & that you did manage to get out for your milk 🤞More great cheerleading 😊
Brie, great idea for packing boxes 👏
Only two pages behind, so I will post & have another session tomorrow.
Sleep tight 😴

Hi all, another low number decluttering day. I did get to the sm and we have enough milk to last a few days
. I picked up a few other bits and they were all put away. I was going to clear some more leaves from the front garden but it was raining by the time I got home so I did a bit of a tidy round, emptied a box of food stuff OH had ordered, supposed to be health food with low carbs, pea pasta and some sort of pasta sauce. So far we have tried the aubergine sauce and the pepper sauce. The aubergine was grey and it was like eating sludge. I said don't get that again but we have 1 packet left that will possibly go into a batch cook of something and will bulk it up but it will have to be something like curry to get some flavour. The pepper initially looked ok until we realised there was more carrot than pepper in it and this was the dominant flavour. OH really dislikes carrots and has been known to pick them out of a pastie so was unable to eat it. The one we have left is tomatoe. I can't see what they can do to ruin that but I don't have much faith in it but we shall see. The pea pasta was ok but it was very expensive for what it was. OH really needs to lose some weight, well I do as well but OH has had such conflicting advice from various medical people that we can't get to grips with it. One said orange juice for extra folic acid, the next said bananas were sugar sticks and stay away from sugar, the next said carb free, hence the pea pasta and cauliflower rice but nothing seems to help. Basically it's a thyroid problem and a dodgy knee problem preventing a lot of exercise but we are trying. I am slowly losing weight but nothing seems to be helping OH unfortunately. I realised I must be losing weight yesterday when I tried on a few shirt things I have lurking around. 1 in particular I was convinced would be heading for the cs turned out to fit me no problem. Of others 1 fits well but I am not sure I like it and some are a tadge tight but I like them so they are sitting waiting for a decision. I think the 1 I don't like will go in the cs bag and the others might be deferred for a few months to see if I lose a bit more weight. As for the rest of the day I sort of wandered around throwing various bits of carp into the bin / recycling and the bathroom bin was emptied and the kitchen recycling emptied. I watched the footy on the tv, unfortunately we lost, such is life
and after tea I just did some knitting.
@GrannyKate if you like the house you could always lift a few pavers and lay a bit of a lawn and then get some big planters for flowers but I know what you mean, I prefer a bit of green and pavers are not necessarily easy care as weeds can get into the cracks and can be the devil to get out. Good luck with it all, sounds like a complicated move.
@Mrs SD, unfortunately OH didn't clear up straight after cooking but is in the process of more cooking so it will get done as we will run out of pans. The unasked for sorting out of carp was most welcome and I am encouraging it by asking if various things can be binned
. Thank you for my medals
@Brie re rag bags in cs I think sometimes the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing
@number_23 good luck with whatever target you set yourself. Depending on how much clutter you have and how much time and energy you have 14 rooms might be doable but if like a lot of people you have a busy life and like me a lot of clutter it might not
. Looking forward to hearing about how you get on.
@Soontobeoap a lot of sentimental decluttering there. I really had to force myself to clear old cards etc. Though I still have a few from my Mum and Dad and a very lovely letter from my Dad
@EnergyShifter fingers crossed you are able to get your eye sorted quickly, hugs
@Muddy_Walker, hugs, take care of yourself first.
@dND I can completely relate to that brain loop. I find myself in the same position often. A needs to be sorted but can't because b needs to be done first and then eveything depends on a tradesman to turn up and do a job. Good luck with it all, at least you have the internet sorted so that is a win.
@Florenceem could you ask C to store the suitcases? I am sure people ask for all sorts of things that realistically you have no space to store at the SA but you have spent a lot of time and energy decluttering your house to make it safe for Mr F so you can't store it there either. Maybe a few others could be asked to help with this.
Well the sun is out and I think I will tackle the front garden before it changes it's mind. No idea what else I will do today. OH has a face to face nurse appointment and I think is going to do a bit more batch cooking so probably best I keep away from the kitchen
. Hugs to everyone who would like one
409 kitchen recycling
410 bathroom bin

Monday started as another dull, overcast day. I was up & dressed at 10:00. DH & DSis were already gone as DSis had an hospital appointment at 10:30. I have my 1st cuppa. Now 11:30 & the sun is trying to put in an appearance 😉
vulpix, sounds like once the weather is more settled you & MrV will be busy outside & getting ready for your next move 😉 Hopefully that gives you at least a couple more months in your renovated home 😊 before you start looking for your potentially forever home 😉 Some lovely cheerleading 😊 Vivaldi & Bach - sounds wonderful 😊
GrannyKate, sounds both exciting & complicated 😉 Hopefully you can persuade DS2 to start decluttering the loft rather than moving everything to a new house 🤞
Nice to see you Millie2008_2 👋 You have been busy - excellent decluttering 👏 As you had such a successful week I am awarding you a medal🏅 Looking forward to your next post 😊
Lovely post Florenceem 😊 What with doing so much sorting & decluttering at SA & so much crafting, I am surprised that you have time to do anything else 😮 Just wondering if you have time to sleep 🤔😉
daisy_1571, you are very welcome 😊
Excellent decluttering bamboo_socks 👏 Very pleased to see that OH is on board 😊
Good decluttering Brie 👏 & nice to hear that you made the lady in the CS a little happier with your suggestion of ragging the sheet 😊
number_23, it doesn’t matter which method you choose to ‘measure’ your decluttering 😉 Whatever works for you & keeps you motivated to complete your Decluttering Journey 😊 Most of us mix & match - the 24 minutes a day of tidying & decluttering can be a helpful method when there is no real inclination to do any decluttering 😅 I have made a note of your new target & am looking forward to following your journey 😊 Good luck 🍀
Excellent decluttering Soontobeoap 👏 Not only a productive day but a very busy one 🥳
EnergyShifter, lovely to hear that your time in the TLC Carriage has reinvigorated you 😊 Congratulations on your 4 day streak of 10k steps 👏 Sorry to hear about the PCO 😔 I am keeping everything crossed that an appointment for laser surgery will be arranged as soon as possible 🤞
QueenJess, very gratified to hear that your parents ‘restrained’ themselves 😮💨 Surely they can’t have too much more to declutter to you 🤞🙏More great digital decluttering 👏
Muddy_Walker, thank you for the timely reminder that mental decluttering is as important as,if not more important than, physical decluttering 👏😊
DH & DSis just got back. My concentration is flagging so I will past & set a timer for an hour before returning to the cheerleading 🙂

Nothing big happened on the outward journey from the house this weekend.
Decluttered Saturday into a day full of Rugby watching - a lovely day and a takeaway paid for by DH.
Sunday was also a day of not much progress. Nearly threw out a pair of boots from my wardrobe when moving stuff around. They had started to collect some damp mouldy marks. It simply wiped off along with the cobwebs (how long have they been in there?) and got re-polished and placed back into the wardrobe to sell in the near future as they are leather and goretex and I had them healed and soled so will last someone a good length of time. I actually threw out a pair of shoes that I really like and do go with my dresses but the lining is now peeling off. I have also moved a pair of ankle boots to go to the CS. I shredded BiL paperwork as DH has left it to me to sort it. All in the recycle bin.
Found some bathroom items in an odd place in there too as probably couldn't fit them where they should have been, now with like with like in readiness for them to do their job. A bit of breathing space now in my wardrobe hope that no more damp attacks for now. Found some items to remove from a little drawer set in there too. Bits got binned/recycled.
Off to bake a cake for DGD birthday tomorrow
Have a good week all

A bit behind, but I've added my husband's estimate of 100 items of assorted bits of rubble, rusted bric-a-brac and books that he has already moved from the cellar to the recycling centre, and a bra I chucked in the bin at the weekend!Keep reading books!

Hi everyone.
Sorry for being lax again.
Everyone seems to have been so busy, I've not been able to catch up with the post's.
It's encouraging to see how people are decluttering and doing tidying and cracking on with life.
I've managed to declutter a few small bits the week before last, and managed to declutter cutting the grass this morning.
I aim to declutter raking the garden and as much of the moss Thursday morning, weather permitting.
In the meantime I need to get on top of and keep on with the gcse maths homework, house work, declutterering and tidying.
Plus trying to get into a good routine somehow.Decluttering campaign 2023

Thank you for the flowers Mrs SD and Thank you for all you do spending so much time keeping us all motivated. I am feeling less dizzy which is very good. I have to go back to the GP in a couple of weeks. Mr V says he doesn't mind where he lives as long as it is with me. Awwwww. Today the sun is out and I am thinking to stay put! Most unlike me to dither. I think I need someone with fresh eyes to give me advice. BTW, all future painting and gardening will be me. Mr V is a city boy,he doesn't do outside. Hahahaha.
Liverpool Anne, I am in a quandary with this house. I like living here,I like the renovations, I like the area.I like the neighbours. There will be a time when I can't manage the stairs and I don't want to leave it until I am too old to face moving. It would be a lovely holiday let but we don't need the money and do I want the work? I am back and forth with it. So the sensible thing would be to wait. But the old me is sat on my shoulder telling me the bungalow would be worth 200k more with some tweaks and a spend of about 50k. There is also a faint possibility of moving down South to be near my son for child care. I should have been an estate agent, perhaps that would have scratched my property itch. Also the cats would never forgive me if I took them away from their wood. gah, I don't know. We watched the footy,it was an exciting game.
I have piles of stuff in the sitting room for different destinations. We will go out for a drive n a coffee somewhere and get some of them dropped off.
