Morning all. I think I should start boxing up some things which I want to keep - eg some framed pictures which are not on the wall but no point hanging them now. Once I move I could then rationalise what I am really going to use and get rid of the others. There is some space under the tables in my utility room/study where I could put them without them being in the way or looking awful. Plan A - get some moving boxes. DS2 is planning to box up some of his stuff in cabin. I need to work up some energy - pouring with rain yet again so glad I did the garage yesterday.2025 Decluttering Campaign 635/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Started to sort out one of the kitchen cupboards which had cooking stuff of DDs when she was still at school.
103) flour-binned (only 9 years old)
104) coloured sprinkles without the colours as they had been in the cupboard that long😳
105) small plastic tub that had seen better days -recycling
106) more plastic food tubs -recycling
107) cat water bowl - recycling (broken when I dropped one of the cat’s med bottles into it😬
108) birthday presents given out, it was a miracle, I am never on time with birthdays
109) two big bags of empty cat sachets disposed of at recycling point
Bottom of the cupboard had a wipe down and I can now store my big boxes of tea bags in there.
Neutral items- 70 basic items dropped off yesterday. It was getting impossible to store everything and these are basics the organiser can use now and not wait until Christmas.
Neutral items 187+ 70 items=257. Really pleased with this as they have all have gone to charity and the rest of the stash in DDs room, I was able to sort and store much betterDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hope you enjoyed local hero Mrs sd. My brother was at a comicon thing recently and Denis Law was there for his role in star wars. You made me have a lovely Sunday morning chuckle.I cam here to say that I've decided to 'let go' of my late DM's favourite mugs! Stupid, I know, but I bought them for her many many years ago in M&S and she wouldn't use any others. I've kept them for nearly three years but never used them, so...out to a CS asap. Not sure why I feel a tad guilty but I can't keep things because she loved them. She loved everything she owned.20

@Florenceem how nice to hear that DH is helping frequently with his diligence of taking "stuff" to the CS for you.
Oh Oh @vulpix has bit the cherry of house moving again possibility. Does this mean all the work dust has settled and been swept up and gone? It would be a very streamlined van half full of items. Would this be your absolute last move?
I'm beginning to think we actually won't get the extension started never mind completed. We have however got a roofer booked in but not able to do a new roof till July/August this yearIt gives me time to shift some visiting stuff and move other stuff out.
Workwise I am now on the redeployment register which gives me 3 months to find a job (my choice) then my employment will be terminated. I'm OK with that.
Have a good weekend all

It is pouring with rain here today. I am going to start my new book (Eat, Shop, Save by Dale Pinnock 99p on kindle at the moment) and then order my online groceries. I have been trying to cook at home and meal plan, but thought the book might have some extra tips for me.
I did give in and order pizza one night last week and we got chips from a chip shop one day, but that was because I was feeling unwell and didn't feel like cooking. We were saying afterwards that we didn't even enjoy the pizza that much although we did enjoy the chips. I think that will be a treat instead of pizza next time. Much cheaper too!
I am envious of everyone moving house as we are not in the position to be able to start the process yet as my husband hasn't found out what is happening with his job yet. It probably will be next year at the earliest.
I had a dream that we won the lottery and moved back to London! I did realise today that I had £2 in the lottery account and £17 in my Topcashback account so that was a nice little boost of money. I would have preferred a big lottery win, but I will take it!

Hello all, I've been missing but I do have an excuse. I've had my op and I am now home and being looked after by DH. The nurse is coming in every day and all seems to be going ok. DH has just learnt a new skill as my hairdresser, move over Vidal Sassoon ( or maybe it's Sweeney Todd! ) He has been looking after me very well and is making a corned beef pie for tea so I shall be the size of a house by the time I get back on my feet ! Think I'll keep him, he's been a gem.
Not much decluttering has been done except for the packaging from a parcel and a pair of DH's old worn out slippers. I have my mother's day card and a get well card ready for the recycling too but it's bucketing down so they're waiting to go when it stops raining. I have also decluttered part of my body, does that count?
I'm loving all the photos, it shows that the decluttering works, so keep up the good work everyone. Don't forget that even the tortoise gets there in the end.

Things are still going out faster than they're coming in here, so that's a win. I'm still a bit shocked how fast stuff comes in - one of my aunts had a heap of unopened make-up that she offered my cousin and me and although I did think 'should I?' I did take some gold coloured bits that I might use in the summer. I also got a second hand blouse with broderie anglaise, much nicer than the one I bought last year, so will let last years go.
Outs include - a bedspread my aunt (a different aunt) made me years ago. I kept thinking I could salvage it but the material really was too worn through, a melted sodastream bottle (washing up water too hot), more books read and put in the bookswap and a mouse trap found under the sink when I cleared it out for the water meter man. He was in and out in five minutes as it's obvious I can't have a meter - there's no way to isolate my water from the rest of the floor. They just needed to check so they can put me on the lower tariff.
Can't make up my mind whether to throw out the bag of plaster I found there as well - am I really likely to make something with it or will it just sit for another decade?Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 17.5 coupons remaining

Not looking forward to work tomorrow, the way I am feeling right now I may end up decluttering my job. Trying to let the world turn a little on that though, deep breaths and all that16 -
Hi all, happy St Patrick's day, a big day in this part of the country, town will be heaving
. A slow decluttering day here yesterday. The draw was sorted and all that is in there is bras and swimming costumes. I have a few swimming costumes as I used to swim a lot both with the children in work and with OH and there is nothing worse than trying to put on a wet cossy
. I still have a couple to try on as it's exhausting climbing in and out of them
. 1 bra has hit the bin as the metal clips have bent and it's really difficult to do up. I did 1 LDFPA as I got a load line dried for the first time this year
and 1 item into the cs bag, a tie dyed cowl/ headband thing I had worn for a 60s fancy dress. 2 more loads of washing are on the maiden but that's all I did apart from some reading.
Today I need to get some garden waste into the bin but I also need to pop to the shop for milk and there is footy on the tv today so I am not expecting a lot to be done.
@daisy_1571 thanks for the video. Firstly it blew my mind a bit that she had 13 children and looked so youngbut I do admire her for being able to train them so well, I can't even train OH
. She did mention towels but I wonder how she deals with sheets and quilt covers but as she uses a td my vision of lines and lines of bedding probably doesn't happen
though her electricity bills must be massive. I have no problems with not ironing but using the td does help with that and the older children probably know how to iron things that might need it and do it for themselves
@Vulpix well done on just leaving your brother's stuff, just what I would have done. Hope you enjoyed the concert
. Are you thinking of moving because you have done all your projects at this house and need a project? Or is it because so many are on the move in this thread and it's given you itchy feet
I thought you were going to use this house as a holiday let, is that still an option?
@Soontobeoap well done on all the sorting, I had to do a similar thing when I had a moth attack and to be honest I am still recovering from it as everything had to be washed asap to prevent further damage and although I lost a lovely cashmere cardigan I did save just about everything else but occasionally come across a small hole that needs sorting. Luckily they didn't affect things like photos.
@Florenceem after all the work you did last year it's hard to believe you are still finding things to declutter, glad to see Mr F is still getting around and helping
@bamboo_socks, sorry I didn't explain myself very well, I meant decant into little pump action bottles, these can be easier for little ones to use rather than trying to open a bottle and pour just the right amount. I find things last longer as there is less waste
@London_1 great news about dd's potential job, everything crossed for her
@Gers it took me years to process my Mum's stuff and I think I still have a few bits in the loft but don't feel guilty, you have the memories of your dm and you don't need things to remember her. If it feels like the right time to let them go then it's right, hugs.
@2Scratters good luck with the job search
@diminua re the plaster I think it can go off if left too long but no idea how too long is
Right time to stop faffing around and get to the shop or I won't have enough milk for the next cuppa. Hugs to everyone who would like one
