The house in SYLO was so cluttered. I cannot believe how much stuff they had. It looked fab afterwards, especially the kitchen/bar area! It was a very nice house.
I feel much better today. I had another great sleep with my new pillow and I only have two days of antibiotics after today. I have been trying to do small sections of my house while I am indoors so much. I sorted out my "pantry" last night and realised how much pasta and noodles I have. I need to start using them up making meals, pasta bakes, Asian style noodles etc...
I did have a list to take to Superdrug to stock up on toiletries when I feel better, but going through my skin care means the list was decimated and I only needed to buy us new toothbrushes. I have lots of things that I can use at home already. I am using a Weleda body lotion instead of buying a new eye cream. I did like that eye cream as the jar is very small and I take it whenever I'm going to stay away for the night. I thought I will just use it up and then clean the jar and I can just put in whatever mosituriser I'm using to take with me. I am using another body lotion in place of buying shaving gel. I did "need" to buy deodorant, but then I remembered I bought an eco reusable one that I haven't even tried yet.
I put two sweatshirts into my nightwear drawer instead of buying more tops too.
My husband had his meeting cancelled today, but he is still going to pick up my library book so I said he might as well drop off another bag to the charity shop on the way. I have put a cup in the donation bag and he has added a gilet and two jumpers. I have added two thermal tops that I find too tight and uncomfortable. I'm going to look around again.

Hi all, not much decluttering done yesterday, grabbed a bag from the room of doom and sorted through that. 3 spare hairbrushes found so they were washed, 1 found to have a broken handle so binned, another body lotion put aside for ln but I didn't see her as the weather was too wet so hopefully I will catch her today. A bag of shells that have been put into the garden, I like to put them on the top of the soil in my pots, just look nice
The rest of the stuff was put away or binned and I now have an empty cloth bag. The bedroom bin was emptied. I did whizz around the house throwing various bits in the bin / recycling but very random. 3 loads of washing were put through the machine but zero chance of it drying on the line so arranged on the maiden.
Today I have to go to the sm for a few bits but that is as far as I have planned
@London_1 great news on the house and I am very impressed with the speed of your decision. It took me many house viewings and then several thinking days when I found this house to decide to put in an offer. I knew as soon as I walked in it was the best I had seen despite the work it needed doing, I could see past the 70s wallpaper and grotty carpets as the house was empty and had been for a while, it felt right but I still dithered making an offer. I have lived here for about 35 years now having bought out ex h when we divorced and honestly can't imagine living anywhere else. The last owner bought it new and lived all the rest of her life here so it must be one of those houses that makes itself feel like home
Good luck with the paperwork and move, it must be very exciting to have a dream turn into reality so quickly
@Moorviews I think my days of queuing in the rain have gone, I used to do it regularly but luckily it has all gone digital now though sometimes I miss all the chat and banter while standing in the queue
Ok off to the sm after another cuppa so I had better get weaving, hopefully more will get done today than yesterday
. Hugs to everyone who would like one

Wednesday is dry at the moment although it does look like it will rain any moment 😔 No rain forecast but…… I was up at 08:10 but am in my dressing gown whilst I have my first cuppa. I have put a new black bag in the wheelie bin. Forgot to mention that whilst DH was putting up the shelving units he did a bit of decluttering

Deni_debt-free_dreamer, hoping RL is less stressful now 🙏 What a lovely Mothers Day - HM afternoon tea with enough leftover to celebrate on Monday as well 😊 Excellent decluttering to the Tip 👏 There was such a lot that I am awarding you a medal🏅
Florenceem, pleased to hear that you had a couple of quiet & less busy days at SA, so that you had some time to craft 😊
oceanspirit, well done on getting so much of ‘Operation Kitchen Clean’ done on Friday & Saturday 👏 although it does sound like you overdid it ‘wagging finger emoji’ Excellent negotiating skills persuading OH to continue dealing with the current project & frogs - a medal 🏅 is on its way. Also great news that OH is now helping you to deal with frogs 😊 Good luck 🍀
Absolutely brilliant news London_1 🥳😊 I imagine it was quite nerve-wracking for DD waiting for your verdict 😉 So very pleased for the 3 of you 😁
GrannyKate, I have everything crossed that your house is sold quickly & that you are as successful as London_1 in finding your forever home🤞Great decluttering 👏 & wishing you continued in identifying more ‘stuff’ to leave 😊
TC77, sounds like you have got itchy feet with so many of our fellow declutterati moving to pastures new 😉 Thank you for the lovely compliment 😊
London_1, lovely post 😊 I am just so pleased for you that everything has come together so well 🥹 Hope you enjoy the rest of your break on the IoW 😊
Muddy_Walker, well done on stepping out of your comfort zone at work 👏 Everything crossed that today’s PIP Assessment goes well & has a successful outcome 🤞🍀
Excellent decluttering ilovetea, especially posting so many parcels 👏
Nice to see you zoomtothemoon 👋………. 🤔 I think you are being a bit harsh on yourself 🤔 A beautiful piece of crafting rather contradicts your comment “I’m not that crafty….” 😊 Your DD must be so pleased 😌
Moorviews, two lovely posts 😊 Great cheerleading 👏
florianatwobob, that did make me smile “it was delicious (so much cake I couldn’t finish it all and that’s a rare event) and it was very peaceful. Well earned after ‘capturing’ Knaresborough castle! 😊
Wednesday2000, DSis & I were initially wondering why the family were on SYLO 😉 as apart from the converted garage there was a lot of clear floor & clear surfaces 🤔 Then of course Stacey & team started opening cupboards etc & the horror struck 😱 We couldn’t believe the amount of storage they had & enough Tupperware to start a business 😧 The team did a marvellous job & I did like Stacey’s ideas to use a sari in the bedroom & bangles as napkin rings 👏
Very pleased to hear that you are getting better Wednesday 😊 & it seems that your enforced confinement indoors has resulted in some excellent reallocation of items 👏🥳 So not only have you tidied up various sections of your house but you have saved money - win win 😊 I am very impressed that you are getting so much done even whilst being unwell, so I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️
Excellent decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 & well done on completely emptying a bag from the room of doom 🥳 I usually end up with just sorting a large bag of stuff into a smaller bag of stuff 😉 Lovely cheerleading (as usual) & thank you so much for sharing the story of your home 😊 The house DH & I are in was only bought to be close to the intended new location of our employer 😉 (we would have been able to walk to work) who then changed their minds about relocating 😔 Having said that we have enjoyed living here - close to lots of public transport, a surprisingly quiet location & great neighbours (apart from one) 😊
All caught up, so will post & then make another cuppa & wake DH 😉 & it is still dry 🥳

Work is utterly crazy at the moment. I'm trying to save the day as it's the kind of thing I'm used to, but also I've only been there 5 mins so is a quick way to hopefully confirm they made the right choice hiring me. As a consequence I've not done much decluttering, although things are still being used up, so going in the right direction. I continue to ponder the under stairs cupboard whenever I have a moment and am considering buying a load of hooks to hang up in there and keep things tidy.Got to pick up DS now, but will come back and box up a huge amount of charity stuff as the box is overflowing. Means it can leave the house and it'll be out the way.Digital:

Evening, Moorfields I can't imagine ever actually move. I'm in paralysis re decluttering now and working v.long hours in advance of having time.off. dd1 popped round after dentist and said the place was overwhelming or similar words. I just look at say my several coffee pots and like them equally so can't get rid of anything!
Anyone had professional help? I just couldn't pay for someone to stand there while I go I don't know, I need to keep it!!14 -
I don't think I'll declutter much over the next few days. DS is off nursery and I'm meant to be working. We also have a fairly busy weekend.
Nice reading everyone's progress and following the chat. I also have a candle making set I want to declutter through using! Hopefully DS who is three might enjoy it too.
I managed to watch episode 2 of SYLO recently. Haven't watched the latest one yet.15 -
Hello everyone, the house purchase is moving apace and we are in a short chain of three. Went swimming in Swimsuit 3 today, it was perfect and I didn't get stuck in it this time 😂
Have decluttered some tupperware lids today and some very old yoghurt that had turned to strange cheese in the fridge. Have had no cake today for the first time in a fortnight and the sugar decluttering is making my head ache
More knitting here and resting up ready for the craziness of the school disco tomorrow night. They are all very excited 😁16
