GrannyKate said:Great news JackieO @London_1 - hope I am lucky and find somewhere. Sale board up when I got home this afternoon. A bit emotional really as 25 years is a long time and it was meant to be our forever retirement home but that wasn't to be. Too big for me and cut off from most activities I do and school runs need a car. I want to be less reliant on the car moving forwards. Complained about GHIC card not arriving and it turned up the next day having been in post two weeks.
I am trying to look at things round the house from the perspective of how much will fit into less furniture. Meeting in the morning so will check papers - think I will take laptop then I needn't print them out.I moved in my house in 1995 when my late OH and I retired, and never thought about moving really, but life changes, and the seven grandchildren have all grown and flown, and both my youngest DD and her OH and I want a quieter life now with for them both a better work/life balance after raising 5 children.
My eldest DD's not too keen ,but as her eldest son lives in New York its possible she and her OH may move there at some point, and the IoW is only 100 miles away not 3000K . She will adapt and see its a good move for us all eventually I expect .
I too am so pleased and sitting here at the moment with my DD and son-in-law we are all a bit shocked that we all fell in love with it. But Tess was really good bless her, and din't influence either of us, in fact we never said until she too came in for a look what we thought and she had a huge smile when we both looked at her and said YES we love it .
So good luck to all who are thinking of or are in the process of moving .it is a big step but once you decide then its just about finding the right place that suits and like us 'ticks all the boxes'
Good luck to you all in your searches ,there is a place that you will know when you see it

Gaaaaaaahhhhh! It’s only Tuesday and I feel wrung out. Work has been wierd - am doing something I don’t normally do with people who are very blunt and I am well out of my comfort zone. Still, I volunteered so brownie points to me even though I don’t really know what I’m doing 🤣🤣🤣
PIP assessment tomorrow and have gone through everything plus possible questions. hubby will be with me so that will help.
Car booked in for service and MOT - yay for savings! It feels like all the expensive stuff has come at once - Crufts/car/new trainers which were desperately needed/Mother’s Day/dog bits….. I hate spending money even more when it’s for me……the years of penny pinching do have an effect.
Dogs are snoring away on top of my legs so will have to move them before my legs go numb.
hope tomorrow is good for everyone xxx⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

London 1 congratulations.
Another wet day again. Woken up at 7 by the cat using me as a climbing frame! Luckily she didn't have her claws out.
Went to the post office between the showers.

Hi all,
hope everyone doing well, sorry I haven’t been as active as I would have liked on the forum
I have completed my wall hanging for DDs room which has used up a good amount of thread so the remainder could fit neatly in my sewing box. I’m not that crafty but do enjoy it. I have also made candles from a kit I bought ages ago and decluttered a paint by numbers kit as some of the paints had completely dried up and couldn’t be used.48/366 - magazines to recycling and still need to get clothes and books to cs but moving in the right direction23 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Still hasn’t stopped raining 🌧️ I have belatedly completed as much of a Frog as possible 😉 - have written all the appropriate birthday cards I have & now have a revised list for cards I need to buy 🥳 As DH didn’t go out, I requested that he start his office tidying & decluttering 😉 He has finally put up his shelving units - completely against a true decluttering ethos as he now has storage but no idea what is going in it 🤔 The rain eventually stopped about 15:30 so DH popped out to Wickes & B&Q to pick up a bathroom brochure & some wall brackets to make sure shelving units are firmly in place 👏 Meanwhile I dealt with another frog - all my old & current paperwork. I thinned out all the folders + created new folders. This resulted in
376 - 384 Three booklets, 5 leaflets, 1” paperwork - recycled
385 - One inch shredding for worm bedding
Dinner was chicken burgers (DSis), burgers (DH & me) with oven chips & baked beans. DSis did the wudupa.
386 - 387 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
388 Kitchen detritus binned
florianatwobob, what a glorious view + afternoon tea looks delicious 🤤 that is what I call decluttering 😊
Excellent work Crazycatlady2 👏 Fingers crossed that you get the kitchen emptied tomorrow 🤞
Just seen the time so am off to bed 🙊 & will catch up with the cheerleading tomorrow 🙂

That's such fabulous news JackieO, after so many years of planning it's now about looking forward. And in a perfect home too. Good luck for smooth happenings at both ends.18

Congratulations @London_1 on finding your new home! Hopefully your eldest DD can enjoy coming down for the weekend sometimes.
Good luck with the PIP assessment @Muddy_Walker, I hope it all goes well.
@GrannyKate and @TC77 - we know that we will have to leave here in the coming years as it won’t be suitable for us. It is hard to contemplate after so many years in our home. It’s one of the reasons that we are trying to get through the backlog of stuff that has built up. I hope that you can find places that you would like to move to.15 -
@zoomtothemoon - what a beautiful wall hanging and great use of your threads 👏
@number23 - welcome aboard! It sounds like you have made a great start already 😊
@florianatwobob - what a beautiful view and a lovely tranquil spot to have a delicious treat!
@Liverpool_Anne - I hope that you are starting to feel better now. Initially, I missed that you said that the queue was online and envisaged you wrapped in scarf, hat and coat waiting in the rain, only to miss out on a ticket. I was relieved that you were at least warm and dry but I am sorry that you missed out.I forgot to say that I am enduring one of the seasons unspecified lurgies and therefore not getting much done. Also, the rain has been unbelievable and I am fed up of it hampering efforts to get the garden ready. Thank goodness for cake!16 -
