A corner in the TCL carriage has been set up for you nanny and feel free to unburden as much as you need to.I had a bad night sleep last night my brain was working overtime like a hamster in a wheel 🐹 so it was a lazy declutter session after a 😴 tonight, a pile of paperwork and the shredder I retire in less than 3 months so why do I still have wage slips from a job I left over 10 years ago and did I need every P60 since 1988?Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin22

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Well that didn’t go very well 😔 Tuesday night I stayed up so as not to miss the 2nd attempt at delivery of a parcel today. I was successful - it arrived at 11:30 🙂 Dry chilly day. Decided to have a cuppa & then head out for a small shop. Sadly fell asleep halfway through the drink & was only woken by the phone ringing - DH reporting in at 16:30. It had been raining & very cold all day 😔 Apparently no one’s enthusiasm has been dampened (although DSis has discovered that she forgot to pack several of her warm tops & that the short wellie type boots she took are worse than useless 😔) Good job I gave her a long sleeved silk vest & she was wearing a fleece when they left 😮💨 They are moored up in Aqueduct marina for the night - which supposedly has a laundry ………. yes you’ve guessed, just the one washing machine & one dryer 😣 G & E are sorting the laundry & DH & DSis are looking after the dogs. Fingers crossed that they have a dry day tomorrow 🤞It sounds like everyone might be having an early night - just to get warm 😉 DH appears OK as he has his RAF foul weather jacket, warm clothing, woolly hat, gloves & waterproof boots 🥾 DH will phone again tomorrow.
Fell asleep again for another hour then had Bolognaise Sauce with 2 flatbread type garlic slices (from the freezer). Currently watching My Best Friend’s Wedding - a bit of froth & a great character played by Rupert Everett. Just seen an email from DH - washing all done, cold supper & everyone in bed before 22:00 as they are knackered. They are 18 miles from the car, so have definitely been enjoying the journey 😉 Tomorrow will be their last day of moving away from the car & they will start journeying back on Friday.
Nodded off again so am off to bed.

Once again I am struggling to keep up with the speed of the EDT. It dawned on me just now that I'm feeling the same way about 2024, I literally don't feel I've landed yet! I'm out of routine, the weeks feel like they are whizzing past and I'm just being swept along! I think it's a combo of winter-tiredness, finishing off building work, studies and actual work. Work has been quiet this week which although not ideal for finances (self-employed), was much needed and hopefully will mean I won't be wiped out when I'm off tomorrow - it'll be 1st March and definitely time for a re-set.
Tasks:
0In (running total 37)
0
Out (running total 64)
65. Stool - left outside the house - its metal so hopefully will go
66. Book
Healing wishes to everyone who needs them. 💐 Nannywindow - that sounds like a really challenging day at the hospital 🤗
Empathy for all those dealing with building work 🤗
Congratulations on new job Queen Jess 🎉

Hi all, the roofers arrived at 10.10 unloaded some ladders and left again leaving 1 guy to do the work. I made him a coffee and he cracked on. I popped out about 11.20 to go to the sm, bank and pharmacy. I got the cash out to pay the roofers when the job is finished and collected my B12 meds. Appointment for that on Saturday. When I got back the roofer had gone off somewhere and returned about 2. Then about 3.30 he questioned me about the colour of the sofits. I had no idea what he was talking about
. It's the bit under the facias apparently
. He said he had just had a phone call from the boss who had only just told him I had said black or brown, no white as I have no white anywhere on the outside of the house. So he had to go off and change what he had been to collect. They had put the ladders up over the fence so it was footed against ln house, she was quite happy for them to do that but she phoned me at 4.15 to ask if she could lock the gate. I said I thought he was coming back. At 5.15 I went out to check, no sign of him but his tools were still there, the ladders were still up so I locked ln's gate but left ours unlocked so if he did come back he could get in. At 6 I went off to the footy and by the time I got home it was too dark to see what was going on so I am up but not dressed yet ready for their return today.
Apart from all that I cleaned the bathroom yesterday and got another 2 loads of washing through the machine.
I realised late yesterday that I have the wrong day for the funeral next week, it is Thursday not Wednesday. After a discussion with OH we had decided to go and to go the night before. OH had spent a while rearranging pupils to get Wednesday free and now has to change it all again. OH is not happy, however in my defence I said the right date just got confused on the calender with the month and OH also has a calender.
Right better get dressed, hugs to anybody who would like one.
316 meds collected
Take care everyone

I haven't stopped by in an age and the thread has galloped on - 604 replies! I'm afraid I won't be able to catch up on all that but sending lots of love, cake and woolly blankets to anyone that needs a bit of TLC.
Here, the cluttering has slowed down a bit as the inside is about as good as it's going to get. I have a laundry basket of Stuff to list online which I plan to tackle in my annual leave. I've been doing little bits as I go - for example there was a birthday at the weekend so I decluttered the candle box of the half burnt and broken candles.
I might use today to go through the 'birthday box' - so many rolls of paper and part used party bag collections.17 -
I don't know when to swallow a frog or hit when the time is right! My eternal problem! We always have our family vacation at Easter, because husband spends his summers in his native country. This year we are going to Athens and last week I saw tickets for just €188 each, return. It took some time to get my head around actually booking, and asking the correct days off, etc, and now the cheapest tickets are € 291
Just 1 small suitcase each on board, no reserved seats, etc. The frog is now swallowed, and we will go, but why can't I just do it when I see it? Why the eternal 'let me think about this'? and 'oh dear, that's too much information I'm not sure, is there anything better out there, let's do my research,.....'.
On a positive note: the old dishwasher is gone and the pruned wood is out for collection today.I had a long phonecall with Mum yesterday: she has hired someone to do her admin for her. It's just to do the tax forms after Dad's passing, and to put all letters and documents in the right order and decide what can go. She's paying him €300 for this job, as a one-off, and then she can maintain it, and I can keep an eye on it. I'm too far away to help at this level, and Mum doesn't trust my sister. And Mum doesn't want me to spend all my time visiting doing her admin; she much prefers to chat, go shopping, visit a museum, go sightseeing, etc.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5918 -
Hi, I am the total opposite Siebrie. Instant decisions and no looking back.Make my bed and lie in it! Case in point, first time I laid eyes on Mr V I thought, he'll do !!!!!
Spent a few hours at Mum's house yesterday then took about 6 boxes of stuff to her to sort through. Some things listed on thrift to cut out the chaperoning to and from Mum. Made a request for newspaper for wrapping and a lady brought some round last night. A box of sorted by Mum brought back here and I sorted it. A small amount for the bin, best stuff for my usual chazzer, bags of wool to the hospice shop as they have a craft section and a banana box of stuff to the cat sanctuary for their Easter car boot sale. Empty boxes and newspapers taken to Mum's and then it was now. Someone coming later to collect a very large picture frame. Other stuff listed already gone. The vast majority of ornaments now emptied out. A very large piece of furniture to empty which contains books and family tree stuff and goodness knows what, left to empty. Perhaps another couple of visits would empty the room. Furniture would still be there. When everything else has gone I will get a house clearance person in for the furniture. I told Mum we were busy so wouldn't be doing any more for a few weeks. We are not busy ,I am just put out that my brother and nephew were still swanning about in dressingowns at 4pm yesterday and watched us struggle up the steps with heavy boxes.
I added some of my wool too for the Hospice shop. I also sent a new crochet blanket for the cat sanctuary car boot sale. In the Sally army bin at Tescs a cardigan. bought from the chazzer ages ago, tried it on the other day, nope, off it goes.
I brought a corner watnot home which had been in the bathroom and had a slight water stain. I gave it several coats of the left over farrow and ball paint last night. Need to drop that off at a chazzer later.
We are going out as we need passport photo's for our identification to be a casualty for first aid practise.
Will update my numbers another time. Vx:18 -
I have been rearranging things today. I have another donation bag to take tomorrow. I put in all my paper books, all 4 of them! I used to have hundreds of books at one point. I also put in 3 dresses and a jumper. It was a Zara jumper, but the fit looks wrong on me.
I think it was seeing my friends at the weekend that cemented in my mind that I am moving house fairly soon so I am just going to look at items and think can I be bothered to move them or should I just get rid now?2025 GOALS

Oops - confusion over 2 different potential buyers wanting the last 3 bits of oak counter. One is planning on coming in half an hour, the other in 3 hours. I guess if the first is difficult I can just say no and hope the second shows up.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
