Glad they're all enjoying the boat trip Mrs SD. It's something I'd like to do when it's warmer now the children are older.
Unfortunately I think dog 1 only has a very short while left with us. We thought we had lost him at the end of last year then he picked up a little. Over the weekend he's not been eating great and has a dodgy tummy today so not looking good. We're hoping that's just what it is, an upset tummy but if it doesn't settle we'll get him checked over. He was 13 on Sunday so an old dog for a lab. Sorry, probably should have just wrote that he's fine as I then ho into way more detail than you needed.
Today I did a quick tidy through the living room and DH reported some plants in to bigger pots. Then I sorted through the hair box from the bathroom I'd put on the landing yesterday. Lots out that the girls won't use. There's also a pile of headbands (17 i think) and large hair bows that I'll put on free site if dd1 doesn't want them.
DD1 also mentioned earlier getting some play dough cutters for DGD and I told her not to. I've found out the huge bag of cookie cutters we had for play dough and she can have them tomorrow... now do I count every cutter individually.... 🤣😆
5 hairbrush
25 hair bobbles
OOD hair gel
5 hair clips
4x Empty bobble holders
2 elasticated headbands- crunched when stretched
Heart shaped bun thing- never managed a heart shape

Hi folks, have mainly decluttered money today again at the dentist. Two fillings and an impression made for a new bite guard. Also painkillers have been decluttered as my mouth is really sore. Carpets went down today, estate agent photos being done Thursday so there will be final cleaning and decluttering done tomorrow after work.
Going for lido swim Thursday and Friday. New costume sadly not a success and is being returned for full refund as is not fit for purpose. But happily swimming hat is great and fits my big head and hair brilliantly19 -

@Floss Thank you, most of the boxes are well past it but I might try the paper if the charity shops don’t want it.
@Muddy_Walker I expected daffs in my new garden but I have only found 1. I do have a large bowl of tete a tete but they’re not in flower yet.
@-taff I’ve not come across Star Bars – I’ll have to look out for them now.
@vulpix Thank you and wishing you and Mr V the best of outcomes too.
@ilovetea I love the two of them but Gino, the ginger, is a terror. He’s only 18 months and definitely a tearaway, Jewel is 16 and far more a lady.
@EnergyShifter Thank you, the cats are in complete agreement with you.😺
@Liverpool_Anne So much to do here and yes I was itching to do something although I couldn’t concentrate enough to do much of the crochet I had to hand. I do hope you’re feeling better soon.
@Dfw38 Thank you. The other main room has a plate rack and I just know that Gino will get onto it. I’ve been round all the piled up boxes and done my best to make them stable and cat-proof.
@TC77 It shocked me just how much I had even after leaving about half of it in France! Now I have to get this lot into order, partly for myself and partly for my children; a bit of Swedish death cleaning. I’m contemplating another blog – I had one for a few years in France as an online diary for me. I’ll make my decision once I get broadband, hopefully on Friday.
@Brie There’s no way I can let them out. They’ve both lived in the middle of a field and know nothing of dogs, people, other cats and definitely nothing about traffic. It was around half a mile to the nearest road and even that wasn’t that busy. I’m going to have to spoil them rotten indoors and hopefully by the end of the year I’ll have constructed a catio so they can get some fresh air.
@Wednesday2000 Thank you.
@QueenJess 🤣🤣
@GrannyKate They can’t make their minds up as to whether they prefer the empty boxes or the windowsills. Good luck with your house sale.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger Thank you and yes it’s like a childhood Christmas at the moment. Nowhere to store anything but sorting that is part of the fun. Thank you for the reminder to visit the TLC carriage although hopefully after tomorrow I will sleep better as my new bed is arriving tomorrow. I hope you’re back to well as soon as possible.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks + a weekly Jettison Junk in January
2. Sort out sleep patterns - target bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 9:00 a.m
3. Deal with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Apologies for being back so late 😔 Dinner was the rest of the pulled venison (but added a glug of red wine & some redcurrant jelly as it had been a bit dry), mashed sweet potato & green beans 🤤 Knitted whilst watching a few TV programmes then wudupa.

Liverpool_Anne, how annoying that the roofers didn’t turn up until so late 😠 Why they couldn’t have phoned you & let you get on with your day I am at a loss to understand 😞 Hopefully they will be on time Wednesday & will redeem themselves🤞Keeping everything crossed that you get your B12 jab soon 🤞 as I seem to remember that it takes a couple of days before the full effects kick in 🤨 I think vulpix has the right idea that you should forego the funeral especially as it sounds like OH wouldn’t be accompanying you to share the driving 😔 Some great decluttering especially of laundry 👏 Great cheerleading in the 2nd half of your post 😊
vulpix, thank goodness for St Rachael 👏 she seems to be the only one who manages to be organised 😊😇 Great work on the painting 👏 & good luck to MrV with his new listing 🍀
Excellent decluttering tibawo 👏 Hope it works out with the recycling bin 🤞
Congratulations on decluttering your job QueenJess 🥳 🍷 💐 Excellent digital decluttering - your next award is in sight 👏
Excellent decluttering Dfw38 & well done on completing 2 important frogs 👏 I see that you have delayed your trip to the IoW - I take it that dsis was whinging too much so you & DBro decided that it wasn’t worth the hassle 😔 Not sure I could live with pink either 😉
TC77, remember the more you declutter the fewer boxes you will have when you move 😊 Just remember that you are doing a great job with your decluttering👏
Brie, fingers crossed that the remaining counter wood will soon be on its way to a new home 🤞 This “But what happens when they're allowed out? Will they be learning Welsh? Or will they just sit on a handy wall and comment on the passing felines to each other in French?? "C'est bonne?" "Non, elle est trop moelleuse!!" had me crying with laughter 😹 To continue in the same vein, I am sure that I read somewhere that cats meow with an accent depending on where they were brought up 😅 Which sets me to wondering if their accent changes when they move 🤔 😹
Wednesday2000, I hope the cold bypasses you completely 🤞Good luck with the sale of the TS ticket 🍀
QueenJess, “Personally I would rearrange the boxes into the shape of a couple of sofas and a table, but maybe that’s just me… 😂” you are determined that I will laugh so hard that I fall off my sofa 🤣
GrannyKate, good luck deciding on your EA 🍀 If the valuations are all the same, is there one EA that you got on with particularly well? Never thought of dND’s cats staking their claim to the empty boxes 😉 Excellent decluttering 👏
Thanks for the information pleasedelete 👏
Muddy_Walker, well done on dealing with 2 big frogs 👏 I think that you should count these towards your decluttering numbers - perhaps 1 for every 15 minutes spent dealing with the frogs 😊 Fingers crossed that you do get your ‘bonus’ 🤞& good luck with the book 🍀
Nice to see pixtotts 👋 Excellent decluttering 👏 The good news about the hob is that I am making sure that it stays clean - wiping up spills as they occur & giving it a proper wipe down every night 🙂 How exciting - a new kitten 😊 I am hoping that you will post a photo 🙏
Dfw38, please make sure that at least 75% of your future ‘quiet time’ is devoted to TLC 🙏 Good luck with sorting your clothes 🍀 & hopefully you managed to ‘persuade’ DH to sort his clothes as well 🤞
Wednesday2000, I have vague memories of watching Murder One when it first aired 😊 I loved both Daniel Benzali & Stanley Tucci - both great actors & their characters were absolutely superb 🥳 I think that SYLO was replaced by football or something 😔
tibawo, perhaps you should have swapped the blue bin back 😉
charlies_tribe, so sorry to hear about dog 1 😢 Such a difficult time 😔 Excellent decluttering 👏 & yes I would count each cookie cutter individually 😊 I need to apologise for the delay in awarding your first Gold Star ⭐️ (which should have been awarded when you reached 506/2024 🙊)
Florafauna, sorry to hear about the painful mouth 😔 Fingers crossed the painkillers work quickly 🤞Shame about the new costume 😔 but great news that the hat is a success 😊
ilovetea, I must confess to being rather remiss in following my list of three 🙊 but I fully intend to get back into the habit 🙂 Excellent decluttering especially the sale items 👏
Lovely post dND 😊 Really looking forward to following your journey to a cosy home 😊
All caught up 🥳 I do realise it is late but not feeling sleepy at all 😔 So I will deal with some paperwork & have a cocoa which will hopefully work 🤞

Good morning declutterati. I've been MIA for a while, as lots going on, but I have caught up with the train, and am collapsed on a seat, slightly out of breath 😂
Hugs and good wishes to all in need of them. I've loved the pictures of knitted and sewn items, a beautiful lake a and the intrepid box-climbing cats 😁
A couple of items of clothing have made it to the charity bag, and I'm ploddily plodding like a ploddy thing through my emails. Solidarity to everyone else doing this. I'd far rather be turfing out my kitchen cupboards! My inbox is now at under 190 emails 🎉 When I get too upset with sorting through them (they are from a tough time) I switch my attention to the emails that have photos attached, and save the photos I want (if any) and delete the email. Then I back up onto a portable hard drive. Dull and repetitive, but I'm getting there!
My 2024 plan to simplify and add routines to my life, so I don't feel everything is getting out of hand, is going well. I clean my (small but perfectly formed) house on my work from home day, which makes for a more enjoyable weekend. This habit seems to be sticking 🙂
Moved a project forward as an electrician came round to give me a quote for an extractor fan in the bathroom. He turned up when he said he would, and was very thorough. Will be good to get that ticked off my list.
I recommend Diane in Denmark on YouTube for decluttering and routines inspiration.Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Hi all quick report in before the roofers arrive fingers crossed
. All I did yesterday was empty the lr recycling and collect my glasses. The opticians phoned just as I was getting my coat on to visit them
. It is quite nice to be able to see things very clearly again
. I did call at the pharmacy for my meds but the queue was out of the door so I left it not wanting to mix with that many sick people in a small shop
. I will call again today.
Right off to get the kettle on and be ready to greet the roofers, I might have to move my car. Hugs to everyone who would like one

315 glasses collected
Take care everyone

Just pottering as out for a fish and chip lunch with group at 12. Decided on Estate Agent, booked some viewings and sent email to the ones I won't use. Made enquiries about getting Energy Certificate. DD coming for 2 nights in 3 weeks so I'll get her to go through all the house paperwork with me. Need to sort out a solicitor but will probably use one who did wills etc.
My passport arrived in 11 days! No sign of GHIC health card which is supposed to take 2 weeks (now over three).
253 Membership cheque sent off
254 March cards bought - I need to post overseas one very soon
255 Two bookings made to view houses (I'm counting these as small frogs)
256 EA chosen and meeting booked for Friday
257 Quick edit to add I have removed another 1000 names from family history file - it is getting much harder to reduce the number now but my aim is 50% and I'm two thirds of the way to that target. I really don't need all those third cousins once removed.

Good day Peeps,
my arrangement of an afternoon out with a friend has had to be cancelled so that leaves me with some time to focus on what I need to do. I'm not moving stuff as well as I should but bits are still moving around and out. Decluttered a t shirt to rags belonging to DH and 2 of mine took the same fate. These are previously CS bought but get used up in DH's shed. 4 items (of course not planned) purchased at the CS on monday so we are nearly on an even keel with moving stuff around for re purposing.
Emptied the eternal triangle of socks that are collected in a carrier bag behind the door that has been used for many many years, we've been here for 8 and we had it way before that. 16 pairs of socks and not a stray left in the bag.
I have put together an on going list of bits of things that need doing and recording where I remember so we can look back on tasks completed. DH removed a radiator from the LR yesterday placed it outside and it has gone early this morning. Pity DH didn't think to check other scrap metal that we have hanging about to go.
I have items ear marked for removal from the house to go into my car to be dropped off at different locations during the rest of the week.
The roof man is coming next week to talk to DH and confirm details as we are replacing the whole roofbig money declutter and hopefully getting a start date as we have a car port to come down. Hopefully will get some pennies back to help with costs for the next job that will need doing.
Must dash whilst I've still got some mojo running in me.
Take care all

Not much decluttered today as it was a late night last night saying goodbye to work. Hasn't quite sunk in yet, but it's going to be a big change when I rock up to the new job tomorrow (I was in my last company almost 9 years!). Not expecting much of myself the next few months as I'll need to get up to speed and work hard, but hoping to continue to make tiny progress in the decluttering. One small thing for today is that I finally dug out the washing machine instructions and figured out how to use the delayed start. My plan is to put the clothes in the night before, get the machine to run first thing and then I can hang it out before I even need to start work. Should save some time and make sure the washing always gets done. Right, sitting around for a bit longer and then I'll make the kids some flapjacks before I pick DS up from school and the chaos begins.Digital:
