Good evening all - I'm still here. 😁
I've tried to skim read the posts since my last post but my memory is shot, so hugs and get well soon and commiserations to those who need them.
I got the keys to the house on the 14th and I finally got heating and hot water Sunday! It looks like it was just in time. The house was just about staying around 11C but if that cold spell arrives here, it would have gone down. Now it's a case of figuring out the best setting for the house as none of the radiators have thermostats.
Today I got the second and final delivery of my boxes from France and last Monday I went with my son to Peterborough to clear the small storage room I had there. Thankfully he drove; it's 4-5 hours from here in south Wales and he's far happier driving at 70 on the motorways than I am.
I'm gradually finding the cleaning stuff - boxes were packed to capacity so randomly in order to fill them completely but it does mean it's pot luck as to what is in each box, (apart from one or two main items that I listed). The house is filthy after nearly 2 years uninhabited and there is no built-in storage.
So again it's mostly money I've decluttered for things like a bed, mattress, washing machine and I'm really looking forward to a fridge freezer being delivered on Wednesday. I have a large piece of stilton and when there was no heating it was just about OK but once the temperature rose a bit..... It's in the outside shed now. 🤣🤣
I have so much stuff and I now have to collate it all and decide what I want to keep and what I will pass on.
Just to give you an idea, the picture is of one of 3 rooms and there is even more boxes of mainly Le Parfait jars in the small summerhouse.
Jewel and Gino think it's a climbing wall just for them.
What you can't see in this picture are the 7 trunks of alpaca fleece just off to the left and all 3 of the spinning wheels. 😱🤣 And that's before we get to the 7 IK3A bags of various yarns and crocheted items. Suffice to say, I'm going to be busy for quite a while but I'm really looking forward to it and ending up with what I want. The charity shops are going to be bursting, starting with the paper I used for wrapping as they've often been scrabbling for wrapping paper when I've bought something.
If all goes well, I'll have broadband on the 1st so can report in more frequently. Dxxx

dND, fab news that you are in and getting sorted. Your white cat could be my fluffy cats French cousin. Your cats look like they are quite at home in their new adventure playground.
Thank you nannywindow. I second Dfw's post. It will all soon be behind you.x
I hope you are feeling better Muddy.x
Mr V has been sent an appointment to see the consultant in a few weeks. Thank goodness. I went to shops today as Mr V had me in Nottingham 2 hours early!!!!! I bought some bubbles for DGS for Easter instead of chocolate and that's it. I am feeling that I need some new clothes though as I am going away next week for a few days. I must resist and see what I already have.

Morning chums, it's been a manic week I've had viewings almost daily and have another one today and on Thursday and Friday as well. So house has to be spic and span all the time. I've been trying to unload stuff here and there, and last night eldest DD took some tools from the cupboard under the stairs. I still have so much to go.
Youngest DD says it's a lot easier once your under offer, as you can go at your own paceas opposed to high speed
trying to sort out so much stuff and reduce as much as I can from going to landfill.
It feels as though every cupboard and drawer I open is crammed full of bits and piecesI'm looking forward to DGS Jack coming home on Easter holidays as he's brilliant at sorting stuff out and saying 'Nanny its got to go'Considering the last time I moved I went from a house over three times the size to this one. I can hardly believe what my little house actually holds
I've listed what furniture I'm taking and that's not too bad, its the other things that have accrued over the past 28 years here.
Books are all sorted, and knitting stash is boxed up, kitchen cupboards are a bit of a nightmare, and where most people have a JIC drawer (just in case) I have 5 in my kitchen ! ! ! They will have to be strictly gone throughly by the end of this week. with all the viewings I really haven't had much time to sort many things out as, I don't want a pile of black bags of stuff piling up in my conservatory.
I've just put four bags out for the bin men who are imminently due, and waved to Nosy Nora across the roadBless her she really needs to get a life
as she rarely speaks to anyone in the road.
My for sale sign must be driving her nutsin the past 10 years there has only been 6 sales of houses in my road so when a board goes up I know she wants to know all about it.
As she usually ignores me when I wave I am fully expecting her at some point to say something .She really is a dreadful curtain twitcher
My little neighbour next door says 'I bet she will quiz me but I will say I know nothing'She made the mistake of cornering her once to say her two little girls were making a dreadful mess by throwing snowballs at each other a few winters ago. My neighbour asked did they throw them at you ? and she said certainly not, to which my neighbour said ' shame they should have then you could complain' and walked away, these little ones were 6 & 8.
Everyone avoids this woman as she is so grumpy and nasty to everybody, and this is such a friendly road and we all get along. Her OH is just as bad always complaining about the leaves from the trees in the road making his garden untidy and why don't the residents make a point of sweeping thump dailyThe ones opposite my house are quite pretty in the spring and another neighbourhood planted some nice crocus bulbs around them. But he is alway complaining about something .They really are a pair well matched those two, and I won't miss them thats for sure.
Ah well back to the grindstone I have some stuff to drop off on the way to my coffee morning at Dobbies then afterwards a quick trip to youngest DDs to look in on her three dogs, as her OH has to go to a meeting today so I will doggy sit for an hour. Hopefully by the time I get back after lunch the viewer will have been and gone with the EA and I can sort the JIC drawers out
Hope everyone has a good day looks like its going to be a dry one for a change

Morning. It's been s busy morning here already. Dog 1 had had an accident on the dog bed all the way through the living room, hallway and kitchen. So floors mopped and dog bed stripped before children came down. Then DD3 off to school and DS2 taxi arrived early so rushed him out. Went in the kitchen and there was a drip on the worktop from the bathroom so worktop cleaned too. Just having a cup of tea while DD2 gets ready and then we will drop her at her class.
Not much else planned this morning and DD1 will be here with DGD this afternoon. Hoping to clear through some of the living room this morning.
4 x dog food bags thrown out
Door mat
2x Sponge things (the netting type ones)-gone funny on the wire shelf.
