The link is to a YouTube video which talks about how our environment affects us and it may be useful for those who are not sure how much they want to get rid of/keep on their decluttering journey. It covers wider topics too - ie how to discourage bad habits and encourage good so well worth a watch in any case.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅15 -
Peter Kay was really good. The only thing is he was using references that you would have to be of a certain age to understand. He was talking about UK adverts and I didn't even remember one of them and I'm going to be 48 next week. I googled it afterwards and it was from 1980. There were mostly people my age there or a lot older, but there were some younger people there and I would have thought a lot of it would go over their heads!
We went to a vegan restaurant in Borough first which was very nice and it had a view of Southwark Cathedral. It wasn't rainy either and it was quite nice weather. I feel like I haven't been to that area of London in years. My friend said Borough Market was absolutely packed as she walked through it. It did seem very busy. I hadn't seen my friends in over a year and I told them I'm moving to Broadstairs next year, probably. My friend was saying why don't you move to Brighton or Worthing instead? Lol. She has a flat there.
When I got home from the hotel yesterday I walked into my house and found it looking very tidy. I usually stay in a hotel and think why can't my house look this uncluttered?! My house looks very minimalist, which was nice. All I had to do was put the now dry washing away and do another load for our clothes that we wore.
I can't believe it is almost 1 and I'm not even dressed! This morning I had to do an online grocery order, call up the kennel and text my brother back and forth about next weekend and for some reason it all took ages. He offered to pick us up in his car, but I said we could meet him in Lewisham.
I am going to clean my kitchen cupboards today and take everything out and see if I need it all. I need to use my pedal machine today too. When I was walking around in London my legs felt less strong than last time and I haven't been keeping up with using it. It is strange as you can use it while watching TV or at your computer and it doesn't feel like you are doing anything, but it does strengethen your legs.

Good morning. I hope you're enjoying your quiet time Mrs SD.
Yesterday morning the lady collected the books. We all had showers and left here at half 1 to watch the talent show. Got back about half 6 so nothing else got done yesterday.
This morning DH took DS2 for his swimming lesson and DD2 went with him so I stayed home to clean the bathroom. It was way past ready! A bath mat set that said washable but started dropping apart on the first wash has now gone as the smell from the boys missing the toilet wasn't washing out and it got more out of shape with each wash.
62 books- given away
10 bathroom items to recycling
Bag of rubbish from bathroom
Bath and toilet mats binned

Heard back from Rude boy late last night and he was quite put out that I hadn't saved the big bit of counter for him. This despite not having responded to my message to him a full 48 hours earlier. Hello all, there have been lots of pages to read through so apologies as I don't remember even half of what has occurred. Two posts have stuck in my head though, so many hugs are winging their way to Muddy and Vulpix and Mr V.
Not much clutter has gone out here except daily detritus and the box from my letterbox flowers, they are part of my xmas pressie from DD and I have 3 more deliveries to go. This time I have tulips, carnations and roses and they do brighten my moods. I've been so up and down lately and I have been in and out of the TLC carriage so much they've put in revolving doors for me 😂
I have been busy of late with DGD having a sleepover this weekend and a hospital appointment last week, where a decision was made to have the cancer op 🤞 I have another early appointment for tomorrow morning for my pre op assessment so hopefully it will go ahead on the 6th March. 😱
Yesterday I went with DD and DGD to town to buy some new PJ's. A basket full of clothes later I returned, with some things I didn't even know I needed 😂 Note to self don't put DD in charge of the basket next time !
I had a senior moment too as I couldn't use my keys to lock the front door, so I had to use the spare set. The penny finally dropped after I got home, I'd been trying to use the back door key, Doh !! What a numpty 🤣
MrsSD shame you couldn't go on the trip, it sounds like a good time is being had by all. Enjoy your peaceful time home alone though 🧡
Hugs to everyone in need.

Thank you all for your hugs….i had a word with my manager this morning (ok bawled my eyes out and sniffed a lot) - she was horrified and will be keeping an eye on the newbies and stamping out any bad behaviour. They fit in with us not the other way round she said so I feel happier now.I nipped out lunchtime and bought a Starbar - I love them!⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

I seem to have stepped off the TLC carriage and got left on the platform! I've managed to catch up and I'm back on the decluttering track. My brain has been full of retirement / pension stuff so i've not wanted to do anything, probably a case of some tadpoles growing into frogs all in my head
My sister was here at the weekend and i decluttered a handbag, a pair of boots, hair straighteners which i no longer use and a couple of books back with her.
I have realised that the local T Express has a cloths bin in their car park now which is handy next time I go in I'll drop off a couple of bags of cloths and shoes. I was worried that it had been there for years and i had not noticed so was relieved when my sister told me just a couple of months, to be fair i don't usually park in that corner of the car park. But it will save me paying to park in town to take things to the CS, my hip doesn't allow me to carry heavy bags from my sister's house which although closer than home is still a mile walk into town.
I've arranged for a friend who is a interior designer to come around in a couple of weeks to help plan changes to my lounge and dining room so that is incentive to clear some of the stuff from it, i'm paying her so don't want to declutter money with nothing to show for it!
I'll go back to catch up probably, but i did see your sister is on the road to recovery Mrs SD which is good newsLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin19 -
