Hi all, yesterday I was absolutely knackered. I was up and dressed by 7.30 waiting for the roofers and couldn't settle to do anything. They turned up at 3.50 by which time I was really fed up. It turns out they just needed the paperwork sorting, a communication mix up apparently
. Anyhow they will be back on Wednesday morning at 9 and it will take 2 days. I have told them I have an appointment on Friday which I can't move which is true, a union visit, so if they want paying they will have to finish on Thursday or I will be out by the time they arrive on Friday morning and will have to wait for me to get home in the afternoon. I realised yesterday part of my tiredness is the waiting for the B12 jab and I have a bit of brain fog with it. Friend's Mum's funeral is next Wednesday and I am struggling to decide whether to go, 4 hour drive away, and if I do go will I go the night before or get up early and travel on the day. OH is being no help just saying it's up to you. It nearly reduced me to tears as I just couldn't think logically about it.
So a few things left the house, kitchen bin, kitchen recycling and bedroom bin emptied and 1 LDFPA. I did wander around picking up and throwing away bits where I saw them but very erratically. I also did my physio thing on my shoulder and I think there is a small improvement. I have just about finished 1 fingerless mit and have started the cowl rather than the 2nd mit as the yarn changes colour in the swirl and I need to get to the right colour change in the swirl before I start the 2nd mit or it will look very odd.
Today I am going to get a new kettle as it's not switching off when it comes to the boil so I am going to the sm for a cheap replacement and will call into the opticians as it is nearly 3 weeks since my new glasses were ordered and they said it would take 2 weeks but I have heard nothing. I will also put a load in the machine before I head out, 1 load already in and swishingand I will check if my meds are ready. That's all I can plan so far today
Sorry I have read all the posts but my brain is still in fog mode but @dND that looks like a lovely room, so much natural light I am sure it will be wonderful when you have sorted it out. I didn't realise you were a spinner, you must have really missed doing those crafts while everything was in storage. The cats are beautiful.
@Mrs SD hope you are feeling a bit better, hugs
@Vulpix so glad Mr V has got an appointment soon, hugs.
Ok off for another cuppa before I get weaving, hugs to anybody who would like one

Mr V phoned St Rachael at the hospital. She is trying to get a scan booked in before his appointment with the consultant. Of course the bloods done at the beginning of January need doing again!
London 1, it won't be long before you are on your way. How very exciting.
Liverpool Anne, I would pass on the funeral if it were me. It's a lot of driving if you are not feeling your best, unless when you have your vitamin jab you feel like superwoman.
I am about to give the understairs doors another coat of paint. I forgot to say I bought a tester pot of Farrow and ball yesterday. The colour the doors currently are is too subtle.
Mr V is in the studio messing with electrical gubbins in preparation of listing the next thing for sale. The thing he last sold hasn't left the premises yet as the guy is on holiday. He has transferred the money though.

Mum and dad being away these last few days seems to have spurred me on.
I made my list and divided jobs over the week to make it more achievable- granted i keep remembering other bits that i need to do but not feeling overwhelmed by it all.
Just taking a quick break.
I am going to sneak down the back and have a look at a blue recycling bin that has been left there. The number does not match any house in our street and mine has gone missing so might claim it. I ordered a new one from council two months back but has not turned up and i don’t like leaving recycling in black bags in yard.
Don’t put it down - put it away!

Hope all goes well with Mr V's appointments.
You room looks lovely and big dnd, what a wonderful kitty playground!
2 frogs completed: bow tie made for eldest dd for world book day (going as the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland) and booked the ferry to the iow for spreading mum and dad's ashes. I used to pay for their holidays to go there and they loved to visit yearly. All booked for May to keep dsis happy 🙄. Dropped 3 parcels off for my v!nted sales, paid money into bank and picked up 2 summer dresses for 2nd dd and a shirt for eldest dd. Just had lunch and need to do some clearing and furniture moving in the 2nd bedroom (was previously dds but we have swapped so they can have more space in the master.) I have painted 2 walls white (f&b wevet) as I couldn't live with the pink they chose, I have one wall to wash and paint at the end of the week and then it will be a room I can live with 😊2024 decluttering Campaign

So much for coming back later 😔 Monday: No decluttering but did thoroughly clean the downstairs cloakroom - emptied & dusted the shelf, dusted the ceiling, washed the floor & all woodwork, cleaned the window, wall picture & mirror, wiped down the radiator & of course scrubbed the toilet & sink. DH phoned at 14:00 - steering is proving a problem today as the wind is rather fearsome 💨 Dinner from freezer - pulled venison, mash & cabbage fried up as bubble. Fell asleep on sofa for 2 hours, woke up & went to bed before 23:00 without doing the wudupa 🙊 Head hit the pillow & I was asleep within a few minutes 🥳 After a couple of bathroom breaks, I got up 05:35 & decided to make a hot drink - did the wudupa whilst waiting for the kettle to boil 🙂
323 - 324 Kitchen recycling, empty cough medicine bottle - recycled
325 Kitchen detritus binned
I went back to bed at 07:45 as I started yawning & I am not only determined not to nod off during the day but also to try & get into a good sleep routine - wish me luck 🍀 ….. Up again at 12:40 & feeling quite refreshed 🙂 So I have my mug of tea & am settling down to do the cheerleading.
QueenJess, well said 😊 Now I completely understand why you work in layers of decluttering 😊 More excellent decluttering 👏 I see that your DH was ‘wise’ enough to remember your conversation on Saturday & carry it through to Sunday 😉 There might just be some hope for him 😂
Lovely post -taff 😊
QueenJess, good luck with using up the dental floss picks 🍀
Excellent decluttering wishus 👏
Lovely post TC77 😊 The more you know about how you tackle your decluttering, the better 😊 It means that you will find it easier as you go along 🥳
Good work ilovetea 👏 Fingers crossed your tidying will also lead to some decluttering 🤞
Liverpool_Anne, I hope the roofers turned up & all the work has been done to your satisfaction 🤞Sorry to hear about the shoulder problem 😔 Fingers crossed that it isn’t a rotator cuff problem 🤞 I had that many years ago & not only was is painful & awkward but I also had to have injections & attend physio sessions for a month 😥
vulpix, I hope a decent night’s sleep has helped restore your equilibrium 🤞Five years is a long time to be under stress, so sending lots of cwtches 🤗 & a fervent wish that life will become easier & that MrV’s cancer treatment will start soon. Great work with all the cleaning 👏 Hope the dentist visit went well 🤞Definitely sounds like a Famous Five outing (+ 1 extra dog) - I received an email from DH this morning - yesterday was busy & hard work with the strong wind but they stopped at 16:30 & we’re having so much fun that all of a sudden it was midnight 😅
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏
Dfw38, that is very generous of you to allow DH to use your ‘measuring’ bag 😉 I hope he is making a note of how many times he fills & empties it 😅 Good luck with your decluttering by numbers 🍀
oceanspirit, hope you enjoyed your Frog-free day yesterday 🙂
Excellent decluttering Siebrie 👏 & long may your husband continue to be ‘helpful’ now that he has sorted the garage 😉 Hopefully he will keep it tidy & accessible 🤞The baroque display cabinet sounds beautiful 😻
I have reached the end of a page so will post this & make myself another hot drink. Back shortly 🤞

oceanspirit, thank you for the video 👏 I have watched it & he makes some excellent points. I loved the practical advice 😊 but did find him a bit frenetic 😧 Although I have bookmarked it & will revisit - probably when I next tackle ny electronic decluttering 😉
Wednesday2000, sounds like you had a great weekend 😊 & even more of a joy to come home & find that your tidy home reminded you that you have been very successful in your decluttering 🥳 Fingers crossed that your kitchen cupboard decluttering was a success 🤞
Excellent work in the bathroom charlies_tribe 👏 & made so much easier by DH taking the DCs out 😉 I hope you managed to find a little time to visit the TLC Carriage 🤞
Brie “Heard back from Rude boy late last night and he was quite put out that I hadn't saved the big bit of counter for him. This despite not having responded to my message to him a full 48 hours earlier. He can stay in his snit.” 🤣🤣🤣
nannywindow, lots of cwtches 🤗 coming your way. Please continue to use the TLC Carriage as much as possible 🙏 Can you remind me whether or not the revolving door is automatic? If not, then I will get that sorted out asap 🙂 I confess that much as I miss DH’s hugs, I am really enjoying my quiet time & haven’t spoken to anyone (other than phone calls with DH) 😂
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 You are galloping towards your next award 🥳
Muddy_Walker, lovely to hear that you have a considerate manager & I am very pleased that she is sorting it out 😊 I haven’t had a Starbar for years - I really, really want one now 😉
tibawo, I do love a good list 😊 I must get back into the habit……… probably why my decluttering has stalled a bit or should that be a lot 😂
Lovely to see you Brambling 👋 Now that you are back with us, I can let you know that the last carriage of the EDT is now fully up & running - no more getting stuck on a platform 😉 It is surrounded by netting & means that you just have to walk through the train to get back to the TLC Carriage 😊 & the Star Trek inspired transporters that take you from TLC Carriage to home & back again 👏 A friend who is an interior designer - how fortunate is that 😊 Thank you for the kind words about my DSis 👏
Lovely post Dfw38 😊
Another page caught up 🥳 Time for a break so I think I will watch Countdown 😉

Had a query on the remaining counter wood so am hoping that might go soon.
@dND
the cats look completely happy with the furnishings - are you not tempted to leave it like that? And I assume the cold weather might mean they are happy to stay indoors for a bit at least. But what happens when they're allowed out? Will they be learning Welsh? Or will they just sit on a handy wall and comment on the passing felines to each other in French?? "C'est bonne?" "Non, elle est trop moelleuse!!"I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Very lovely cats.
I didn't get around to sorting out the kitchen cupboard yesterday. I will do that in a minute. I feel like I'm coming down with a slight cold. It seems to happen after every time I go into London now.
We got an email saying that someone wants to buy our spare Taylor Swift ticket for over £500. My husband thought he was buying two tickets for the Saturday night concert but he accidentally bought only one! Hopefully that will go through nearer the time as that would mean we get 5 times what we paid for it!
