Muddy_Walker said:I am feeling very low today and am procrastinating…….the newbie issues have wiped me out more than I thought and I slept all day yesterday. I can’t go into too much detail but suffice it to say a clash of personalities and expectations of being spoon fed is the majority of it.
i think I might just keep to myself workwise and keep a very low profile…….Don’t put it down - put it away!

Oh @muddy_walker, I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling low and I send you my good wishes
@mrssaladdodger thanks for the stars. I don't know how to add them but they are appreciated.
Took final bag to charity shop this morning and did final bit of painting in the shower room. No decluttering as all the extra bits and tat have now gone. Though I'm sure ei will find more.
Have a good evening everyone. Back to work tomorrow - boo!16 -
I understand! Why are people like this???? All I want is a simple life 😊 Just had a shower of epic proportions, washed my hair and changed my bed. That feels better along with a slice of bread and butter.
I had so many plans this weekend and nothing got done. So kicking myself there…..although Friday is jab day and shark week is around the same time, so I might just leave my hormones to party on and take each day spoon by spoon…..⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

nothing from Rude boy so I've got another fish on the hook for the kitchen counter. He only wants 1 piece out of 4 for a reduced price than I've asked. Tempted to ask if he wants it all when he gets here.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Evening All, a busy couple of weeks, Half term was lovely and actually got a sunny day in Tenby and ate chips by the harbour. Was lovely to get away and stay in a house with no clutter. Work had been very busy followed by another busy weekend with friends birthday celebrations and trip to the Bingo! I even called house and got a win! I need to find time to squeeze the decluttering in 😅16

Not much decluttering carried out today at mine as I was busy helping someone else. I must admit it was easier decluttering their items than my own!

This and not panicking is why I declutter in layers... I do a load of decluttering and then live with it for a while to see if it's enough for me or not. Everyone will have different levels they are happy to live with. If I feel stressed because there's too much, but not sure where to start then I watch some extreme decluttering/minimalist type videos and it makes me realise how much less I could really live with. Slow decluttering is definitely the way forward. You don't have to love everything in your house. Am I ever going to love a kitchen utensil? Nope, but I do use them daily, so they will stay. This is why I ask instead whether I will be using it in the next year or not (and have I used it in the past year). Not done that much over the weekend as I've been out and about with the kids. Got annoyed with DH yesterday as he declared he swanning out to a cafe with DS after I brought him back from gymnastics (usually if he goes out it's just to entertain DD whilst we are at gymnastics so we can spend time as a family after that). Basically he expects me to make lunch for DD, put her to bed and generally wait around in the house for him to come back (whilst probably doing chores). Nope. Felt fed up and told DD we were going out and DH that we would be back for dinner at 5:30pm. Took DD out for a nice lunch and day out and came back to dinner on the table and DH had helped DS tidy his whole room (basically we swapped roles for the day). Apparently it took them over an hour to tidy it up. Went out again today after DH felt the vibes and cancelled any other plans he was thinking about that didn't involve me and we all went out together.Anyway, still managed to find things round the house whilst tidying/playing with the kids and spotting things. Still more to go of course, but progress is being made everyday. Trying to make it a habit so things naturally disappear daily until I'm at the right level. May go back to the desk drawers tomorrow since I had already tackled 4 of them completely (leaves 3 left). Still going through the same email folders... it's like a fast layer version where I find more I really didn't need in the same folders every day I look at them again. When I struggle (probably soon), I will move onto the next set. Already at 1,100 emails in total in folders, sent items and inbox. Even my inbox seems to be decreasing in size slightly which is probably because I haven't bought anything online for a while.Changed my approach to tidying (which I despise) so it's now to tidy 1 thing for every 2 decluttered. It feels much more in balance now. I hate tidying, so in theory the more I declutter the more I put stuff away without thinking and therefore it wouldn't be in my numbers (I only count tidying for when I consciously think "I need to do some tidying").Digital:New total = 4,500

Thre's no need to love it all, just love enough to not be too much clutter for you and then the stuff you actually need to run your house and life efficenlty and without extra stress...So maybe two or three utensil holders are fine but more is not, kind of thing...Personally, I have a problem with kitchenalia, I can't resist it, I bought a saucepan in the upcycle place last week because it was a nice shape and stainless and a pound. I will definitely use it though so that's not too bad.... However, who needs more than two sets of sheets at my and OHs age? So any excess beyond two sets for winter and two sets for summer can go...Do you see what I mean? Let go of the stuff you don't care about and too much of stresses you out and keep the things that mean something to you, but that can be curated...WeeNancy, nice book sale! vulpix, nice blanket too! Get well soon Mrs SD and enjoy the silence

@TC77 I forgot to say that for consumables in my house, I generally work out how much I’ve got in. For bathroom stuff I limited usage to about 2 years since things are likely to degrade beyond that and I wasn’t happy spending 5+ years working through some of these supplies. It isn’t a one size fits all solution though.. my parents gave me their supply of dental floss picks and no one else wanted them on Buy Nothing and I just can’t bring myself to throw them away as I do quite like using them (but would prefer to switch to something without all the plastic). They don’t take up much room though and so I will be using them up over the next at least 5 years!
I probably still have at least 2 years of shampoo bars, but everything else has been whittled down.2025 decluttering: 3,324🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅
