Evening all, had a couple of lovely days with the dc including a trip to the zoo. A couple of toys made their way back home 🤭. I have spent today doing some clearing up, not much got done as the dc were less than cooperative 🙄.
I have one bag filled for the cs. I managed to sort through some of my drawers and pulled out a small pile to put on v!nted next week.
I tackled one 🐸 today - something I have been putting off for approx 6 months; cleaning my dad's wooden engineering stool. It was really grimy but I haven't had the heart to clean it until today. I picked up some leather cleaner and some wood balsam yesterday and tackled the 🐸 today. It looks 100 times better and I feel better for it 🙂

Hey peeps. Grief is getting in the way of stuff still, but we have managed to make a bit more progress.
I did a count and updated my signature so I think I'm on 412 items for the year. Big leap in numbers due to selling a couple of big boxes full of items on the famous auction selling site. Chap came and collected at a super bargain price and I gave him some display rails for free.
Also another bag of shredding went today. I need to find my tweezers though as I've jammed the shredder again.
I can now get to all my bookshelves. It's amazing!Keep reading books!

London 1. My Mum would say at least your unfriendly and well suited neighbours are not spoiling another couple.
Liverpool Anne, Chatsworth is worth a visit at least once, the grounds and estate are very nice too. Can recommend the farm shop. I can recommend other nice places if you are in the market for stuff to do.
Almost up to speed with my list of jobs. Curtains lengthened and I think they look better. doors and step stool have had 3 undercoats and 2 top coats. Possibly another in the morning. Still to do,hang a coat rack in the under stairs cupboard, get a sticker off the back door, clean the thresholds of both outside doors. etc, just little things that I remember then forget about straight away.
Some stuff in, tin opener to replace the one which needed herculean strength to make it work, a frame for an incredible embroidery from Mum's, a couple of balls of wool from craft club. I will crochet blankets for the cat sanctuary with them. I found a few bits for thrift site whilst looking for furniture polish that can go.
Hope you are feeling better tomorrow Mrs SD. x

Hi all, all I did yesterday was pave the road to hell
lots of good intentions but not much done
. I am awake at silly O'clock because I haven't really slept, just one of those nights that happen now and again. Enjoyed the footy match and I am out for my tea tonight and will probably dose off at some point soon so I have set an alarm for a couple of hours time just in case
@Vulpix, I have done a route finder search and Chatsworth is about 1.5 hours drive from where we are staying which is very doable so it is on my list now. We are staying at a place called Swadlincote so if you know it and can recommended anywhere nearby that would be great. So far I have also listed a museum and denby pottery for potential visits. Not sure what others want to do yet but I suspect OH will spend a while going wrinkley in the hot tub and might spend a day fishing with our friend's son
. Not sure what our friend would like but having a list will be a starting point
@Florafauna, meant to ask where abouts are you looking to move to? Up North is a big place depending on where you live now
Off to get some breakfast and another cuppa, hope everyone has a good day.
Take care everyone

@Liverpool_Anne My daughter worked at Swadlincote many years ago. I have not been but I understand the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas (11 miles) is worth a visit as is Calke Abbey (NT - 7miles).2025 Decluttering Campaign 607/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Taking refuge in a cafe, been stuck in hideous traffic around southampton after that terrible lorry accident yesterday on the m27. DD had an emergency dental app. We left an hour to get there, should take about 25 mins. After an hour and 10 mins i rang them and we gave up trying to get through. We weren't moving and still had 6 miles to go! So DD decided she would like to go to her lesson instead which was about 20 in the other direction, which was much clearer on the roads, except we had to go around jn9 on M27 which is where they have shut it so it was gridlocked there too. But got to her lesson 5 mins late. So at least she had been able to have her lesson even if she still has toothache. 🙄
And even more impressed she has coped with the change in plan at the last minute and went into her lesson 1. Late and 2. Without her stuff. Which is amazing and she's how far she has come.
Now I have to work out a plan to get us home, with the least amount of sitting in traffic!
However just had the most lovely bacon roll. Which has helped me no end xx♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

Liverpool Anne, Swadlincote is more bit by bit's stomping ground, she may have some suggestions. It depends what you like to do. Ilam and Dovedale are nice for a walk,Ashbourne is nice for a potter with a great chip shop. Loughborough has a great street market, Burton upon trent has brewery tours. Trentham gardens at Stoke on trent, they have events , stunning gardens and a lovely shopping village with nice places to eat. Bakewell is nice for a day out, market day Monday, there is also a nice local brewery where you can try beers and they have a pizzeria. I am sure you will have loads of recommendations. When is your visit?:18

Back to trying to do bits of decluttering everyday and being more ruthless (asking whether I'm likely to use it in the next year). Decluttered a bit of my desk since I am sat here decluttering my work to do list anyway (4 days left!). Really need to do a bit of tidying up this afternoon, which will also likely lead to more decluttering.Digital:
27 - emails deleted from permanent folders
Physical:
1 - broken box recycled
3 - packaging reused
1 - activity book (binned)
42 - tiny envelopes I never use (recycled)*New total = 4,307*Kept "just in case" as I could use them for cards I make, but the reality is that they are too small and I don't use them. So why are they still here?! I certainly won't be using them in the next year.2025 decluttering: 2,449🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅

Had a rear end shunt in the car last week so been dealing with injuries and car repairs. Could do without the hassle, but it’s just one of those things. We should make a full recovery in time and we are fortunate that the hospital has been very aware of our existing issues and doing their best to help us prevent bigger problems - it depends who you see in A&E and we were lucky that the doctors we saw had an awareness of our particular diagnoses which saved the usual arguments with doctors who think they know better than the professor who normally looks after us.
Plan to get back onto dealing with frogs and decluttering over the next few days and will be taking it gently to start with.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅20 -
